Re: Nintendo Wii

it gives you that same feeling when we all played Mario 64.

Re: Nintendo DS

Not that good. I'd give a 7/10 because it's almost 95% of Fifa 07 on DS. If you liked it, you'll like the new one. The only difference is how you shoot PKs which is nice with the stylus.

Re: Nintendo Wii

Tuta the game is that good it is worth buying a Wii just to play it. Nintendo done a great job with this.

Re: Nintendo Wii

I can't believe it's only a week and 4 days left now, I hope it's dispatched early to arrive for Thursday.
This is close to gaming perfection.

Re: Nintendo Wii

got ghost squad today with the Wii Zapper. not sure if I gonna actually play it tonight though. Mario Galaxy is very hard to put down.

Re: Nintendo DS

I think my DS speaker has broken. I can get audio using headphones but not from the speakers :( Anyone came across this before?

Assuming I find my receipt, can I take the DS to the shop I bought from and get an exchange from them? Or would I need to send to Nintendo?

Re: Nintendo Wii

I was planning on getting a PS3 purely for Everybody's Golf and PES. However they've put EG back to March so I'm now thinking about getting a Wii instead. I bought one for a mate and he is totally in love with his.

What decent football games are out (or are coming out) for the Wii?

Also, I'd be putting the image through a projector so if I was playing Wii sports, the console would be behind me rather than in front. Would this scupper me playing games like Tennis and Boxing as they are meant to be played?

***EDIT*** - What are the chances of being able to play SNES MarioKart on the Wii?

Re: Nintendo DS

every DS footie games has ugly graphic...
i played all but nothing is worth playing...

and many online players in Japan have bad manner (turn off when theyre beaten).

Re: Nintendo DS

Nintendos are great consoles, but not for football games. No football game I have played on the DS or the Wii has been very good (Mario Strikers Charged is a great game but it's no simulation).

The new PES on Wii looks really good, the way that you control your player's runs looks really interesting. That is something to look forward to.

Re: Nintendo Wii

Nintendo warns of Wii shortages

A chronic shortage of Nintendo's popular Wii console could mean disappointment for those putting it at the top of their Christmas list.

The BBC has learned that high street retailers are struggling to keep up with demand for the console, which has been in short supply for months. Websites such as Wii-console.co.uk have been set up to help shoppers find out when stock becomes available. Nintendo said it was "doing everything possible" to keep up with demand. Its push to fill the shelves in time for Christmas will see it ship an extra 3.5 million consoles globally. It is not known how many extra consoles will make it to UK shelves.

In April Nintendo estimated a yearly shipment of 14m units, but that has now been raised to 17.5m. Despite this, the gaming giant admitted that not everyone who wants one is guaranteed a Wii this Christmas. "The demand for Wii hardware globally has been unprecedented and higher than Nintendo could ever have anticipated," said a spokeswoman. "Nintendo is now in a position in which seasonality demand trends are being broken, therefore the demand for Wii hardware is constant throughout the whole year globally. Due to this phenomenon it is possible that the demand for Wii hardware may outstrip supply," she said.

Slow trickle
From the high street, the message is very similar. "Although we're receiving regular deliveries from Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft and getting the products onto the shelves as fast as we can - it's possible that demand will outstrip supplies on some products, for example the Nintendo Wii, which has been hugely popular all through the year," read a statement from high street gaming specialist Game. "We're posting daily updates on our website at www.game.co.uk/stock to give customers the latest news on availability, and will continue to do everything possible to help our customers find the consoles they want."
Woolworths said that it was receiving a "slow trickle of stock every week" and also advised customers to keep an eye on their website. "The Nintendo Wii consoles have proved extremely popular with our customers and have been flying off the shelves whenever we get new stock in," said a spokeswoman.

Website meltdown
As a result of the huge demand, prices are beginning to be hiked, especially among smaller retailers with larger retailers bundling the console with several games. "It is very hard to buy a Wii console now without two or three games bundled in with it, which can push the price up to around the £300 mark," said Darren McKillop, the man behind Wii-consoles.co.uk. Mr McKillop said that when stock did come in retailers were struggling to cope with the flood of traffic on their websites. "In some cases their ordering systems let them down and they end up taking orders for stock they don't have and yesterday a major online retailer announced they had the Wii in stock and their website suffered a virtual meltdown as half the country tried to buy a Wii from them," he said. Wii-console.co.uk had seen a five-fold increase in traffic since the last Wii shortages at the beginning of the year, said Mr McKillop. He predicted the stock shortages would last well into the new year.

PATHETIC! Makes it wors my brother wants one for xmas. 5th on the list in gamestation i was 45th the had 40 in last week

Re: Nintendo Wii

Are Wii games region locked ? If I buy some in the USA then will they work on my European Wii ?? Also what about Wii Remotes ? Do they work in different regions ??

Thanks.

Re: Nintendo Wii

Wiis (or at least European Wiis) are region-locked. So you can't buy an NTSC game and play it on your PAL console without modification.

Not sure about remotes but I should imagine they work.

Re: Nintendo Wii

Some Wii games are region-locked, some aren't. There's a list you can find somewhere online for which games are locked.

Hardware should be fine, especially controllers.

Not that I know of, I was under the impression the sensor (which will sit in front of you, usually placed on top of the TV) so shouldn't pose any problems.

I've got WWE 2008 which looks fun, not sure how great it'll turn out but being able to do DX's taunt does look fun..............LOL.

Re: Nintendo Wii

Well, a very nice man from DHL has just turned up at work with my Wii under his arm!

It was a bit out of the blue, wasn't expecting anything until next week at the earliest. It's come with Paper Mario, Big Brain Academy and a wrestling game (Smackdown vs Raw?).

I'm not a big wrestling fan tbh - was going to sell mine as it's still in it's nice shiny wrapper. Is this a mistake?

Re: Nintendo Wii

Yes.

:) It's a novelty machine. Single player games didn't interest me too much (including Paper Mario and Zelda), the graphics really put me off it. The control scheme got me too tired swinging around but it can be fun at multiplayer. Things will get better when they implement proper multiplayer and use the controller as something worthwhile (lightsabre?) as half of the uses now are just gimmicks tacked on.

Re: Nintendo Wii

I was referring to the selling of the wrestling game there Dags, not the Wii itself. I think that's what was being asked.

The console is a good little console but so far only games like Zelda and ... erm ... give me a minute ... nope, I can't think of another one. Only Zelda has grabbed me so far. I don't like Super Mario Galaxy either, I genuinely am confused about the rave reviews it's getting. To me I might as well put Mario 64 on and play that, it's just the same except more quick-fire (and I loved every Mario up until Mario 64, which I hated, and I was a one-off in hating that as well).

EDIT: Now I've had time to think about it, I've remembered a couple; Super Paper Mario and Mario Strikers Charged are great as well.
