Re: PES 2009 News, Discussion and Rumours

Blimey! It sounds like it's even worse than I was expecting.

I do wonder how many people Seabass has working on the development of the game. I get the impression it's just him on his own.

Re: PES 2009 News, Discussion and Rumours

when playing football in real life and watching it , the aspects of football that are fundamental and make the experience of watching or actually playing it enjoyable are ;

1)dribbling
2)shooting
3)passing

out of these three things there is only one thing that fifa does good and better than pes and that is the passing and more manual ability to aim the passing. PES has better and more close and intricate dribbling with realistic response times to and has more variety in the way you can shoot and score and makes a goal feel great.

FIFA = * better passing

PES = * better dribbling
* better shooting

Also for a one player experience there is way to much cheating and stupid A.I. in fifa which does not allow me to play season mode in there or be a pro , i play one player a lot and fifa to be honest does not have one player career or single player experience as good as PES because of its lack of COM A.I.

so BWASpectra i do not want to have to work around the shortcoming of fifa as they are too big for me as i can not play single player and until they get that right i will be returning there fifa 09 back when PES09 comes out like i did last year when i bought fifa 08 for the first time in 11 years and returned when PeS 08 came out because one player was so shit.

any body else that finds one player fifa to be good i would like to know how can you overcome all the shortcummings , however i do think fifa is great for online but seriously if yoyu are mainly a single player like me then the game has to have a good career mode to keep me hooked.

Re: PES 2009 News, Discussion and Rumours

From my past experiences with every new PES game there is always period @ the beginning where you think that they screwed up the gameplay, but after a few more days you start to realize how genius the game really is (except for last year's version for the PS3/360). I believe that PES 2009 will deliver in the same fashion as we were accustomed to in the past, a sort of trial period and then the magic appears (keeping my fingers crossed).

totally agree with u there every year same shit going on here

for me personaly its what i expected, deffenitly did not expect a new engine on this version,
but all i wanted is to have the pes feel back, with better graphic, and a full edit mode, and its what i will be getting
on top of that a legend mode also, which it will give the game more longativity, just hoping the online is fixet and i will be happy with it:))

but i can understand the people that are dissapointed with what thy seen so far also, having an old gen annimations on next gen counsel is pretty dissapointing from konami, and thats they 3d game on xbox360 no excuse for not working they ass from scratch on the new engine

Yes FIFA needs to fix its CPU A.I. but please, Master League is not a good career mode.

Re: PES 2009 News, Discussion and Rumours

the funny thing is that those animation can be done on psp or ps2,so plz nobody tells anymore that pes 2009 is next gen even though the ball physics is good.
but for the day konami sorted out the animation system even with those gfx then i would say it's next gen football game.
i'm so disappointed of those game play videos(i'm a we fan)
and i just wanted to say that my best bootball game for me would be:

FIFA 09 COMBINED WITH PES 2009 TOGETHER

Re: PES 2009 News, Discussion and Rumours

Thanks alot Yak for your honest preview :)

no problem... but keep in mind I only played the game for half an hour... the obvious gameplay key points like gamespeed, ballphysics and smoothness you can tell by a minute are all really promising. But to be sure about all gameplay aspects you need definately more time... Oktober is so fucking far away :(

one thing I find really strange is that in all gameplay videos from the GC the pace of the game seems pretty fast but if you actually play it live it runs much slower (PS3 version)... the same happens when they played the game live on the big stage on the the big monitor the game runs pretty fast (also PS3 Version).. must be a problem due to the TV frequenz

It's a positive preview, and i don't forget what Adam says about the latest version :))
About the game speed, yes the video look always quicker then the reality, it's classic.

you try it in professional level ?

Re: PES 2009 News, Discussion and Rumours

Looking forward to getting my hands on a demo now. Hopefully the shit is out the window and they've fixed the free kicks.

If they can get it back to PES6 set pieces then watch out when Zico's about.

For Zico is the best dead ball specialist ever.

Re: PES 2009 News, Discussion and Rumours

Also, I saw the hi-def Seabass interview and the gameplay in the background looks a lot better than the videos we've seen thus far.

I remember curling corners into the goal with that football god.

@yak thank you for the preview man.

I am very hyped for this game man! Must be all the bullshark testosterone doing the rounds.

I think everyone should try the final game and make up there own mind. Borrow it from the shop or a friend and play it for a day or two and then decide.I, personally will be getting PC version as it's cheap and will have kitserver made for it. Will defo be getting Fifa 09 for my PS3 as it's going to be the better game on consoles, I'm almost sure.

Re: PES 2009 News, Discussion and Rumours

I'll be downloading it for the PC and if it's any good - only then will I give Seabass my cash and buy it on the PS3.
I think I will buy Fifa 09 for sure though - I actually enjoyed 08 to be honest

Re: PES 2009 News, Discussion and Rumours

Animations of the movement is terrible! Super sharp and not real. I do not know what are considered to make konami May but another year will be played PES 6. How to a FIFA to surpass them on condition that had a huge advantage, although no licenses. Now is shame to say that I am a PES fan because sounds offensive.

Re: PES 2009 News, Discussion and Rumours

looks like pes2008 to me..with nicer graphic touch and lightning. =(

Re: PES 2009 News, Discussion and Rumours

EA can copy all they want. I welcome it! As long as the game is good and they are ambitious with it, by all means, go for it.

Whats so special is that they are putting their egos aside and in place doin what ever it takes to satisfy the Fifa community. Very admirable. Being original for the sake of being original is selfishness. By the way, I hear PES has a similar mode to "Be a Pro" mode. ahemmmm. Owned!

Stop trolling this thread with your Fifa preaching. And Be a Legend is taken from the Japanese Fantasista smartass. Owned?
