Next Gen Consoles

Well I hate the "we're totally doing the opposite of Microsoft" strategy of Sony.
They had no guts and they are welcomed as good guys for doing nothing.
DRM did not bother me (I'm not the only one) and I will stick with Microsoft.
I'm pretty sure MS will try to implement the binned features with a xbox live "platinum" in a couple of years.

??!!

My jaw just dropped. Are you saying that Sony are the bad guys here?

Because they didn't restrict used game sales?
Because they didn't region lock their console?
Because they didn't want people with no internet connection to not have the chance to play offline.
Because they don't want to charge you 599€ instead of 499€?

Are you blaming Sony for sticking with their policy since the Playstation One? Hating them for not putting restrictions on you?

Well good news MS dropped some of the lamer policies of the Xbone, still no sale from me, looking forward to my PS4 now, especially considering it will be much more powerful for games and will support indy devs, if you want DayZ on console it'll be PS4 not Xbone...

Just read about cboat at neogaf confirming family sharing was extended demo thing haha. Unbelievable.

I read yesterday on eurogamer that at the moment DayZ isn't coming the Xbox one due to the self publishing. No word of it coming to ps4 though... Could that be a conformation there? ;)

Watch the DayZ interview from E3 from gamespot. Rocket mentions PS4.

Yeah I'm sure I read that DayZ is definitely coming out on PS4, whereas MS require a publisher and hefty fees to be paid.

I'm excited for it, my mate has it on PC and loves it. Maybe if released as a standalone game, it'll be less prone to hacks and have some kind of structure to the game as a whole. But it's PS4 all the way for me, which is frustrating because allmy friends who I game with are staunch xbox users and are already preordering their XBOnes. There's a weird brand loyaly thing going on there that I simply don't get.

I don't know how people are now willing to buy an Xbox One when Microsoft tried to screw them over multiple times and Sony saving the free market gaming future.

PS4 all the way in this household.

People like to be screwed, just take jay as a perfect example.

Anyways i´m still giving a big F to M$... At least the end of DRM will bring a possibility of a :PIRATE: on the xone and that would be the only reason for me to buy one, just like the 360.

It is so bizarre to me that some of you think of these companies as "good" or "bad" because of their video game console design choices.

No corporation is innocent. But some want to suck all your blood out while others only want a tiny sip.

We must back the "not so bad" companies to force the worst companies to change.

Not at all. Im just saying that Sony had no idea what to do regarding all our real questions and waited for Microsoft to make a move. Then following the people reactions, they decided to go the other way. Not because they planned to develop "for gamers". I will never believe that.

How dare Sony go the opposite way, the way the consumers want eh.

I guess they spent the last 2 years sending mark cerny across the globe, asking des what they wanted from the ps4, putting their system together for gaming.... just to throw us off the scent of their REAL plan.

This info apparently came from a very reliable source within the industry:

So family sharing would be shit really.

What a bunch of assholes really, they wanted to make you feel privileged about your family playing on your game but even that they constrained

So Microsoft backed down then, right? Now all the threatened DRM-restrictions on xboxone-discs are history? Good! Then the game is open again between MS and Sony. I don't care for the emotions people tend to associate with companies: good bad, evil.

What a nonesense. Companies are out there to make money, and Microsoft saw that thanks to the huge uproar in the internet many people changed their preorders from xboxone to Ps4 and so they gave in, simple as that.

And I'm ok with it, the result is all that matters.

So the game is open again, but the xboxone is a bit more expensive so I guess PS4 will win out in the beginning, unless MS has much better games at startup.

I'm also sure that all the DRM-policies will return in a few years from now when both companies leave disc-based-games behind and go all-digital, so I guess it's the last round for those of us who actually want to possess games after buying them.
