Next Gen Consoles

I could test "Ryse: son of rome" and Forza today on Xones. Not very impressed, liasing was very prominent and didn't feel as big a jump as I hoped from last gen. Forza felt a lot more polished, though, while "Ryse" didn't attract my attention as it consisted in arena combats (that felt quite ugly).
 
CDs are the only lossless retail format as far as I know. MP3s are horrible audio quality. I want these consoles to play FLAC as well. It's a big deal to those that want audio fidelity.
 
It's £100 more probably because of Kinect and the article goes on about Xbone not being 1080p when it's got games at 1080p. Everyone seems to be jumping on the Xbone is shit bandwagon at the moment. Is it true? We'll find out in a few weeks I suppose.
 
It isn't shit. And I don't think we'll find out soon. We'll all have to wait another year or two before we see devs taking advantage of both systems.

The point of the article isn't to say the Xbox one is shit.

The point is the general gaming media has been very apologetic about the way it underperforms compared to it's cheaper rival, something that doesn't happen with most other tech products out there.
 
It is all subjective at the end of the day, In gaming terms PS4 may offer more, but it seems like the differences are not that big? (From what I have seen)

Given that and the fact that Xbox is also going to be an entertainment system on top with what looks like seemless interaction between different media and with the extra Kinect added and compatibility, maybe they are not being apologetic but just stating the facts. maybe paying an extra $100 people wont mind paying for the things that the PS4 doesn't do? At the end of the day it is worth what people will pay for it, if it is priced too high for what it is, people won't buy it and if the PS4 is so great for the money then Sony will get everybody buying it.

I don't see why people get so upset about these things anyway, if you think PS4 is going to be much better then buy it and enjoy it. Why does anybody care if people think that the Xbone is still going to be good etc?
 
General consensus is PS4 is about 50% more powerful.

The beef some people have is the fact that lots of media are making excuses for the fact the most expensive console underperforms. Almost nobody made excuses for the Wii for instance, most gaming media banged on Nintendo for the lack of power on that console.

But do they use that 50% of power to make the games look or perform 50% better?

From what I have seen the differences are pretty minimal between games? Some things are better on PS4 and some better on Xbone.

Maybe Microsoft are better at using the power they have more efficiently?

I really don't know? but from what I have read and seen of footage at the moment there is not a big difference in gaming terms.

Microsoft also have a great infrastructure for online and looks like their Cloud infrastructure can enhance the overall package alot more in the future?

Whatever you put as a preference to you, then great. If you are looking for just gaming then you may be right, go for the PS4 but for me the extra things add up and I don't mind paying more for the Xbone.

After saying all of this though, I will probably be buying one in 6months when everybody can see the real differences and quality between the two.

I still haven't made my mind up 100% on which one to buy.
 
There are simply too many "maybies" from Microsoft right now. I think its just too risky to spend so much money in a console with so many obscure points at launch. Xone can turn out being a great console in the future, but it also can end up being a 500 dollars paperweight.

Its going to be a hell of a lot better than the 360 whatever happens and that's all i want, Next Generation.

All this better than this and that in this thread is doing my nut in.

Just pick the one your comfortable with and forgot about the supposed power and such and enjoy what you have chosen because like i say its going to be a lot better than what you have. Simple as that

I'm gonna start being XBone fanboy and start finding obscure sites with pointless comparisons :)

Probably that power advantage will be more useful for sony's exclusive game.

But this is exactly how the Sony fanboys have acted on this thread alone nevermind worldwide.
They feel the need to justify their decision but need to grow up seriously.
Probably a brand new experience for a lot of last gen kids.
