Right then, may as well have my two pennys worth. Playing on PS3 demo.

It is pretty much irrelevant how bad I think it may be because I WILL play this game for a year with my mates. I'm sure I always think PES is bad at first but then I get better and then enjoy it. (Obviously for PES 2008 there were so many issues, but I still played it - call me a PES fanboy!)

OK so on to the demo, yeah it doesn't seem that far away from 08, but I am delighted with one thing - u can't skin the defenders easily with the likes of ronaldo etc. That was one of my biggest gripes with 08.

My final point is this, wait to play it when some decent editors are out there, I'm really looking forward to crowd chants, imported music, all the kits hopefully, and just in general it will be nice to have full premiership (edited) teams. Wait for this and then judge.

Horrific is all I can say, this is just a smoother slower version of last years travesty, another year without my next gen footy me thinks, I think I will stick to my ps2 versions from yesteryear which are superior in everyway!

as i said the red on Liverpool's kit is fine, nothing to do with my HDTV

The red of Man Utd's kit is way too bright, i cant even see the white stripe going down the back of the shirt

I think this game is really disappointing..

My findings:

- You DO can go pass defenders easily. I went through 5 -Liverpool defenders with Messi easily, even through one physically (H.E.R.O.S style).

- I'm almost sure ,that the faitgue glitch is there

- Referees are really-really bad

- It feels more automatic, than any other pes before

- Shouldn't mention goal nets, gardening gloves, untucked shirts

- Animations are worse, than pes 5 surely

- It's simply not challenging and entertaining

- I bet, that the penalty system is broken, shoot low and middle and you score

- Defenders are constantly running out of position, I read it in some review, that R1+ thorugh pass is way to effective, it's spot on..

- Seems, that you can't build a good game, just tweaking a broken engine

- And listen to the ball sound, I can record better sound on my mobile phone..

- KONAMI have proved in the 3rd consecutive year their incompetence creating decent current gen game and invent something new

- They removed goal keeper cursor..

They focus on marketing shit and afraid of change anyway.

Shame on them.

It's a slightly tweaked pes 2008 graphically and unfortunately gameplay wise ,which means, that CUNAMI is absolutely not listening to their fans and make their own stupid ways which is very annoying.

Go on PES with a new engine, but you can imagine, what can we expect if they made this in 3 years..

Anybody knows a decent pes6 patch?

Being playing the PS3 version, sorry but this is a slowdown version of 2008, I can't believe how different the PS2 version and PS3 version of this game is and for the worse. This really hasn't evolved enough in 12 months, I think Mr Seabass needs to move aside and let someone else have a look at it.

The wierd thing is the reviews in the industry telling us what a step forward it is and it maybe a little better but its not £40 better. I can only hope online is sorted for the money, I must admit to being more impressed with Fifa at this point in time.

Had a couple of games on the demo and I am not impressed, I did't expect an overhaul tbh, but this is simply not good enough.
Granted, it is better then 2008, but it wasn't hard to top that now was it??
Maybe the full version is better, but looks like another footyless year for me....

Can you guys maybe post which version (PC / Xbox 360 / PS3) that you played and liked / disliked? There are so many end-to-end opinions about one demo game that it confuses the likes of me (downloading PC demo atm).

It would be great if people actually wrote WHY they have their opinions, rather than just stating it and assuming that's enough.

If I want to know "It's great" I'll email Konami, and if I want to know "it's crap" I'll ask a FIFA fanboy who hasn't played it.

Let's have some detail if you're going to post at all - what do you like, what happened to make you feel like that.

I haven't got home to play it yet, but I'm happy to admit that my perception of a certain other game (on 360) was skewed completely by conceding a physically impossible diving header off the back of the head whilst the scorer was facing the sideline and diving away from the goal, near the side of the 6 yard box. Any game that does that is seriously flawed, will irritate the hell out of me, and I won't buy. It's not necessarily rational, but it's enough.

there alot of bugs and glitchs on this demo ~_~ ps3 demo
but ... im sure they will fix it in the full game im pretty sure ...
the game complitly different than 2008
i played about 10 games
i dont know how to score ... <<< its cz its new game :)


any way :
the good :
the game much better than 2008 also the basses is great .. and shots amazing ...

the bad :
- keeper is sooooooooooooooo weak
- trick moves is awful ...
- long passes still faster than shots

Downloaded the Xbox 360 Demo this afternoon and played it a lot Heres my honest opinion on it and Im no Fifa fan boy by the way ive owned every Pro Evo.

Gameplay - Slower than last years but could do with being a little slower. Why can they not have an adjustable speed setting like they used to ? Plays better than 08 its much harder to break down defences

Graphics - Again better than last year some of the faces look really good and the crowds a lot more realistic. Overall not next generation graphics yet.

Sound - Sucks ! That ball thud sound is back. Terrible

Animation - The running and other movement is the same as 08 Rooney scored for Manure and in the replay he looked like a man who had drank 10 Pints and then eaten a dodgy curry running for the nearest toilet. Poor

Overall - Its better than last year and lets face it that’s not hard. Its ok but im not overly exited, It just seems like a Patched version of 08 with slightly better graphics . I don’t like the Demos camera and may enjoy it more when I buy the full game in a few weeks but ill buy Fifa 09 in the Morning as I believe its now Superior in every department.

Why are half the animations the same as PES 2008. It makes it feel like the same bloody game

I had some maches with PC ver, and I'm quite disappointed.
I had more expectations actually.

I'm not a replays fan but really sad to see that is no longer available the analog control of motion on replays but only forward/backward at default speed.

But this is the last of the issues... of course

- The game sounds terrible in 5.1 thanks to the shocking 'on the pitch' sounds.
- The ball feels clunky.
- The ball feels like its stuck to the players feet.
- The animations...
- The presentation is improved but still below par.

Based on this demo its certainly an insult to compare it to PES5, Konami cleary don't know how to make use of the hardware at their disposal and I'm very close to cancelling my pre order.

The other football game along with NBA 2K9, Madden, NHL etc are clear examples of next gen sports games.

Let's see... after 4 games in PS3:

Graphics: Great, miles ahead from PES 2008. Faces spot on, nets animations. For me the best improvement is the visual part. Really feels like a real game.

Gameplay: Slow. Probably a bit slower than needed. No more Cristiano oe Etoo runs with nobody catching them. Hard to score (I score a good Cristiano's FK because Robinho's got down :lol:, and a cool Del Piero outside of the box effort), you need to pass around the ball to find a chance. I guess defense comes forward too much because one way to find space is with the classic one-two. I guess that with some tactics you can sort that out. Keepers are better than 2008 but I feel that they can be better (hey Casillas is on the top three GK's in the world, he should be better Konami!) but they are better than 2008 as I said. The running animations are awful, nothing new here, but honestly that not bothers me a lot. The feint animations are not so good - I made a shot feint with Cristiano and looked bad, then he clipped the ball with his foot. Honestly bad. Overall gameplay is better, more rewarding. PES20087 should be like this one. Passing is not so easy as somebody pointed out here, I feel hard to pass the ball properly. Long passes are not so fast as PES 2008.

Sound: There is no need to say a lot, that ball sound is bad. Chants are ok, as well as the atmosphere.

Framerate: Perfect, no slowdown at all.

For me is about 8-8.5/10... let's try the final version to make a final judgement from my part. I am happy, but not very happy. It is a good game, but not a great one.

PES2009 is an embarrassment up against these titles. Say what you want about EA and 2KSports, but they know how to make the most of the next-gen technology. 2K had their NBA game nailed at the very first attempt on the 360, none of this 'we need three years to make the most of the technology' crap that we hear all too often in reference to Konami.

I think its a really enjoyable alternative to FIFA, its miles behind on the presentation and animations but its great fun. The speed is spot on and the ball physics are vastly improved on the marble that was 2008.

Looking forward to the editing and playing online, this is what PES6 should have been............no idea what Konami have been doing for the past 2 years lol.

I'll pick it up for £15 less at Christmas or early into the new year. FIFA will keep me going (hopefully) until then.

A score of 8/10 would be acceptable anything higher and i think its rose tinted glasses.........still great fun though.

I've been reading people say that the graphics have improved. Only the faces look better. The kits look awful.

this is how the game should be for the first xbox 360 version, WE2007! they lost 2 years doing what? i really would like to know...

about the game:
the animations really kills it, the players turning too fast and abruption, it's not what a next-gen console can make! the game is not bad, but IT'S NOTHING NEW! nothing different than we already played on PS2..

Downloading it atm but is this the good version or is it still the bad version. I get so confused with all these versions that are out, with seemingly the good one always just out of my grasp.

I think that is actually the most accurate statemment I have read here and on other forums, the actual running annimation looks so much like 2008 that it feels like 2008.5 rather than a full release....
