Cause none is bothered with the meaningful parts like hmmm gameplay? But with untucked kits....the players' farting angle....how far Diouf spits...etc....

My opinion for what its worth....pes2009 is def an improvement on pes2008. However it hasnt reached the level of the last gen pro games and I feel this is unexcusable by konami.

For the first time since iss pro on the psone - i wont be buying the latest pro evo. Bearing in mind I have owned every pro, winning elevenven, final evolution, j league etc...this is a major disapointment for me. I just hope other people will follow suit as I fear this series will be lost forever unless konami realise the errors. This will only happen if they notice an impact on profitability.

I wait with bated breath for pes2010.

sorry to be so negative chaps, i feel the game is still there. Its just on a life support machine.

You are right.

The main problem with Konami/Seabass is that they keep making profit because of the duopoly FIFA/PES and the great PES fan base and their fidelity.

Since they doesn't get in profitability trouble they won't pushed to improve...

That will never happen, unfortunately. PES2008 achieved record sales. Says all you need to know.

Japan is the bane of the pes/we series....as long as japan jeeps supporting and buying piles of shit with the pes tag on them the series will be in this retarded state....

It has been the very first crack of the serie. The impact for that poor game may impact on this PES2009.

I think Konami has to take care of other markets than Japan also, like other software houses.. other markets bring us a lot of revenues

Nope, i think he's a bit back on track, when developing 2008 he was totally drunk and running in the wrong direction!!

(so he needs to catch up some distance that he got behind)

I guess you have to be blind to say this buddy, dont want to be unrespectful... but the grass, models, stadiums, all look way better than PES2008 just at the first moment... kits are WAY better dude.

I am not saying the games is PERFECT in the graphics department, but compared with PES2008, is really miles ahead.

About running animations, it is a sure bet they have not been modified from 2008. That is one of the lowest points of PES 2009.

it only depends on online mode, if its going to be good then i ll buy the game otherwise its not really worth it

my sentiments exactly.

there are some neat things though. i let my PESfanboy friend play it just now and he noted that it's more like "that other game" now with the careful thought where you pass next. Player stop and pass and if you hold the ball long enough they make decent runs too.

problem is, as you say, everything else is pretty bog standard. it's not next gen. little touches are not there. i've had some cool moments but there are problems everywhere for me. for instance, the variation of shots is LOW. the bottom-hand corner shots look great but the shots in general are really similar -or infact the same- to last year (now with a smoother framerate).

for those whoe perservered with last year's game, this game is for you. definitly a slight improvement gameplay-wise, framerate-wise, and mode-wise.

graphically.... not so much (animations etc).

i'll have to get it cause my mates are. bah. (we're all getting both).

sometimes it is the small details that spoil the experience...some hate the all tucked in shirts, other a simple running animation.

i am sorry to say this, but konami has lost the touch since pes6. it only went downhill since then. although pes2009 seems to have improved a little over pes2008 (couldnt get worse than that could it) its still miles away from the old games pre pes6. i didnt even have high expectations in this and still konami managed to disappoint me.

Back to the editing section of the forums to see if there is an up-to-date option file for PES6 (PS2) then hey boys... "yup"

...though if someone wants to make an up-to-date PES5 option file... I would take that instead of course.

- IA, much better than PES2008, alot better for play versus CPU (tomorrow i try 2vs2).
- Graphicly it's PES2008 in proper and more sharp. (nice grass)
- Long shoot more difficult
- Very realistic rythm (less = ridiculous)
- Great ball physic
- No more slowdown
-New pressing, more realistic, no more pressing foul like in PES2008, the player stop in front of the opponent (very good add)
- Nice fans chants, by exemple with Liverpool "Owen the saint go marching in"

- 90° turn
- Need more new animations
- Menu design too heavy (look big on my 46")

yes the roulettes out alone at times, because we are pressing 360º direction buttons and he do if it is very quickly. hold r2 and do 360º direction button e do the roulette:TU:

i dont have hd tv, just lcd screen big but not hd, can you help me to put a nice resolution? i have in the tv panoramic screen, graphics are cool but the balls in the radar tremling, in panoramic view in the game the game still a bit slow(not slow down), and the graphics loose a bit of defination. have i to go to ps3 menu ?

it looks like there is mud on the tops. but its just dodgy shadows and shading. Not happy, i prefer PES 2008 tops. The shorts are much better but they are kinda big.

Sometimes the CPU does a sliding tackle automatically even though i havn't pressed the O button. Gave away a penalty & got sent off. Whats all that about.

I repeat this game is awful...Now defenders can make a defensive bycicle kick to shoot away the ball in dangerous situations (like Cannavaro), the new way to play feints (only directional button) is wonderful, the frame rate, the grass, nets animations, ball physic...everything (less the ball noise) is Great...I'm wondering "Are we playing the same demo" ? I got the PS3 one...

All this negative posts are making me die to play this demo when I get home to see for myself. I hope it doesn't take long to download. I have 2 full hrs of free time to try this demo's out on both versions before I head to my own futbol game against the Land Warriors. If the demo sucks bad, then I will just take my anger out on the pitch tonight.

Technically, since PES2008 came out in March2008 in North America, with PES2009 coming out here in November 2008, it almost is like PES2008.5
