Manchester United Thread

I was in the East Stand at Old Trafford yesterday and have to say Rooney was immense. His link-up play was breathtaking at times. It would have been a perfect day if my car didn't break-down on the M5 half-way home :(
 
Why would we be? If we are to worry about Chelsea,we should be worry about Liverpool and Arsenal too.If we put our head down and focus on the finishing line,winning all of our remaining games,what is there to worry mate? I agree to Sir Alex's comments that we should win all our games on the road to have a real shout in winning the title.
 
Do any of you lot think we should be for Ronaldinho? There is strong rumours that the brasilian is in his last season at Barca as a big rift is threatening to rip the club apart.Remember that he snubbed us to come to Barca...Ronaldinho,Man United kit,number 10? Wouldnt that be perfect?
 
Oh God, do you guys believe EVERYTHING you read in the tabloids? Ronaldino won't come to England - he is a big pussy when it comes to weather and tough football.
 
I think you guys are having a laugh If you think Ronaldinho is ever going to United. Seriously, what on earth would be the sense in that, for himself and Barca. He's been involved in a small dispute with Rijkaard and Eto'o, that has most likely been blown out of proportion by the media. Nothing major.
 
yip like the ronaldo situation has, i'm sick of listening to liverpool fans sayin all these years " don't listen to everything you read in the papers" and when it says about ronaldo they never shut there mouths.
 
So Tim Howard has signed for Everton permanently now...
He's been in great form this season. Was hoping he'd get another chance at Utd next year, but I guess with Foster coming back & Kuszczak on the bench he'll get more games at Goodison.

Rumours, rumours, rumours

If Ronaldo was gona go he would have gone in the summer when he possiby had a chance with what happend in the World Cup etc. He has the best manager to deal with him in Sir Alex.

On another note I would have liked to have seen Howard given 1 more chance at United hes been in fine form this season for Everton but I guess the future is Foster

Top notch,Clockender....The thing about this Ronaldo situation is,he has that superstar character in him.Somewhere along his United journey,he might get too big for the club.I have this gut feeling that he is not United through and through.If he dont want to move,he would have made comments like Heinze..."I'm not going anywhere unless United want me to." Period.

With Kuszczak and Foster behind Van Der Sar, theres no chance for Howard. As good as he was in his first season with us, his performances and confidence saw a huge drop.
 
fosters form the year is immense,kuszczak is also a great keeper and will get his chance while Van Der Sar is out,i thought tim was outstanding in his first season and also is playin well this year and can just find himself unlucky not to be going back to man u, but evertons not a bad club and i wish him luck.
 
Howard isn't bad, but he was only ever going to be a stop gap while SAF looked for a world class keeper. He had a great first season but after that his form dropped immensely, and he was never going to get a chance after big Edwin turned up.

It hardly matters though. United's future is looking very good in the goal keeping department. Van der Sar can hopefully continue for a couple more seasons, while Kuszczak is a able replacement. And then you have Ben Foster as a quality young prospect.

Against Reading's "2nd String" side. Ronaldo was pretty poor, he had a 1 on 1 chance and he couldn't score. We really missed Rooney!
 
Reading were very impressive yesterday just as they were in December when they came to Old Trafford and nearly embarrassed us then.

Hats off to Coppel & his team's fighting spirit.

The People.
Manchester United are set for a summer clearout with Kieron Richardson, John O'Shea and Darren Fletcher heading out of the club. Owen Hargreaves and David Bentley are expected to join.

Taking it with a pinch of salt.Wouldnt like to see those three leaving and would like to see those two coming.Period.
 
I can't see O'Shea going but Richardson might. He is no Giggs and will only ever be a bit player. Fletcher is the same but maybe he would like to be a big fish at Rangers, Celtic or Hearts.
 
Well I read that there are apparently 60 players on professional contracts at the club so Fergie is getting ready for a summer clear-out. If we lose those three but replace them with better players I won't be complaining. :)
 
I actually still have hope for Fletcher. He was more creative with his passing than Carrick on Saturday, and was pretty solid overall. He's not world class, but he'ld o the job. Richardson...sigh. So much potential, but it just doesnt' look like its going to come off for him.

60 players includes all the reserves right? I bet its a chunk of them. Rossi and bardsley are my worries, I think they're worth keeping one more year to see, but yeah, time for some of the fat to be trimmed!
 
Why is Rossi a worry? He's still a great player, just doesnt get a chance cuz he's still too young and he's on loan anyway.
 
We can make big problems by replacing the players mentioned for better players. Better players want to play every week and could get pissed off if they're not playing. Look what happened with Ruud.
 
Thats the thing about clearing players.We might get the wrong player out too and the better players we would get wants to get into the first team.That is why I would prefer to keep Fletcher,O'Shea and Richardson in the team.They are our 2nd Stringers,without much moaning and just get on with the job.Having two world class sides is virtually impossible.
