Now Shogun has two contreversial losses oh his career. In both he deserved more.

Looking forward to Machida-Jones though I can't see anyone handling Jones.

Machida fights on the counter so Jones kinda plays into his game but Jones has a massive reach advantage again so can keep him well away, unless Machida quicker than i think

Jones is a amazing fighter all round and with his reach who can touch him it the first place?

Lets hope Anderson Silva moves up a weight :)

Silva v Jones would be truly epic. Possibly the most mouth-watering fight I can think of ever happening.

Really interesting. I hate it when some fans start booing the ground game. Shows lack of knowgledge in the sport.

Great event

Most fights were that quick they had to put in quite alot of fillers including showing a walkout of a prelim fight

How nasty was it watching back the finish of Mir vs Nogeria?

I watched the first replays then couldn't watch it again

I could only see it once. They replayed it a lot though.

What is confusing is that Nogueir could have avoided this. He had Mir almost finished but went for a sub maybe to prove he is the king of the ground game or he could have tapped. Now he has to face a long lay off. Shame cause he looked really good.

And damn the way Machida hit the ground like a sack of bricks. I really thought he had a chance after the first round.

The Second spoiler is the X-Ray and just after so click if you wanna see the damage

its just the camera angle, that's his forearm dangling off the bone where its snapped below his bicep i think

Looks like my Overeem prediction was correct. Some great fights are coming in 2012. When and if they do fight I have GSP taking out Nick Diaz, and Jon Jones knocking Anderson Silva off his pedestal.

Now he'll take on dos Santos. Overeem will have like 30 pounds on him.

JDS has his advantages coming into the fight as well. He's definitely faster than Overeem. It will be a standup war! Can't see this one going 5 rounds.

Yeah same. If it does go the distance, I think dos Santos will have better conditioning and take it therefore. Alistairs gets tired in long bouts and gases faster than most. But I don't see it going past couple rounds (maybe 3 but no more) and think Overeem will win.

i think the first round is very important for that fight. if it goes in to the second and so on then i give the advantage to dos santos

1st round when overeerm is strong can knock anyone out. but anyone can be knocked out in this game

interesting fight

JDS is a monster. He made Cain,Carwin, and Werdum look like easy fights and has never been in trouble.

But then there are Overeem's knees. Those are intense. I watched highlights of his previous fights before his last one and found out how brutal those knees are. No surprise, they finished Lesnar later.

Anyone watch the mainevent tonight?

Carlos Condit is your new Interim Welterweight champion, ladies and gentleman. Unanimous decision and due to face GSP probably sometime in November.

I thought Diaz won that fight. Looked much more like a champion and made Condit his bitch but I can see why some might give Condit the win.

i am a fan of Diaz, i also like Condit

however i thought Condit won the fight, Diaz seemed to have a hard time getting his boxing going because Condit kept him at range and still hit some dangerous shots

Condit won that imo

I'm a fan of Diaz, never took much notice of Condit before. But Condit won that won in my opinion. His movement, his attacks, his whole gameplan just worked so well.

Very good fight. A shame Diaz says he's retired but maybe people will have seen that if you keep dodging away when you get to the fencing, Diaz's main strength has been taken away.

Condit definitely won that fight but it was a close one. He won it because he landed 153 significant attacks while Diaz did 108 or something apparently. I saw the stats posted for it. And Condit apparently set a new record for number of leg kicks in a UFC fight.

Yes, Diaz did have more Octagon control and especially for the first 2 rounds pushed the fight, but overall like Dags said, Condit stuck to game play, never lost his cool even when being taunted like crazy and executed it to perfection landing effectively.

Just look at their faces after the fight as well. Who had more damage on it?

I think Condit won it fairly but it was a close fight and I'd given 2 rounds to Diaz actually where as 2 of the refs gave 4 rounds to Condit instead of 3.

In regards to Nick's retirement, I think it was one of the those heat of the moment outbursts after a loss from a really temperamental man. He won't stay retired. He's still young at 28, vastly experienced, lethal and one of the world's best and there are many BIG paydays left for him. He'll come back and fight again and again. I don't think he knows how to do much other than fight anyway. Not the sharpest guy. His interview post-fight was actually one of the most articular times I've seen him lol.
