Manchester United Thread

If Barcelona play a team with Messi, Eto'o, Ronaldinho and Ronaldo they would lose half the time. Unless they beat teams 10-9, not a one of them is going to put in a tackle or track back. It makes no sense, unless, of course, Ronaldinho is bored and fancies some drab weather.

I'd guess we'd get someone in return, but I just doubt that a spanish player is going to want to be OT over the Camp Nou. Don't know what's gonna happen.

Fortunately SWP was absolutely terrible tonight, which should remind people of Chelsea's ability to nurture young talent...

In the right frame of mind,I would only agree to sell Ronaldo to Barca if they agree to sell us Ronaldinho.Didnt Bucktooth famously turn us down in order to join Barcelona? He has won almost everything with Barca and what is there left to conquer? Our number 10 kit is STILL vacant anyway.

From the BBC's gossip column:

Cristiano Ronaldo is planning to move into acting once his playing career is over. He said: "I could see myself as an actor. Playing the role of a comedian is more difficult but I might be capable of doing anything."

This is a natural career progression of Cristiano in my opinion, he's quite good at acting even now!

He could star in a submarine drama with J.Cole, Robben, Drogba, Pires, Vieira and Eboue.

dive, dive dive!
Add Xavi Alonso to that list as well :) and lets not forget Ashley Coles dive against us at Highbury when Keano was no where near him!!! DISGRACE!

I remember Viera producing an atrocious dive a while back when he still played for Arsenal. The worst one I have ever seen!

'Edwin van der Sar is definitely out after breaking his nose in the victory at Tottenham last Sunday. Tomasz Kuszczak will deputise, with Reserves' stopper Tom Heaton likely to be on the bench.

John O'Shea - who took over in goal from van der Sar for the final ten minutes at White Hart Lane - is also unavailable after picking up an ankle knock whilst on international duty for the Republic of Ireland earlier this week.

Michael Carrick (groin) and Cristiano Ronaldo (head cold) should hopefully be fit to face the Addicks, while Wane Rooney has recovered from the hip injury which forced him off after an hour against Spurs.'

Fergie on Ronaldo talk

"The boy's happy here. Everything's fine, there are no issues. Speculation is always rife. I think in modern day football you have to accept it. I pick up the paper sometimes and read the players I'm going to buy. I say 'Well that's an interesting one, I've never thought of him'. So you're doing my scouting now. It's speculation, you're going to get that. It doesn't bother me. It's always an attraction in a better climate, obviously. It's always going to be that way. When you think about it what you can get at Manchester United, every week 76,000 people, you're not going to get that anywhere. I know that Real Madrid, Barcelona and Milan when they've got big games they can fill the place without question. They don't fill them every week. Old Trafford is full every week which is fantastic. He knows he's at a good football club."

Today is tell a friend about RN day. Believe it or not there are people who don't know about the fanzine and the great news service we provide. So if you know a Red who is blind to the best United news service on the net, let them know our web address - and tell them to support from the off!

from the BBC

'1. Won more Premiership matches than any other club this season (20) and drawn fewer (three).

2. Lost three top flight matches, opened the scoring in 20 and failed to score in two. Only Chelsea match United in all these three categories.

3. Own the strongest attack in the highest League, having scored 61 goals in 26 outings (that's one every 38 minutes on average).

4. Conceded 18 times in the uppermost echelon. Only Liverpool have a tighter defence with 17 goals leaked.

5. Conceded the opening goal in six Premiership matches - Chelsea have gone behind from the opening whistle on only five occasions.

6. Boast the highest number of different scorers in the top League (15).

7. Premiership matches involving United have generated more goals than any other club (79; 61 for, 18 against).

8. Challenging for a seventh successive home League victory, to extend their unbeaten home League run to 11.

9. Defeat to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on 21 January is the club's only reverse in eight Premiership outings. Defeat to Arsenal at Old Trafford on 17 September is the Red Devil's only loss in 41 home matches in all competitions.
10. An FA Cup fifth round tie home to Reading comes after this, before the Champions League visit to Lille. Two Saturday lunchtime fixtures away to Fulham and Liverpool are then scheduled to follow, before the home tie in the Champions League.'

Add rooney too don't forget his great dive against Arsenal two years ago !!;) the guy for this one deserved an oscar:lmao:

that 'dive' just doesn't compare. Every pundit said penalty when they first saw it and there was contact. Because it was such an important game it was blown out of proportion.

He could star in a submarine drama with J.Cole, Robben, Drogba, Pires, Vieira and Eboue.

dive, dive dive!

Lujnberg as well :) He was diving in the World Cup 2002, against abcdefg even though they were up 3-0 and went onto score a lot more.

Yeah sorry you're right it was a clear penalty...

why the sarcasm? Did you watch the game? I watched it live and everyone thought it was a penalty. Only when it was slow motioned did it look like a dive unlike half of your teams efforts.

of course i watched the game, and i think only man u fans thinks it was not a dive but you're right only arsenal, liverpool chelsea have divers

nice video but it doesn't prove anything. Even if there was no contact, the intent was there and as we've seen recently, that's enough for it to be a penalty. Most refs would have given it.

so any of the following acts are dives?http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BrvRGTVkv6Y

as in almost each case the intents were there

some good dives but also some that are a bit iffy, but the point about that Rooney dive was that it wasn't the most blatant but probably the most important, so Rooney becomes a diver. It's like that joke about the guy that fixes roofs and mends cars, but he only shagged one sheep. Ronaldo is a serial diver as are Robben, J. Cole, Owen and Johnson whereas Rooney isn't. That's why he wasn't on the original list.

Its just a boring day at work for the lads but business is still as usual.Hats off to Charlton for making it hard for us.I hope you guys see the difference what Carrick is not playing.Scholes just do not know what to do.Alongside Carrick,Scholes is the creative one and he is free to exploit opponents as he knows that Carrick will always have his back.Alongside Fletcher like last night,he is reserved which in turn limits our team's attacking chances from the middle. This was the sole cause of our stop-start football against Charlton.A win is a win nonetheless.C'Mon United as we march on towards Wembley.Reading is next at OT.
