MMA thread

I'd watch the foreign shows but I like to hear the commentary describing the moves, the fighters and their history etc. It's just not the same listening to a language you don't understand.

Dude the megashare links I posted has English speaking announcers. Its the HDnet (US TV) broadcast.

To be honest I think I think I would prefer to listen to some Japanese or Korean guy speaking than Goldberg and Rogan lol. At times Rogan is so biased its unreal.

I really liked the commentators that did the Sakuraba fight that Kabashi posted a while back. Plus I used to like the Pride guys(Bas Rutten and Mauro Ranallo) a lot better than UFC. Ranallo has annoyed me a little since hooking up with strikeforce. BTW I am trying to DL. The 720 version link wasn't working, and the other 5 part ones are taking forever. It only allows 1 download per 1:15. Still waiting to DL the 2nd part :(

EDIT: Thanks for posting the fight liger05. This is the commentator I was talking about. He is awesome. I'm already enjoying the card just 10 min into the hype up :)

EDIT 2: I think the 1st two fights are missing...

Not surprised Big Baby has retired because he is already a millionaire and had no desire or chin to keep going at his age

Rampage Jackson should host TV shows or something. He cracks me up whenever he has a cut-scene on TUF, just brilliant at telling stories and giving descriptions

In what way? He's a tit of a person and not a great fighter either. You sure you're not being biased because he's English?

You thought it was alright when he locked the lad in the toilet? Then proceeded to take the piss out of him for his claustrophobia when he had him in a headlock in front of the other housemates?

The guy is a cocky idiot and I've got no respect for him I'm afraid.

agreed

i first thought he was ok, but he took things to far

he is like alot of dick heads who think they are hard and they go and push it apon others who they know can't handle them

he is an alright bloke? he would prob slap you about in real life tim lol and then laugh at you

Spoiler

Jesse Taylor went on a rampage in LA by kicking out a limo window, harrassing the women in the hotel and shouting at the security that he's a UFC figher  Such a stupid way to act.

Read on Wiki that he sorted his act out and got back into the UFC but had one fight and was cut anyway

It was guys messing about barracading him in the toilet, they didn't know he had claustrophobia. Then he got out and went apeshit, McSweeney done bloody well to control him and not knock him out right there. It's a house full of guys who are supposed to be ultimate fighters!

Of course he went apeshit, McSweeney also took swings at him as well, and then took the piss out of him when the lad was trying to calm down sitting against the wall.

Being an ultimate fighter doesn't excuse you from being respectful to other people. I think you're on your own with that thinking, Tim.

Ah sorry it's not 100% confirmed yet!

MMABay have been able to confirm that the O2 Arena in London, England is currently being considered by officials to play host to UFC 112 on April 10th 2010.

Speaking to a source close to the situation this afternoon, MMABay were told:

“It looks like that’s the way things are going to pan out. There’s been a lot of talk behind the scenes about when and where they will return to the UK, but the O2 (Arena) on the 10th of April looks like the one they’re going to pick.”

The promotion has made the London arena their home away from home when visiting the shores of the UK, hosting UFC 75, 85 & 95 at the state of the art 16,000+ capacity venue. With former UFC welterweight champion, Matt Hughes already hinting at his involvement, UK fans must wait and see what other top names get added to the card.

Is anyone NOT an All-American? It seems when a fighter gets described, they're always an All-American

Why do fighters reach out and kinda paw out? Is it something to do with working out their reach?

If so, why don't they work it out by jabbing rather than hanging their arm out and grabbing? Why does the other fighter tend to do it at the same time? Why don't fighters immediately throw an attack in when the other guy has his arm outstretched like that?

Evan Dunham is quality :))

Well, he at least was the only one of the televised card that could finish a fight. Amir looked great but when he rocked the guy he went for a take down, and then tried to mount and wasn't able and it allowed the guy to recover. Lawlor and Escudero did the same exact thing. Gassed after the 1st and then brought nothing to the rest of the fight. And neither could put away a hurt fighter. I was really disappointed in the main event. I was routing for Gray, but his strategy and execution was shit. Neither deserved the win the fight. Now we are going to see Gray get a title shot after THAT performance? Come on! No one at the division deserves to hold Penn's jock right now.
