PES 2010 Masterleague

The season has again turned for the worse for Ajax. Hopes where high that they would claw their way into a decent position but a series of impossible draws and even losses against clearly weaker teams have shattered those hopes. Chelsea kicked them out of the CL with a convincing 3-1 combined score to only leave one cup open for business, the KVNB Cup against the league's top team, AZ.

Ajax stuck with there recently poor 4-4-2, but instead of relying on Salihamidzic for AMF, Etxeberria got the spot with Sali on the left in stead. Alvaro Gonzalez on the right, Wilson Palacios in DMF and Gutierrez and Crouch up front

First half was a close battle with AZ getting better chances. Palacios was great in the midfield, keeping AZ in their place. No goals in the first half. Second half, right of the bat there is a free kick near the halfway line. Gonzalez sent a high pass into the box and the defender guarding Crouch freaked out and sent the ball over his own keeper and into the net! Great start to the half. Just a little while later, Gonzalez has a great run up the right flank, high pass, Crouch heads it in. Things are looking good at this point, only a few minutes later, Crouch gets up the left flank, a pass into the box and another confused defender clears the ball into the net! It was up to Gutierrez to kill the game of late, after a pass from El Moubarki, in an offence which started with great buildup play from... Crouch! 4-0 and the only title Ajax will win this season.

Even if he had a part in every goal, Crouch get's like a 7... but he get's best player and goalscorer of the cup so that's not too shabby.

League Position: 4th (qualifying for the Champions League)
Cups won: FA Cup, Europa Cup (:D)
Settings: Top Player, 15mins, Condition Random

Overall a great season winning both cup competitions and qualifying for the Champions League. One of the most memorable moments in the league was beating both Manchester United and Arsenal in successive games and coming from behind against Wolves to win 3-2 with a cracking goal from Pav in the 90th minute to go 5th in the table. Also, losing to Fulham 2-1 away in the second leg of the Europa league semi-final only to go through to the final 2-2 on aggregate with away goals. Robbie Keane was my top scorer notching up 22 goals in the Premier League, and 11 in all cup competitions. Defoe was the top scorer in the Europa League with Pav acquiring the most assists.

Here are some pics from my ML.

Yeah, Konami took that one out. Yet another step towards more reality? Or just an annoyance? :)

i think it is realistic. it would be "to easy" to see them from all the player. where is the fun of scouting then? you even wouldnt need a scout anymore.

btw: is there a way of editing the boots of my youth team players?

Started a Master League with the defaults on Top Player, couldn't manage to sign anyone unfortunately but promoted a Youth. Drew the first match 0-0, then won in the cup 2-1 with two late goals.

Any tips on dribbling?

Liverpool FC 2009-10:

Mirroring their true form IRL, Liverpool have had a mixed season so far.

We lost to Stoke, Wolves, and beat Chelsea, Arsenal and Barca.

But with player tiredness and a lack of confidence....we lost
more games to Man City 1:2 at home.....lost to Sporting Lisbon
and a shocker at home to Wislaw Krakow....
lost 3:0 at Spurs...

We then beat Barca 2:1 at home to qualify from the CL group stage
with the spaniards topping the group.

In the transfer market:
Out: Kuyt, Voronin, El-Zhar, Ngog, Benayoun, Kyrgiakos, Ayala, Insua, Nemeth, Kelly.
In: Baros, Ribery, Reyes, W.Brown, Caldwell, etc...

And with a new 4-3-3 formation, things are on the up...
4 wins in 5
beat Villa 2:1 away...with Baros and Torres.
lost to Bolton 1:0 at home in FA Cup QF
beating Chelsea 1:0 away...after dominating them.
1st Leg CL 2nd round 3:1 vs Juventus....we went 1 down ...and I thought
the away goal will kill us....but just so realistic....Steven Gerrard
just takes the game by the scruff of the neck.....bursting into the
area to side-foot a volley in... then he disposseses a defender and crosses for Torres to score twice.....all this within 7 minutes...Juventus were blown away at the Kop-end.
Beat Blackburn 2:0 away with Reyes netting both....the first a delicate free-kick
on his first full appearance.

We are 5th , 10 pts behind Man Utd....and hoping to enter the Quarters
of the CL....but the passion and confidence is back...

Merry Xmas to all you guys, hope your ML is going well.

My Rodos are going well, 4 points clear of AEK, although we've hit a little sticky patch. In the final of the cup, yeahhhhhh, face Ajax, so looks like I'll have Europa League for my 2nd season. A double would be grand.

Will update you all soon on how I'm progressing.

Dumped out of the CL Quarters...by rampant AC Milan 4:1
We drew 0:0 at home....but the 2nd leg...they were just too clinical.
We hit the post, they went 2 up...and then 3:0 up...

Seeing this pattern....I lost 3 times away to big teams.
vs Arsenal, went 2:0 down due to great play down their wings...
3rd goal was a left wing cross headed/volleyed in...
vs Man Utd, went 2:0 down...same thing...
3rd goal was ditto...
vs Milan went 2:0 down...same thing...
3rd goal was ditto....

But Milan owned me...never been cut to pieces like that...
Defending needs to be better....I am able to thrash the smaller
teams now....but I am a bit more vulnerable to the big teams...
I beat Barca twice, Chelsea twice...but lost to Man U twice....

So now chasing 4th spot...5 pts behind Spurs....man I need to get
back into the CL....
this ML has just recreated the real thing...the amazing atmosphere
of the CL....is just too much....I can't imagine missing out on the CL
for next season...

Just started my fourth season, now having set the time to 15 minutes instead of 10. I don't see myself changing it back, it feels better, now each game has a more "epic" feel to it, at the loss of a better way to describe it.

It has started off well, 3 wins and one draw, and a 3-0 win in the first game of the cup. Lavezzi from Napoli was my only buy in the summer, when I finally got some positive answers from players I wanted to buy it turned out most of them were out of my budget... Lavezzi alone set me back about 35 mil. I have a good feeling about him though, he has already scored two, one being a blinder from a free kick. He also has massive stamina so he is ready for most games. A bit wild in the shots but has real speed. Perfect companion for Gutierrez as Crouch is very much passed his prime.

First game in the Europa League was against Liverpool! Turned out to be great, Ajax (home) scored first, then it was 1-1, 2-1, 3-1, 3-2 and in the last, harrowing minutes, 4-2. Two from Lavezzi.

Season 2009-10 complete:

EPL:
Liverpool strongly finished with 7 wins out of 7....
and ended 3RD placed....5 pts off Champions Chelsea.
We were always sitting between 6th and 8th in the league
for most of the season.....but the final flourish...thank God
ensured a CL spot for next season.
Looking back, it was the bad early season home form that cost
us the Title....but can't complain...since even a CL spot looked
unlikely at one time....
Arsenal slumped and ended in 5th spot....with the surprising Tottenham
finishing 4th...Man U were 2nd ...losing the Title on the last Day.

Torres...top scored with 23 goals...Gerrard with 14 assists...
these two are the mainstays....with Ribery coming really strong
towards the end....
Lucas was an ever-present keeping Masch out of the team...
Reyes was disappointing....he started off brightly...but faded
Baros was ok....not the best...but a good bit-part player
along with Babel.

Not sure who to sign...since I can't afford to keep any big names
on the bench...but can't depend on having another injury free season..
Mascherano is complaining big time....and Lucas is just terrific that
I can't drop him...
Reyes may see the door....and we need a good WF who has pace and can
score...maybe will look at Duff...or Malouda...or Balotteli..
I am also thinking of selling long time fav...Carra...who is getting old..
Will look for a better left-back since a frustrated Aurelio signed for Osasuna on the last day.

Team:
---------Reina------------
-WBrown--Skrtel--Carra--Agger
---------Lucas------------
--Ribery------Gerrard----
-Baros---Torres---Riera--

subs:
Reyes, Masch, Aquilani, Johnson, Caldwell, Haageland, Degen, Insua,
Cavelieri

Funny thing....with the transfers...I see Lampard and Giuly joining Zenith St.Petersburg...crazy..

does anybody have a PS3 ML file they can share that is 5+ years into it?

I just want to see how players develop

Hi guys,

Couple of questions. When do you get new youth players in the youth team? At the moment I've just got the starting bunch who are all crap.

Also when using the specialist training option, is it best to use this after the season finishes? As it says it takes 8 weeks and the player can't do normal training in that time. I want to give Gabby 1 on 1 finishing!!!

I hope the transfer system isn't screwed up. I want to be able to make realistic signings.

Doing fine so far 6 games played on top player 10 min matches. 5 league games 3W 2D 0L with gabby scoring in all 5 league games :) and managed to scrape a lucky 1-0 win in the cup with my second string.

The new players will come in at the start of each season, the only thing being if I was a big club and had decent money boosting my youth team rating would be the 1st thing I'd do as they'll be cack players that come through next season too if you haven't already upgraded this.

Thanks very much FD. I did put the youth team on lvl 5 straight away :))

I'm not 100% sure, but don't be expecting every player to be a wonderplayer, think it's just that you'll get some gems coming through as opposed to having a lower level.

Also remember your coaching has to be quite high too, that also mentions about improving Youth Team.

Well my Rodos team have acquired the double, 2nd Division Title and a comprehensive 4-0 win over Ajax in the final of the cup. I don't think I need many players, just a few bulk up to the squad players and I'll be happy. Mihalis Stavros the old war horse is the top scorer in the league (playing the last game at the mo) and we've had a great run all season.

Looking forward to bringing in some decent players and then going for the 1st Division title and the Europa League.

FD

Arrrrrrrrrr, don't wanna lose Mphela who has done well for me, but his value is £230k and I've been offered £5.9m for him.

Want to keep him, but that could do wonders for the youth set-up etc.

Dilemmas, dilemmas.

FD

haha, FD if you're looking for the long term, you should sell him. That cash will do great for the long run. I'm sure you're not expecting to win the League right off the bat anywayz.

2010-11 : Liverpool FC

Not so busy in the summer transfer market....
as the manager does not want to unsettle the team or
put any new faces on the bench un-necessarily with rising costs
in a recession-hit global economy..

But the big shock was Carragher leaving to join Real Madrid
as he did not want to join any other team in England.
I agreed because we need to have a younger and more mobile backline...
with Agger, Skrtel and Brown being the mainstays.

Chris Kirkland joined as understudy to Reina.

Jose Antonio Reyes was getting frustrated and left to join FC Basle...
he just did not justify his market value...

We are still looking for a good WF.....hopefully in the
January transfer window...with negotiations going on with Schweinstiger
and Vicente...
Tried signing Arjen Robben, David Silva, but no luck....

Again why on earth are big players joining Zenith St.Petersburg...
I see Anelka joined Lampard there.... :-(

Anyway...the season started with an entertaining 2:2 draw at West Ham...
we were 1:0 and 2:1 down.
Beat Sunderland 2:0 away in the FA Cup....now to face Arsenal in the next round....Next 2 games are big...against Spurs and Chelsea...

I developed a theory regarding transfers in the ML..I usually keep an eye on the players on my scout list, and usually "the chances of a deal are almost zero" for the really good ones.

So during a transfer window, I sold quite a number of my big guns, since they were getting very little match time and getting older. After this, I went through the scout list again, and the status for a lot of the great players had changed to "a deal seems unlikely", but I still managed to sign 2 or 3 really impressive and wellknown players.

So my theory is that a deal is quite impossible when your own team is already stacked with talent, cause who wants to join a club and just sit on the bench?
BUT, if you sell some of your top players, other top players will be easier to convince since they'll naturally get more playing time.

Thank you for your time.

hehe..........Goku, I'm going for the title.

But yes Mphela was sold, it was a sad loss as I rated him highly, but I've brought in Hadji (29 year old) who actually scored in the 1st round of the cup on his debut just over a minute into the game. I also brought in a young utility player from turkey, sorry his name escapes me at the mo, something like Secerleaglu or something like that, could take up a full-back position though for me.

Hope to bring in a few more players though, have around £3.5m, however with Mphela leaving and award money for last season has helped me improve my backroom staff. Youth team is at Level 4, so hopefully will start to bring in soem decent young lads. Also have my eyes on some promising young, cheap players.

Only 3 league games into the season, however am top of the league with 7 points.

FD

Think I overspent :/ put everything upto the highest setting apart from the doc at the start of the season, spent my budget on it. At the end of this season I will owe 55 million in total, including player wages. At the moment I have 30 million.

I'm kind of counting on winning some comps and earning enough prize money to cover the costs, does anyone know how much you get for winning the prem league?

Having a great 1st season with Aston Villa. Currently 8 points clear at the top of the Premiership with 8 games to go, into the final of the FA cup where I'll face Man Utd and into the semi finals in the Europa league where I have Genoa to overcome.

Sold Harewood for cheap just because he's crap and also sold Petrov mid season for 11 million to Inter which was a nice move for me, he was my best midfielder but at 30 wasn't going to get any better and I have decent midfielders anyway.

About 15M for winning the premiership + fanclub money comes in twice a year (midseason and end of the season) + other prizes ... you should be able to cover your overspent ass :D

Chelsea 0:1 Liverpool...
typical scrappy game with Chelsea having the better 1st half...
missing 2 chances.
but in the 2nd we pile on the pressure and 4 minutes from time...Gerrard picks a loose ball and threads a perfect thru ball for Torres to side-foot home.... we hang on for the narrow
win despite Acquilani being sent off...
The win is a big lift after losing to Spurs 2:1 earlier.

Next 2 games....we need to win at Wolves and Blackburn.

Just learnt that Vicente from Valencia will be joining...
Riera is not too happy and may leave in January

My money turned out ok! Managed to cover all my costs and not have to sell. Friedal retired :( so had to get a equally good replacement or I'd be screwed, managed to buy Frey from Fiorentina for 13m.

Won the EPL without losing all season, won the Europa and FA cup. Got a fresh batch of youngsters but none of them good enough for a first team place. Villareal promoted a youngster called Jarolim or something with a rating of 88 aged 18 :/ He's on my scout list :P

Will be another season with no signings though. See how my Villa team do juggling the league and Champs league. Lovely fixture list to start me off, Liverpool and Chelsea in the league with a FA cup game against Man Utd inbetween, thanks!

Well after starting over my ML after the new patch i can say that my first season went pretty well. Started with Liverpool.

First i signed some really good players for my youth team/reserve side (the guys for the future) the likes of

Angel di maria ( I highly recommend him had him on my previous Ml also) if you can afford him but you can negogiate as i paid 10 mil for him after benfica wanted 15 plus he never stop growing.

Adam Johnson (middlesbrough)
Edin Dzeko (wolfsburg back up for torres)
Jack Willsiere (Arsenal)
Toni Kroos ( Bayern Lewerskusen)the next Michael Ballack
Edin Hazard (lille)
Fabio (Man u) sold dossena

Can't remember if i signed anymore but they work really well with already present youths like spearing ayala kelly plessis etc

Won League by 2 points beating tottenham on the last day while chelsea lost who led led for most of the season after going on a unvinchable streak.

Won FA

Won champions league (tough)

beat real madrid in the quarter finals by 1 goal in the final leg.

Beat juventus on away goals in the semi finals, had to save the highlights of that game Buffon was out of this world the save he made was spectacular after i pushed to level an away goal lead juventus had especially a free kick from gerrard which was bound for the corner until buffon pussed it wide.

beat chelsea in the final 1-0 in a tightly contested game.

So a pretty good season really had to fight.

Oh and for people using liverpool do not sell riera I noticed the guy who posted above was going to do it he is a quality winger and really helps the team. He was assist leader for me in the premier league league.

And also babel while does not perform in the real game very useful plus he only 23 and already 78 i think so he is going to grow. I jus reject a whooping 40 million for him heading into the 2010-2011 season.

Currently in the transfer window about 4 weeks form the new season with $240 million in the bank and not looking to bring in no new players.

Ps i did make bids for Arjen robben and David villa during the season which was acceptd but i was not willing to pay 36 million for robben and 56 million for villa i think it was. To much for players although i had the money.
