It looks like that because that’s what it is and your right about how long it will take them to put out a next generation game I think a bit longer than 2012 There will be a space station on Mars by the time they sort it. At least my grandchildren will get a game.

Truth is if Sh#t sells because people buy it even if it is Sh#t in a different package they will still make it.I saw reviews last year for it and people were saying “Best ever “ “Wonderful” FFS even Stevie Wonder could see it was Sh#t by the looks of it 09 is the same old Sh#t.Wonder what the editor will be like in this one.

Lets all give the Demo ago if they ever release it. A bad sign that its delayed ? I know what ill be buying and sticking with this year and I don’t think it will be this Bol##cks

yeah i think this year il get 2k9 basketball and football manager09,that should keep me busy.wait til after xmas and pick up pes09 for a fiver in the bargain bin

To be fair the game release is mid October but if they release demo same week as game to me that dosnt spring "I am confident with our game".

Its strange with Konami i have to side with Nick idea of new management is needed with new ideas or at least someone for Seabass to bounce off because at minute its like he bouncing off brick wall.

Yeah, but its a shame we have to revert to that to being the better one, shouldnt the next gen be the one which is better?

I thought it looked OK as well.
The fact that it finished 0-0 was a good sign.

I am already purchasing FIFA09, however, I will try the PES demo when it's out (when?) and if I enjoy the demo I will purchase both games.

I do love the Champions League layout I admit.

Those videos are ok, I like this gameplay, too bad the human players lack a little bit of imagination. They don't get midfielders involved, they pass to the forwards almost everytime, they never switch sides, they never hold it up, do one two's or high passes to streaking wingers (Watch the radar in a few of those scenes). They play linear football, and that's always going to make it look awful. Use your midfield people. All in all, I'd wreck both of them if we played, especially the guy who can't defend and can't read angles playing with Real:- )

I dunno what you people are on about, PES2008 was tripe, but this looks a lot smoother, tighter, better and more of a return to the gameplay of old. Based on that vid, you can tell it's light years from PES2008..

The latest vid looks very good, only the feints are rather too frequent. Shooting, passing, responsiveness, crosses, animations and flow have all drammatically improved.

My opinion, but then what do I know?

We can only talk about PES 2009 after PLAYING it. Graphics, animations, etc still the same, we know that. We just need to play. PES key is gameplay (or "was"). Let´s wait.

You´re right theCRO. I´ve never seen a PES 2009 video with a decent human player :S No teamwork no football, just run run run 1 pass or 2 and shoot. We can´t see anything that way.

thank God im not the only one, these players are ok, but certainly not very choosy when they build an attack. They are too linear, and the fact that nobody notices makes me think I'd do well in an evo-web tournament...yea yea!! ;- )

I can tell by your picture that it is going to take something special,well leave turning the water into wine,don't feed the 5,000 just make konami bring out a game that will match or better fifa09.Now can you make that happen my lord.

Edit: Didn't PES used to have better faces? I remember seeing faces from PES 2008 that looked very realistic. Most of the ones that has been posted lately look pretty old gen to me. Like a bad mesh with a bad photo slapped on top of it.

That is what this gameplay force you. You have so much space in this game, you can run so fast, you can turn so quick, you always have a very good chance to win every 1 vs 1 Situation. It is just the easiest way to beat your opponent. There is just no need to pass it around and build you offences. If you do not know what to do with the ball just run, it works great in PES08 and it looks like it will be working great in PES09. Sadly.

Funny... Sofar we have got different video's and some looked good gameplaywise, others didn't. In both cases we watched PES 2009, so my conclusion is that the video's made the difference. ;)

it does happen,but the ball not gonna be strike as good as that. the accuracy mainly will be off. the video just show you can score goal with any kind of ways. even abnormal way.

What with the Con-army embargo news, shouldn't someone get to right-clicking and save these images somewhere convenient ? They really REALLY are shoite at PR aren't they ? I've noticed the Edit Mode is clearly still under NDA as well, even the PSM3 review has an "Edit mode" heading but the scan suspiciously doesn't show that section ! I've seen precisely ONE edit mode pic, and dammit, I want to see the templates and the edit/import facility.

Also, their unlicensed "faux-"Chelsea wearing all blue (not white socks) when they play white-socked Arsenal? That's just encouraging me to think the mix-and-match kit is in the game, when I bloody well know they won't have bothered, even though they won't have put third kits in either.

I have to laugh at people on this thread completely missing the point with untucked shirts as well... sheesh. It's not that they're NOT in the game, they are. It's that you have to wait for some random computer opponents to try and fould you in order to have Babel/Ronaldo/Messi and co look how they should even though the untucked shirts are actually in there and a viable player model.

Really, how hard could it be to put the setting in to allow the editor to set untucked ? It wasn't difficult for them in various late PES versions, but we know how they love to take stuff out to add it back in again...

Speaking of which : IF KONAMI INVENTED THE WHEEL

If Konami invented the wheel they'd give you v.1 a big stone circular wheel without a hole in the middle. Then in v.2 they'd give you a hole but take away the circular bits in favour of a "new-improved" hexagonal shape. In v.3 they'd go back to circular, and it would leave a nice rainbow trail behind it, but they'd not have an axel. In v.4. we'd have no rainbow, and an axel creation mode, but one that allowed you to put an axel on the floor next to the wheel. And hell, you could make that wheel any colour you wanted, or have a picture of a dinosaur or penguin on it.

After another 2 or 3 years of people screaming for an axel to go through the middle of the wheel, and then some way of fastening it to stop it falling out, and then the opportunity to link two wheels together, and then the chance to actually use this wheel/axel innovation to carry stuff from place to place, someone would discover iron, and few people would want stone wheels any more.

So Konami's Iron Wheel version 1 would look quite nice, be made of iron, and wouldn't have a hole in the middle. Version 2 would have a hole, but the axel wouldn't fit the hole. But hey, you could decorate it with Ostrich feathers if you wanted...

I just hope the demo arrives on friday and not next week, because of the FIFA09 release.
I can´t wait longer i want to play the game finally :D :D

the psn update is on thursday, no friday,,,,,,,,,,so if the demo dont got out this day, we have yo wait another week almost.-

To be fair, Kuyt is so ugly they only need about 3 polygons to render his face :LOL:

They dont look good though in all seriousness - yet Totti looks photorealistic...
