UFC 113 Josh Koscheck vs Paul Daley in the co main event on the 1st May

Comon Daley!!!!!!

Here we go!

British brawler Paul Daley will get his shot at the big time when he collides with perennial welterweight contender, Josh Koscheck, at the upcoming UFC 113 event from the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, on May 1, 2010.

"Kos" today confirmed the good news via Twitter.com, saying the electric 170-pound showdown will serve as the co main event of the major pay-per-view (PPV) event. And in all likelihood it will determine the next contender in a division stacked with talent.

Even before the stakes were raised with championship implications on the line, this one already had the ingredients for an explosive encounter inside the Octagon and out.

In fact, Daley has already insulted Koscheck, promising that he would "rock" the "Fraggle" if the pair ever touched 'em up, indicating that the American Kickboxing Academy (AKA) standout resembles a 1980s-era Jim Henson character.

That's not a compliment.

Strikeforce as well on the 30th

Diaz, Lashley and Cyborg are fighting

Diaz is always entertaining and apparent NFL legend Herschel Walker who is 47!! has his debut as well

UFC moves for Mayweather
January 21, 2010 – 1:48 pm by fightlinker

Remember last year where Dana White gleefully went head to head against boxing on PPV and got his butt kicked? This year he seems to have learned a lesson from that and has decided to move Montreal’s May 1st event a week back to May 8th in order to avoid competing against boxing’s Floyd Mayweather vs Shane Mosley fight – a match borne from the smoldering wreckage of a failed Mayweather / Pacquiao bout. Bravo on that one boxing. Bravo.

But just because he’s moving though doesn’t mean Dana isn’t going to bark a bit about it:

“We were trying to not go the same night as boxing but these [expletive] guys can’t get out of their own way,” White told Cagewriter. “I have never seen anything so unorganized, selfish and dysfunctional as boxing. It’s a joke!”

Even with the move, there might still be a conflict: another boxing bout featuring Juan Manuel Marquez was originally scheduled for the 1st and may be pushed back to the 8th as well. But I don’t think Dana will be as concerned with competing against him … while Marquez has pulled solid numbers in fights against Mayweather (1 million) and Pacquiao (400k), without a big opponent to pull promotional weight he sits more around the 200k number.

Besides, the key factor is in making sure your fight is the ‘It’ event for the evening. Against Mayweather, the UFC would be outgunned and the press would flock to Mayweather / Mosley. With Marquez, you only lose the boxing fans, and most of those people don’t watch MMA anyways.

Minus the womens fight, that was another good Strikeforce event! Seems to me that they're far more consistent than UFC at putting on good cards?

Even though it was an early stoppage Wes Sims is a joke and the result was no surprise. Wes Sims asking Lashly for a Greco Roman tie up at the start was pure jokes..

Very good event from Strikeforce

Diaz was impressive as he normally is and his boxing is up there with the best imo but the fight of the night had to be Lawler vs Manhoef just for the shock value because i didnt expect that in the slightest. Manhoef was looking very good with his strikes with Lawler being dominated and started to limp form the very hard leg kicks but then out of the blue a overhand right followed by a left on the floor and a punch under the refs nose and it was lights out for Manhoef in the blink of an eye

Check the stats, Lawer only landed 3 punches and it was those 3 that won the fight

I'm looking forward to this one, mainly to see Swick, Maia, Serra, Danzig, Guillard, Nover and Emerson. It's good to have seen all of TUF and recognise a lot more fighters :)

I must admit, I loved the previous Strikeforce card, it was awesome. The Miami card though I wasnt too impressed with.
