PES 2008 (PC-DVD) - Official Topic

Yep its true and there will be some Swedisch Clubs as well. But the only thing i want is a better service, i dont really like to play 2 vs 2.
 
I hope they actually provide servers this time around as it is hugely dissapointing that each player hosts a half each, and if your winning at half time the other player lags you out of the match.
 
ahh well konami go a step backwards yet again. surely i heard them promising on 10v10 online matches but only one can dream of such a thing. konami realy fucked up big time
 
have anybody see the new stepovers animations ? (if there are new animations for it ) i looked so many videos from guys playing, but they all suck verry hard and never try a skill
 
well, I think I support Konami. from the videos, at least it looks like we're much much better than FIFA again and since there's no other footy game out there than can match these 2, we gotta go for Konami again. the fact that they've removed some features and replaced them with some other features is not very unnormal. I've been playing this game for so long (since superstar soccer) and this has always happened for the good, and sometimes for the bad side of things. let's just wait and get our own hands on it, stop judging, I think we feel better this way.

i prefer pes but i have seen some videos of fifa and it is great a lot of tricks and new animation but i don't know about the game play .

It definitely is closing the gap. FIFA 07 was quite a good game. Though it had major issues with the through passes. You could pass from the defence to an attacker to give him a one on one with the goalie. Kinda like you could do in PES 5.

Anyway, seeing that FIFA is getting better can only be good. Konami can slowly stop sleeping on their rewards.
 
Both Fifa and PES look dissapointing, gameplay looks almost identical to the previous version in both...
 
hahaha i played the fifa 08 demo, and o my god what a horrible game, looks like its going worse after each year, how the ball roll :S:S like you walking in water, totaly no feeling that you have control over the player you are walking with, PES is gonna beat fifa 100%
 
On the PC that is. On the so called next gen consoles FIFA 08 takes the crown by a small margin if we compare what we saw on videos. Playing the actual games will finally tell which is better.

well i dunno about you but im a PC gamer so until Fifa goes NextGen on the PC PES is the better game , btw i just played the demo, and i was right :lmao: the game plays Exactly the same as Fifa 07 but theyve speeded up the game slightly again Fifa fails miserable on the PC (hoping 09 to be Next Gen):roll:
 
I'm a PC gamer myself as well. I was referring to CR's "PES is gonna beat fifa 100%" part of the comment.
 
you and your nets :S, im glad they have more realistic nets now also but damn, to even make an avatar from the net :S

My Review of the Demo:

Haven't played much, but from what I can tell it's a bit of an improvement over 07.

Passing is better and feels much sharper. I like how much harder the passes are, better than PES in that respect. Not quite sure how the manual passing is supposed to work, maybe I'm doing something wrong?

Also not sure about the defensive controls, the right stick man changing is useless as it's hard to be precise, I just stick to the right trigger for change man and use pressure and 2nd man pressure. Couldn't figure out how to control my keeper with the right stick on breakaway's and free kicks, if someone will enlighten me on that issue it'd be great =)

Graphics are so so, a bit sharper textures maybe, and I like the new winter setting with the snow faintly falling, it's a nice touch.

Don't know what's going on with the shooting. Every shot seems to use the same animation, and it's like an outside of the foot shot with unbelievable power on it, doesn't look realistic at all. I haven't scored yet on amateur, and I'm used to trouncing the AI on Legendary. Every shot either goes wide or is fingertip saved by the keeper.

There's a few new sounds but nothing really noteworthy aside from some nice trumpet effects and some specialised player commentary ('Rooney won't be happy with that one' ; 'Ronaldo under pressure from the defense here').

Overall, a bit of an improvement over 07, aside from the shooting which is different, but not better or worse. Doesn't really seem worth buying if you have 07. I might pick it up for $20 but I certainly won't be paying full price. PES is still the benchmark for PC football gaming, and it looks like it'll stay that way in 08. Bring on PES 2008 and next-gen Fifa 09.

what about running with the ball ? it felt sooooo bad, feels like you dont have the control over the sprint.. with pes the player who your walking with reacts perfect when you touch the key to push the ball alot more forwward so you can run faster, in fifa it feels like its goed automaticaly
 
My Modded PES6 looks many times better than the Fifa 08 demo. The Players look like little kids playing . .the head:body ratio is awful. PES2008 I am hoping will allow much improved modding, like Improved quality of kits, sound, etc. and Expecting Great Gaming Yet Again :)
