PES 2010 Masterleague

Riera was good with assists for me too in the 1st season.
But with my 4-3-3 formation, he's not doing much....let's see..

Man what a tough night last night....

Drew 2 games away to Wolves and Blackburn...should have won
both...but just seemed to lack the finish...

And then away to Ajax in the CL.....when you see the CPU
passing very fast...you know it's going to be difficult...
I hit the post twice...had missed so many chances....some of them
from point-blank range....
and they scored two from quick-fire crosses...ended 2:0 to them....so frustrating.....we dominated them but somehow
ended up losing.

Next up...home to bogey team Villa...and away to Arsenal
in the FA cup....
Already we are nearing the "must-win" games...so soon
in the season....
 
Yea he wouldn't work in a 4-3-3. I played two games in the new season yesterday. Already an indifferent start from the last.

1st game was against west ham in the league ended 1-1

2nd- vs Man U in the Fa Cup I lost 3-1 and took a early exit.
After taking the lead thru torres. Rooney took a shot which the keeper diverted into the middle which i read well and had glen Johnson on to it before Berbatov only for him to slide clear the ball into the net instead of out of play. Man U then withstanded my pressure and sent the game to extra time where Rooney scored early so i brought on Dzeko for MAscherano and went all out with a 4-3-3 only for rooney to score again. Dam Johnson.
 
Sitting 2nd at the moment, although only around 6 or 7 games into the season. Feyenoord are top after beating me 2-1 at their own park.

Have managed to bring in a couple of players for the mid-season window, a 29 year old CB/SB Leontinu (sp?) French if I remember and a Brazilian 20 year old Mazinho (Mid). So boosting my squad ever so lightly. Still want to bring in a striker and possibly another centre half/sb.

Looking at DM Taxitidis from AEK and ST Papadopolous from PAOK.

Have drawn Helsinki, Juventus and Celtic in my group. In the 1st game of the Europa Cup went down 1-0 in Helsinki in the 1st half. Finding it difficult to get back into the match, I messed around with the system trying to find a more attacking approach, went to a 4-3-3 with Stavros feeding Agata and Dokos, with Hadji and Zeus being my side midfielders, although they were more centrally positioned and Bourkous worked as the DM. Knocking on the door it seemed I wasn't going to get anything out the game as it entered 81st minute, with a corner that was cleared, Hadji picked the ball up at the edge of the box, however with his line blocked he ran down the 18 yard line and from the right of the D smashed in a stonking shot straight into the top left hand corner. Deciding not to change the tactic after a poor cross into the box from Dokos, Bourbos the LB swung in a great ball and up rose 34 year old Talisman Mihalis Stavros to smash a header into the goal past the despairing goalie. Then with Helsinki pushing forward a break allowed Stavros to feed through Dokos who smashed the ball in high from an angle to claim an impressive 3-1 win when a loss was on the cards.

Juventus defeated Celtic 3-1 in Turin.

That's a tough Europa group FD! Geez.

I've started my 2nd season today, as my Villa team. This season is going to be tougher than my unbeaten prem campaign last season, I put some strong teams in div 2 so while Burnley, Wolves and someone else went down, I now have Porto, Sporting and Rangers to deal with. I'm also in the Champs League this time rather than the Europa so playing my B team isn't so easy. My squad is the same as last season, with the only change being Freidal retiring and Frey coming in. Simply don't have the funds to strengthen the squad with the kind of players I want yet. So I have a bare thin squad, too thin, I'm in the market for a wonderkid 18 yr old midfielder so fingers crossed I sign him up, but I doubt it.

As for my start to the season I had Liverpool and Chelsea in the league with Man Utd sandwiched inbetween in the cup! Couldn't have asked for a harder start :( I got spanked by Liverpool 3-1 in my first game, my first league defeat ever :( Booked my ideas up since, beat Man Utd in the cup and beat Chelsea in the league. I'm sitting joint 3rd with 5W 1D 1L, Liverpool are top with 7 out of 7. Birmingham in the cup next and had an away 2-2 draw with Marsielle (sp) in the Champs League with my B team.
 
What a rough night....
Played 6 matches...and the CPU has got so much more
faster in all these games...
Finding it difficult to get wins.

Then the CL....lost to Benfica 3:0 at Anfield....we could
have had 1:1 but they scored 2 in the last 5 minutes...

I've had...we dominated them....should have won...but
missed so many chances...

Beat Shaktar 2:1 in a must win CL game....we were leading
2:0...but they almost pulled it to 2:2 hitting the bar
in the last minute....I just hung on for life.

I moved to a 4-1-3-2 formation with Baros and Torres up
front...and the football is better now...a little more
balanced.,....
but defending...I am learning the hard way...to really
try to cut out the CPU's lightning breaks down the wings..
(I had increased aggression and mentality and speed for many of the good teams)
I just have to be so careful in defending...mistakes are being punished

First i signed some really good players for my youth team/reserve side (the guys for the future) the likes of

Angel di maria ( I highly recommend him had him on my previous Ml also) if you can afford him but you can negogiate as i paid 10 mil for him after benfica wanted 15 plus he never stop growing.

Won League by 2 points beating tottenham on the last day while chelsea lost who led led for most of the season after going on a unvinchable streak.

Won champions league (tough)

beat real madrid in the quarter finals by 1 goal in the final leg.

Beat juventus on away goals in the semi finals, had to save the highlights of that game Buffon was out of this world the save he made was spectacular after i pushed to level an away goal lead juventus had especially a free kick from gerrard which was bound for the corner until buffon pussed it wide.

beat chelsea in the final 1-0 in a tightly contested game.

So a pretty good season really had to fight.

Oh and for people using liverpool do not sell riera I noticed the guy who posted above was going to do it he is a quality winger and really helps the team. He was assist leader for me in the premier league league.

And also babel while does not perform in the real game very useful plus he only 23 and already 78 i think so he is going to grow. I jus reject a whooping 40 million for him heading into the 2010-2011 season.

Currently in the transfer window about 4 weeks form the new season with $240 million in the bank and not looking to bring in no new players.

Ps i did make bids for Arjen robben and David villa during the season which was acceptd but i was not willing to pay 36 million for robben and 56 million for villa i think it was. To much for players although i had the money.

thats what i call a well run season. i also like that you choose dzeko and kroos for your team. both are really good player, kroos beeing the next big thing in the bundesliga (wait for him transfering to munich next summer).

just one question: when you are able to buy dzeko and kroos, do you have the complete bundesliga in the game? what option file are you using? do you have the uk retail of pes2010?

1st - Us version
2nd - Of only has about 7 or 8 bundesliga teams ( mainly top ones )

3rd - I cant remember exactly when i bought them but i think it was during the season and they arrived in January not sure though.

Gonna continue my second season now as i have time think i may forcefully have to dig into my bank account to replace carrager when he retires probly in a few seasons as whenever i pair skrtel with Agger i fell as though my defence is pretty shaky but i may not have to if ayala and kelly develop right in that time.
 
I managed to buy some players for once, can't believe it! In my 2nd season with Villa I got through the Champs League group stage quite comfortably 5W 1D 0L Needed to strengthen the squad though as I had no decent players to back up the first 11. Was constantly getting rejected :( but finally managed to do some business in the Jan transfer window.

Bought guy name Bou for less than a million, 20 yr old, about 76 rating. Has played solidly on the right wing for me since joining and is good back up to Ash Young. Signed Da Costa for 10m from West Ham, decent young CB, the best CB I have anyway and I'll train him up to be even better. Semih for 12m from some Turkish team, decent striker and has given me much better options up front. Last but not least Mata from Valencia for a bargain 8m! Mata has been amazing since joining, playing him on the left wing and he's causing havoc all game long. Downing has lost his place despite playing great himself.

Cruising the Prem League, 19 points clear :/ which will allow me to focus 100% on the Champs League, already put Valencia out of the last 16 with a 7-0 agg win. In the FA Cup final too against Liverpool, had a nice easy run in the cup to be fair.

I sold Carra just before the 2nd season...to Real...
But I realized that my defence became a bit shaky..
Although now I have stabilized it in the last few games...
With Haageland keeping Wes Brown out of the team.
Agger's rating is growing...and is getting better than Skrtel too.

I really need to start looking at younger promising players because
I am low on money...but a couple of injuries could mean trouble...
since many of the players are getting tired.

Anyway things are looking better in the league...still 8 pts off leaders
Chelsea.

Last 2 matches:
Liverpool 1:0 Everton...
With Torres needing rest...Baros led the line with Babel..
and after a match we dominated...Baros tucked in a rebound
from a tight angle after the keeper parried Gerrard's piledriver...this was on the 86th minute...

Fulham 0:4 Liverpool
We were lucky when at 0:0, Fulham hit the bar and missed
an open goal....but we blew them away in the 2nd half..
Gerrard (2) and Babel (2)...with Torres and Acquilani
with good assists.

Next up...Man United and a must-win CL game at Shaktar Donetsk.

Man I'm really enjoying the Master League this year. The new additions are really nice; investement in my Youth Team reaped a 95 rated 16 year old winger named Burchet.

After earning promotion from D2 (Coca-Cola Championship) in my first season by finishing third, behing Middlesborough and Newcastle, I struggled for the first half of the season and was 19th by the time the January transfer window came around. Signed two young players, Marinho and Etzanchenko, an AMF and AMF/SS/CF respectively. Etzanchenko scored 12 in the remaining half of the season and was my top scorer, ahead of Young who had 7. Marinho contributed 6 assists and 4 goals. Started the period after the transfer window with 3 successive wins, and eventually finished 14th.

Lost several sponsors at the end of the season, left me with a notable lack of funds (about £6 million, about £1.5 million less than two previous seasons). Sold several players in effort to raise funds, but unsuccessful in attempts to in anyone notable, apart from a utility defender (Mikhail, I think, from RC Lens). Squad is generally weaker than last season, apart from the addition of Mikhail and Burchet who is absolutely brilliant. Currently holding down a place around 16th coming up to the transfer window.

Not sure if it's just because I haven't played in a couple of years, or changes to ML, but it definately seems harder than it used to be; before I'd be able to take any team to the top of D1 within a couple of seasons. I don't know if it's just me, but I enjoy a struggle and hate it when it becomes too easy.

It's a shame I don't video my highlights, I just scored 2 great goals in the cup final against Liverpool.

It was a rubbish first half 0-0, then Gabby managed to get to a rebound after the keeper had saved a shot from Carew 1-0. But after that, damn!

76th minute I pass the ball along my back 4, work it to Ash Young on the right just inside his own half. I do a high lob pass over the top for Gabby to chase, he's at the ball before anyone else and from about 20 yards he lobs the keeper and it settles in the back of the net.

86th minute I again work it along the back 4, pass it to Mata on the left, he plays my Turkish striker Semih through. The defender is trying to barge him off the ball but Semih stays strong, shrugs him off and from 8 yards out with an acute angle Semih lobs the keeper, it pings off the far post and into the net. I was celebrating that one for awhile :D

Won 3-0, now bring on Barca in the Champs League final :/
 
2010-11:
Liverpool are on a winning streak...10 wins in the last 11.
coming back strongly in both the League and the CL.

Now with the best defence in the league....8 goals in 17 games.
kept 9 clean sheets in a row...
The highlight being a 4:0 home win over Man United...with even
Agger scoring from 20 yards.
We are still 6 pts behind the leaders Spurs...

Had some suspension problems...and with Gerrard tiring a lot...
step up Alberto Aquilani...who has made the central AMF position
his own...with Gerrard now on the left wing at times.
Baros has picked some vital goals...offloading the burden from Torres.

Riera has agreed to join Valencia...with Vicente coming the opposite
direction...Riera has barely played recently...and we have had our
best spell for a while...so he will not be missed.
Also signed a few potentially good youngsters from different clubs..
Muller (bayern), Fabio (benfica), and one more...
Schweinstiger seems interested too...but last time was too expensive..
so we will bid again..to see if he comes cheap this time.

In the CL, after losing to Ajax and Benfica in the 1st 2 games...
we won the next four....beating Shaktar home and away 2:1 in tight games.
And then breezing past Ajax 2:0 at home...and edging Benfica 2:1 away
to top the group....did not expect this after the start we had.
Shaktar surprisingly made it 2nd.

CL draw:
We avoided the big guns like Barca, Juventus, Roma.
It's Fiorentina vs Liverpool....not an easy game...but with a home 2nd
leg...we are favorites...
Hopefully some of the big names will eliminate themselves...with the pick
of the round being:
AC Milan vs Man Utd
Barca vs Inter
Roma vs Real Madrid
Juve vs chelsea
 
Signed a guy named Villalba 19 yr old, cost me £1.2M. Initially I bought him to replace Delfounso who's 5th choice striker. But Villalba has started so well to the season he's now fighting for a starting place. Great player, banged in 5 during my first Champs League group game against PSV in a 7-0 win. Check him out guys, worth a buy.

Also bringing in Zarate from Lazio for £39M in Jan, a lot of money, he's no doubt very talented and I will enjoy using him in my team. Didn't really need to sign him but I thought I might as well! Will try and pick up some 1-2M pound bargains to play in other positions I want improved.
 
Finally continued my season where i left it last night and i have to say things have really started to blossom again. Last night i made it 12 games unbeaten in the league with 11 wins and 1 draw and in the champions league 4 wins and 1 loss at the moment with my reserve team losing in the 87 minute to ajax but the main highlight so far is that i have scored 12 goals and only conceeded 2 so far in the competition so hope that lasts in the knockout stages.

You certainly will. I signed him last year and he was awesome. His development is off the map. He can also pull off all the feints, tricks, etc. Zarate and Lavezzi up front for me last year were phenomenal. Enjoy.

Yes I noticed he's skillful, haven't got to Jan yet but looking forward to adding him to the team! Will be attempting some sexy football with him linking it all up.
 
How do I look the no. of goals/assists each player in my team has?

Also, anybody had any injuries? In November of my first season, and no injuries. This is with, most players set at Injury B.
 
2010-11: Liverpool FC

After the January transfer window:

Got a bunch of youngsters....
Valachiban an 18 yr old winger from Costa Rica...with 86 rating...
his full debut was against Chelsea at Anfield.....he hit the bar and was full of pace, but naturally a bit raw.
The game was dragging with 0:0 ...we missed some good chances...but yet again..with few minutes remaining a superb
move...Torres was released by Gerrard down the left channel
and he side-footed past the keeper...1:0 it finished !!

Next game against Rangers at home...the youngster Valachiban he missed a penalty(i hate the side angle)...It was the first penalty I got in 2 seasons !!
Muller from Bayern, a 20 yr old SS new signing...he got his chance coming on for Baros and he scored
our final goal in this 3:0 win....brilliant...

Also got 2 other midfielders...Fabio from Benfica..
and Lazovic from C.Zvezda...not yet played them

Liverpool had a good 2:1 win over tital rivals Man City...
with Mascherano scoring the winner...from a corner after
was flicked on by someone...

Had one really scrappy draw 0:0 against other rivals Spurs..

Things are looking good...we are top of the table by 1pt..
first time in 2 seasons...
with top 4 separated by 5 pts...Man City and Utd 2nd and 3rd.
Chelsea and Spurs following.

Next up....it's the CL 2nd round...away to Fiorentina.
Man I love the CL...and the atmosphere....hoping to
get a win or a score-draw....won't be easy.
 
Well my second season is looking to end very good at the moment after bitterly losing the FA cup to rival Man u as i earlier stated, I rebounded quite well in the Konami Cup with my reseves breezing past Boca juniors 3-0. Im 3 points behind Arsenal who have a killer squad now with the likes of villa, hamsik etc newly recruited for them but am confident of winning as long as i dont drop many points.

I have made it into the champions league semi final against Barcelona gonna be tough. It was hard making it through though as again i met with Juventus and after winning at home 2-1 i went away and was 2-0 down by halftime but i responded well in the second with torres scoring early but my hopes seemed to be crushed when they scored again because as italians sides normally do they were defending well and hard to break down but in the 81st minute i got a corner which was taken brillianty by aurelio and saw mascherano run from the center and header home to draw the match on aggregate and give me the win my away goals. I was esctactic.

I may look to cash in on Babel and Hazard in the summer as when i give them chances they just dont seem to work hard enough just like Babel in real life which makes me feel like i really should have cashed in on the 38 or 40 mil i got offered for him but he played well enough last season for me to refuse and Hazard same story alot of promise but not doing anything. This paved the way for el zhar to play back up to benayoun and oh did he taked it well in my last game grabbing 3 assists in a 3-0 win against aston villa in the league. If i do i will look only for one player to replace the two of them. Most likely as always someone young maybe Zarate if he can also play as a winger i will have to see or promote someone from my youth team when it resuffles in the summer. By the way a player who is really excelling is jay spearing he is doing really well when he gets chances and has both attacking and defensive capabilities which is good.
 
just a quick question...do you play champion leagues in master leaguer with only the 5 league that you can follow? or random team from league A spot complete the rest?

I always suffered from injuries.
 
After getting hooked on my BAL, I decided to revisit my ML campaign last night. First game up was Barcelona in the last 16 of the Europa Cup. How the fuck they were in that I'll never know. Anyway, with a severely depleted side I traveled to the Nou Camp. Within 12 minutes I was 3-0 down, they had Ronaldo and Messi in the fricking team. :CONFUSE:

After 45 minutes I was 4-0 down. I must admit, I was scared to come out for the second half. :CONFUSE: The next 45 minutes I faired better, but the final score in the 1st leg ended 5-0 to Barca, they tore me to shreads. I have never played against the CPU version of Messi and Ronny, but they were frightening. My only consolation was to chop down Ronny 3 times. The last one nearly cut him in half, as he went off with what looked like a really bad injury. Although I got battered by 5 goals, seeing that little prick snapped in two made me feel so much better.

I think its safe to say my Euro campaign for this season is well and truly over.

Lavezzi has scored 29 goals in 27 games.

Heracles Almelo, next up, have 6 goalkeepers in their team. SIX FRIGGIN GOALKEEPERS!!!

Well my Rodos team are going really well, top of the league at the end of January. Next game sees me up against bitter rivals Diagoras. I actually won my Europa League group, beat Juve in Turin 3-2 in the last game, finished on 13 points, have drawn a fake team by the looks of things, so dno't know what I face.

Also signed a Mexican CD on a free Moreno and brought in a Japanese striker Ito. Turned down a near £6m bid from Real Madrid for CD Toumba. Happy with the squad coming along nicely. Well i completed my second season. I got knocked out of the champions league this time by Barcelona in the semi finals. After winning the home leg 2-0 and i though a good display away would send me through but it wasn't to be as i lost 4-1. It was like they were unstoppable. They was light at the end of the tunnel though as i won the league on the last day again. As i said i would i sold babel and hazard for 60 mil and tried to sign arda turan but failed. I brought up a superstar winger from my youth team cant remember his name, just to sell him for big money as i dont like to play with those players. I started my third season and won three games from three so far two league and a fa cup match against Man u which i took revenge and won this time to progress. I am trying really hard to sign arda turan from galasaray really if not now hopefully in the winter. Will pay any amount really as benayoun is aging.
