PES 2011 Discussion thread

the demo gameplay in general was good, but my one big complaint was that it was wayyy too easy to control posession on TOP PLAYER LEVEL even when using Bayern against the cpu Barcelona team. I averaged roughly 60/40 posession and wining more than I lost. If I were using Barca against bayern, this statline makes sense, but playing AGAINST Barca, I should be dominated posession wise, when using the highest difficulty level.

i remember back in the day PES 5, PES 6 even, you had trouble disposessing great control teams like the dominant Milan squads or united side, I'm afraid I won't feel that dynamic with top player in PES 2011 retail Hope i am wrong though.

It's frankly been a problem since PES 2009 , and it was evident again in the demo.

Has this been improved for the retail version?
Is there a 6th difficulty level (superstar) like winning elevn 2010 japanese version?

I can say that CPU-challenge at top-player is better in full game than in the demo.
 
If you play with the worlds top teams it will feel alot easier to retain possession, your controlling great players. Try lesser teams for the challenge. Top Player is still the highest difficulty level on PES, and it's exactly the same as Superstar on Winning Eleven.

^^^ well it should be relative....

Juventus is a good side, and if I play against Chievo, more often than not i should win the posession and tempo battle.

If i play against Barca on the top level, I shoudln\t dominate posession. I'm no wonder gamer I can assure you, if I had to rate myself I am above average but no maradona on the sticks.

In the old PES games, it was veryyyy hard to dominate posession, this year it just seems too easy.

I don't know if it's just me and my methodical playing style....but not so good in terms of realism for me.

I've only had 8 games on the full version, so my views aren't set in stone AND I'm playing with a 360 pad on the PC, never tried those pads at all before last night. Fiddly! However putting controls aside, I've felt Top Player is a little tougher, it's slightly harder to defend against stand-out players and possession wise I was taken apart when playing away with Spurs at Arsenal and then Galatasaray.

Sickening as it was, when Arsenal had the ball it reminded me of their ability in real life to just pass around you for a long time. They were starting from their own box and going both direct and patient and compared to the demo it felt harder to dispossess them, sometimes I just couldn't. Galatasaray seemed very "alive", really sharp. This didn't seem like cheating, they missed a couple of sitters, got a few players booked because I think they were generally too eager. And when they had possession they were getting a lot of men forward to get the ball to Milan Baros who got a hat-trick against me. This match in particular shell-shocked me, but in a good way.

I never checked possession stats last night but in these two matches I'll no doubt have got around 35-45%.

The 6th difficulty level in WE is the same as the 5th in PES, according to old man Murphy on Twitter.

Lags are changed from PES2010 I think. If it happens to lag in your game it is not freezing but paused! So after the pause you can play like nothing happened... you only need to be careful when it goes on playing xD

I think it is so great! I played ML since PES 2 and always wanted a MLO mode. Finally it is there :> It isn't perfect but very addicting.

Well...you don't have to forget that it is football... according to the latest Bundesliga table where a small club like Mainz is on first place with 7 wins out of 7....everything can happen.

Most time the better team wins. But if you / your players (I am writing the players because sometimes they just don't do what you would've liked them to do) are unable to score some 100% goals and the opponent has a lucky shot than you lose. This is how football works ;>

To the point that they don't do what you want them to do:
Often when I want to shot they do some weird things like shooting with the outside of their foot instead of the inside like I wanted -.-"

To the 1on1 with the goalkeeper issue I mentioned before in the thread. I found a way to have a 95% success rate to score. Regardless which player :>
 
Last night I wanted to test the BAP mode and I created a player who is "second striker" (not sure if it's said like in the english version).I sign for Wigan and I play one match against Bayern as an offensive midfielder in a 4-5-1 formation which ultimately makes sense.
I just had a second game against Fener and the coach played me as a CB hahah

I created an AMF and it always played me as AMF, striker or right forward. Not sure why you got put at CB though, was there a shortage of CB's?

I ordered Dead Rising 2 on PC from Zavvi and it took 3 days after dispatch to arrive which was a pisser.

ShopTo normally always next day for me.
 
I know this is off-topic, but maybe this could help some Belgian people in here.
To my astonishment the game is in the shops. I just bought it in Brussels (Media Markt). We have two versions: a French one and a UK version (manual in Dutch).

For the people who imaptient: it is available in at least one shop...
Gonna have a busy evening...

In my experience with PES online, 4 meg seems to be the minimum requirement, so 9 meg is more than enough. Alot of it is down to decent upload speed, 0.5 and above should be fine.

How much is it over here? Game UK are selling it for 35pound now, for a couple of days waiting I think it would be worth saving 25euros. I've got FIFA to keep me busy anyway. Just checked the website and it's 59e.

Apologies if this has been answered (it no doubt has been, considering the page count), but what's the general consensus on XB360 or PS3?

I'm presuming the PS3 will allow better editing input (via the USB), but the 360's controller is possibly better to play the game with?

Comments appreciated, as the only thing I'm unsure about is the format I'll be purchasing for.
 
Shopto haven't touched my order yet, doubt I'll get it tomorrow.

I usually always get them a day early tho, so hopefully thursday.

I payed it 59 euros tik...just like you said.
By chance i was yesterday in Amsterdam and i was sort of looking a (a tiny) litle bit for it..but i did'nt came across a shop who had it...
