Manchester United Thread

I wouldn't worry about Ronaldo. He's supposed to be Ferguson's favourite, and I'm sure the feeling is reciprocated. After the great season himself and United are having this year, I can't see why he would want to go to a team in deep despair like Real.

Im a bit disappointed we havent signed a midfielder in Jan permanent or loan. With the league run-in, Champions League and FA Cup injury problems, suspensions or players needing a breather will play a big part especially as those players could be Scholes and Carrick. We just dont have the back-up quality needed for those positions!

Anyone know how to watch the United game in the UK today? Is it on Sky? Online streams dont seem to work for me anymore ever since I got my router. Unless it uses Real Player but those arent very popular.

Actually I have tickets to tomorrow night, oops this is the United thread, better say something about Man U, glory glory Man United.

Well you've deffo gone up in my estimation Dermot, would have loved to been able to go over the pond to see this set of gigs.I've seen the set list from the first two nights. So what night did you catch the TSC one?

Have you tried the various tuturials and things? I used to have real issues til port forwarding sorted me out. the website www.football4less.com has a whole lot of info on how to get things working, and it has links to the games. I'll be watching using the tvuplayer, on star sports where apparently there'll be English commentary. Let's have it United!!

He was benched against Portsmouth as he should have been been which seemed to give him the kick up the arse he needed and now you see the result of that dont you prick!

Yeah the set was amazing, I was lucky to grab 2 tickets off e-bay, best live version of That's Entertainment i've ever experienced. Lots of energy in the crowd feeding off him, one of the best concerts i've seen @ MSG, topped only by U2 maybe.

Glory Glory Man U

You're really adamant on the Rooney subject aren't you csaunders. A couple weeks ago he was mildly questioned because he wasn't on top form at the time. Probably true as well. That doesn't mean anyone was directly questioning the man in general. So don't take it so seriously.

We didnt buy Rooney for goals at that time as we already have Ruud.Rooney never did have a scoring touch and was never a real striker. He is however similiar to Eric Cantona,he is a forward. Not known for scoring but better off assisting and linking the midfield with the attack.Drifts in and out of the box, creating chances plus the ability of producing goals also. Its only right that Ferguson has been purring how his young star is so much similar to the great Cantona. The only attributes that Wayne lacks are the poise, composure and presence that Eric has. Those however will be nurtured with time and experience.

Good stuff from Evra

From correspondents in Paris
February 02, 2007

A BAZOOKA would be needed to start transfer talks for Cristiano Ronaldo, the Portugal star's Manchester United teammate Patrice Evra joked on French radio overnight.

Ronaldo's agent Sergio Alves was quoted in The Sun newspaper as saying offers for next season might be looked into if they came from a big club like Real Madrid or Barcelona.

However, Evra said that if Alves wanted to start discussions, he would do well to bring a bazooka with him.

"Any agent asking for a transfer request for Cristiano Ronaldo would have to come with a bazooka," Evra said.

"Sir Alex Ferguson would know exactly how to welcome him. Protective equipment would be needed before going into the manager's office."

If you havnt seen this, its absolutley hilarious  one of the funniest scenes.. no videos I've seen in a long time. I dont normally hype things up but this video is really weird and amusing. There is a bit of homosexual loving in between where it cuts and you don't know what the hell is going on! But our Evra again steals the show after 1min 25secs he randomly bursts out with "Yo yo, motherfucker Hasselbaink!!! Suck my pussy Lampard"!!!! Cant get better than that, that's just a classic!!!! I will always regard him as a legend from now on.

Watch and enjoy

The match is tomorrow but I can see us dropping points. Though there is reason to be optimistic with Rooney's return to from, ronaldo firing all cylinders and Larrson settling in well, we may just be strong in end with our quality up front. However United don't seem to have too much luck against London sides for some reason.

Does Mark Clattenberg get paid by the yellow card?
Vidic - 1 Tackle 1 card
Rooney - 1 Tackle 1 card
Larsson - 1 Tackle 1 card

Missed one pentaly, missed Ronaldo dive. Great job from the referee so far.

Fantastic result for United yet AGAIN. Really good to see how Evra & Vidic have settled in. The goal difference is phenonemal and we actually KILL teams off unlike last season. I watched highlights of Chelsea last night and they are so mundane to watch but they do have enough to keep chasing United.

Arsenal & Liverpool dropping points (against 'small' clubs haha Benitez you fat twonk) just kept the weekend from being perfect apart from the Chelsea win.

:)

I want Man U to take the title away from Chelsea this season but I really wanted Ronaldo to miss that pen against Robinson. :D

fantastic stuff from the boys, Spurs attempted to really get at us for the first 10-15 mins, for the most part it worked, then after that, we asserted our dominance

Ronaldo shows yet again that he has the end product, Vidic attacks the ball like Brucey used to, and O'Shea in net...phwoar...(though actually VDS made some excellent saves today)

Even if we don't win the league this year, there should be no question of what team has played the best football in England so far over the course of the season.

Can you imagine Chelsea playing like that after going up 2-0? Just attack-attack-attack. Awesome.
