I was too busy watching the animations and thinking that PES5 still has more realistic animations that make you feel like you are controlling humans. Sadly.

It's simple..just ignore the game. I'll try it, obviously..but I almost sure it will be as crappy as it looks, so I'll keep with PES6, no problem about that. Real faces, stadiums, boots and hopefully a team server with all competitions by Diego's project will extend its lifetime much longer. I prefer play a good game rather than playing this, just because it's the newer version.
I know how it will go..as soon as the game is released, there will be hundreds of people (mostly kids) excited with the new Champions League and Be a Legend mode.. People will try it, wait for a kitserver release to soon understand the game is still crappy, and that it doesn't matter if they include nice features as those ones, if they haven't the basic, which is a good football simulation.
I still feel sorry for the effort wasted by some of our editors on PES08..if they kept working on PES6, it would be even a better game right now. Just imagine Juce's work on it..instead of PES08, that will be soon forgotten.
I wish I'm wrong tho..I hope 09 will surprise me and turn out to be the best ever...

could it be, that the grass/turf grain in pes2009 has always the same lineforms....no lattice, diamond lattice, circular pattern??

iam definitely not happy with this...i like for example the diamond lattice and would wish for the future more turf grains :)

That latest video of AS Roma VS Real Madrid CF in the Champions League looks considerably better compared to the Leipzig videos.

ThomasGOAL do you have any information regarding the Legends online mode? In some articles it lists the game as being 4v4 online while others say its 4 v Computer. Can you clarify please. :)

I do NOT understand how anyone can still be excited for PES2009 after watching those new videos. I really don't...

Yes, and what I can't understand is why they can't nail the net animations and goal styles as it looks in that intro.

Roma vs Real vid is nice. I would like to see more PS3 vids though.

I'd really appreciate if you elaborate on that, if possible. Preferably with a video from Leipzig and a new video, and highlighting some differences. Maybe I haven't watched enough videos, or not watched them the "right" way, but I don't really see any difference. I'd like to see what you see for sure. :)

ahhh iv'e lived and loved pro evo...but watching that vid of roma v real madrid wasn't good for the soul

the vids played great on VLC player in HD :)

The only thing that i noticed right away was the pitch,to me it looked great! and thats pretty important for me.:DD
Now the rest was to my eyes the same as PES2008,passing shooting and the horrible running animation and the sound of kicking the ball(like old style kung fu movie when they used cabbagee for sound recording for punching/kicking sound).

And maybe the German commentary is better then the English:SS

2 things els that popped up was the extra time shown on screen(like in real CL match)


And the great save of the keeper in the overtime video.

It just looks better lol! :-pp Maybe its just the effect of the Champions League but the movement of players looks to be more free and the animations look slightly less automated. Night lighting is also quite nice and the grass looks better. Oh and the adboards and scoreboard look great. :)

Is this true?

Ive always been a massive Pro Evo fan ive owned them all but the last two on the Xbox 360 have been a pile of crap 08 being the worst ever so Im not building my hopes up this year . I watched the videos of Roma v Real Madrid and it looks very like last years. The players run way to fast like chickens on speed and that annoying ball sound. Im still playing Pro Evo 6 on PC and probably will be this time next year.

Not good !

Videos look great.

Seems alot smoother, still got the Pes look about it but the gameplay looks like its back to where it should be. granted, its still not next gen but it'll still play a fanastic game.

seemed more animated than previous vids aswell.

The game actually looks really good, until you press play...
From theese videos the animations looks really awful, the auto "shot feint" every time they turn of 90° if possible make them look worse than last year.

Maybe konami doesn't want to do soccer games anymore, i think they liked Beautiful katamary to much.
Player with kangaroo heads running like stupid and making some strange "thud" noise everytime they touch the ball... that would explain everything.

Beleive me they are gone mad :)

Doesn't look very promising if you ask me.

The ads and CL overlay are class, but that was one of those small things we could usually fix ourselves.

The actual footie action looks like a bunch of disabled ants on steroids. It looks like the arcade gameplay with highly agressive defenders from 2008 is still there. If it is, I'll pass on this one.

Still looking forward to the demo to prove me wrong though (gameplay-wise). :)

The other big issue for me is the ML. It's been in need of a major overhaul for years, but still the same old thing. The CL license should've been used to liven up the ML. Right now it's just Konami wasting funds on overlays and adboards, since we could already put together the competition ourselves.

Spot on Fernando ! I want them to get it right how long do they need to bring the game up to next generation. I bought the last two for my 360 and traded them in a few weeks later. I wont be fooled this year again Im no fan boy I want a decent game for my money.
The video looks ok in the cut scenes but the animation stinks. Why the hell can they not just give us the great gameplay of Pro Evolution 4 and make the graphics next Generation. I loved the hard fought 1-0 wins Last year one game 5 mins each way finished 6-4 have these guys ever watched a game of football.
That ball sound is the pits for me it drove me nuts last year. I felt like sending my copy of 08 to Seabass with a jar of Vaseline for him to stick it where the sun don’t shine hed probably have got more of a thrill out of it than I had playing it.
If Konami don’t get it right this year they can forget about it they will be light years behind.

All i can credit the latest videos on is slower then Leipzig and other good points are looks sharper graphically and slowdown seems eradicated.

Everything else just look scarily the same as PES 2008 apart from few new animations they look stiff and rigid not as fluid as PS2 games. Passing just looks odd this is what Fifa has spot on more diversity all seems way to accurate and all pinpoint. At end of day if PES 2010 is next gen engine then all these games are is stop gap games from PES 6 on 360 so they can work on next gen engine behind scenes. I would really like to think so because its like what the hell have you done for a year if modes were already completed as we were told last year.

Running animations are crap not to mention the thud thud jeez its like the start of firework every few seconds. I will try demo of course but i just cant get excited at all really find it shame that its going this way because imo gameplay wise Fifa 09 trollops on it in alot of areas.

The lack of ideas says it all for me i want to see new engine sooner better i want fresh experience now not same old got T-Shirt experience.

yeah watching that video it just seemed like a patched pes2008,which is a bit sad 12 months later:blush:

Can we start taking bets on 2010 being the same game with a couple more tweaks, it really does beggar belief as to what they do over there... Oh well roll on release and lets see if my PS3 can run this in a way that does not cause my eyes to bleed...
