NBA Thread

What strikes me of Miami is that at the start of the season it seemed that Bosh was a kind of a guest, while in reality, he's been possibly the most consistant of the big three in the playoffs. Wade has been incredible in some matches, but has disappeared at times, and Lebron is a great great player but it's not (by now and by far) the great killer that Jordan was in the last quarters. So, Bosh may be the only one of the big three that has never underperformed in the playoffs.

Who would have said that months ago?

Barea was impressive in the 4th match, as well as Dirk, but I got the feeling that Dallas needs Marion and Terry to step up sooner in the games if they want to win the ring.

Sixers, Clippers Discussing Iguodala-Kaman Trade

Amid much speculation of an Andre Iguodala-Monta Ellis trade, a new team has emerged: the Los Angeles Clippers. There is a reported deal in place to send Iguodala out West in exchange for Chris Kaman. From ESPN:
“The Clippers have long maintained that the only scenario that would convince them to part with Kaman — whose career has been plagued by injuries but who had an All-Star season in 2010 — is getting an elite small forward in return. Iguodala’s athleticism and defensive skills would figure to mesh well alongside star power forward Blake Griffin and young center DeAndre Jordan. The Clippers are determined to keep Jordan over Kaman as their center of the future as Jordan heads for restricted free agency. But it appears that the Sixers are weighing various trade possibilities as they gauge the market for Iguodala. Earlier this week, ESPN The Magazine’s Ric Bucher reported that the Sixers and Golden State Warriors have likewise discussed a trade that would swap Monta Ellis for Iguodala. Trade talk generally picks up leaguewide at this time every year, as the NBA draft approaches, but sources say that the Sixers could well delay any trade until after the completion of the team’s potential sale from Comcast-Spectacor to a group headed by New York-based leveraged buyout specialist Joshua Harris, as reported Tuesday by ESPN.com’s Henry Abbott. In both cases — Iguodala for Kaman or Iguodala for Ellis — current salaries for the players involved are close enough that the swap could be made without adding additional players to the deal to satisfy current salary-cap requirements. Iguodala and Kaman are both represented by agent Rob Pelinka.”

That would be a very good starting five for the Clippers.

The Clippers might be close to be better than the Lakers. Power shift in LA incoming.

Nah, the Lakers always get their way, I expect Dwight Howard there soon...

Wow, what a match tonight. Dallas wins 3-2 and it was truly deserved. Almost 70% in 3pointers that decided the match in the 4th quarter. One of the best finals matches I've ever seen. Amazing display by both teams, and specially Barea, Terry and Nowitzky.

I can visualise Dirk kissing his ring already.

Wade is a doubt for game 6, could be a huge blow for the Heat.

To me Wade did an offensive foul in the play he got injured, and the referees were giving him free throws all the night.

But even with the injury he was the best in Miami. He's truly a great player and I'm quite convinced that Lebron is shadowing too much, specially in the 4th quarters. If Wade is out for game 6 and Lebron continues playing like he is in the last 2 matches, Miami has got a problem...

Still, court advantage shouldn't be underestimated. I still think Miami is a favorite there, though I would love to be proven wrong.

Damn, still to watch a game finals! This Dallas team definitely deserves the title although I'm with Drekkard in this, if Miami beats the Mavs in the next game then it will be almost impossible to Dallas win in the 7.

I think the pressure is highly affecting LeBron. Perhaps, and in the case that Wade misses the game 6, it could be good for James, to show is leadership and get more involved into the game.

The Heat's problem is that Wade has been isolating so much in the last few games that his team-mates haven't been getting the ball with enough time left on the clock.

I think when hype makes a player it`s harder than when a player build his hype. Bosh loses the ball more than the average player. Very tricky these games very close unlike game 1 . I feel Wade needs to take the team back The Heat belongs to Wade Not LeBron. I do feel when Lebron has a poor game the media throws the blame on him solely .

The kids have their fun, the grown Man wins the game...

YouTube - Wade and lebron Mock Dirk Being sick.

Edit: Just realized LeBron James has a total of 11! points in 5 4th quarters in these NBA Finals. 11!

Scottie Pippen has face-palmed himself to death by now, because of his recent comments.

DeShawn Stevenson said after game 4 that LeBron checked out in the 4th quarter. We just know that someone with the competitive fire of MJ would score 50 the next game. Not LeBron though. He doesn't relish pressure like MJ or even Kobe did, he shrinks.

Absolutely right. Miami is Wade's House not LeBron's Kingdom.

Watching the way things are going probably in a close future we all are going to see James playing at LA for cheap trying to win the ring.

My Sky box let me down again!

I like LeBron unlike many of you it seems but yeah The Heat are definitely D-Wade's team. LBJ and Bosh are his two newly acquired side-kicks. That's way I see it.

airjoca, if your Gods are that good you think, why do you compare them with LeBron in bad times anytime you post here? any obsession?

Dirk Nowitzki says LeBron and Wade were “childish, ignorant” when mocking his illness

“I just thought it was a little childish, a little ignorant,” Nowitzki said. “I’ve been in this league for 13 years. I’ve never faked an injury or an illness before. But it happened. It’s over to me. It’s not going to add anything extra to me. This is the NBA Finals. If you need an extra motivation, you have a problem.”

Wade responded by trying to say he was actually coughing, and then claimed that he made a bigger issue out of it as a way to mess with the media.

“I wasn’t fake coughing,” Wade said. “I actually did cough. And with the cameras being right there, we made a joke out of it because we knew you guys were going to blow it up. You did exactly what we knew.”

And there you have it.

In conclusion: No one will believe Wade’s explanation, and Nowitzki, while possibly being slightly annoyed by the whole thing, really couldn’t care less.

Finish 'em tonight Dirk.

And the mavs did it! Totally deserved win to the best team in the court. Barea, kidd, terry, they were amazing. Dirk had a nightmare match in the first half. But when it counted, in clutch time, he brought the title home. Lebron was again missing in action in the big moments. I am very glad that the mavs won it. Glad for dirk, kidd, terry and because the nba owed a title to dallas. Congratulations!

I'm waiting for the replay to watch the game in full but I'm happy the Mavs won. Maybe now Dirk will get a signature shoe.

Time to put on my PHX tinted glasses again.

Kidd got his ring!

I love this game, mental state is immense and Miami did not had it.
I love how open the lockers are too, the videos of players trying to get motivated, then the after party, absolutely spectacular moments.

Congratulations to the Mavericks!

Fantastic PO performance. The prove that the team is much more important than the individuals (LeBron choke again in the Finals). Totally deserved.

Don't forget about Chandler!!! IMO the signing of the season, the player who given Dallas the missing piece to be a title contender.

Party in da house Dirk!
