He plays striker but recently has played accross the midfield
sorry mate, he only plays striker in a pinch. Not his natural positoin. This year he started the majority games out on the left, and sometimes right. And in a pinch he played attacking mid, not nearly enough IMO. His first year in MLS he played striker only because his defense was atrocious. That has gotten much better, and the last two years he has spent in the midfield.

Looks like Fergie is worried about Smith's form - sending him out on loan isn't a terrible idea, hopefully just til the new year!

What is concerning is what's now going to happen when Saha gets hurt, with Ole out, Rossi on loan, Smith on loan, surely not a 4-5-1 with Rooney alone up front? Do we really need to reconfirm that it doesn't work?!

Or...is this an indication that someone is on their way in January?

We could always put Ronaldo as a second striker with, dare I say it, Fletcher on the right...

Isn't Park back soon?

Sir Alex MUST have another signing (a striker) planned. Theres no way he would be that stupid to loan him out at a time like this.

Rossi's deal was only until January anyway so he's definately coming back unless they change their minds.

Glazer wants him to play Quarterback for Man United though.
Did you once make a funny statement? If you did it must have been so long ago i cant remember, all this from a geezer with an Irish name, who lives in NYC who supports a team almost entirely french who play in North London.
Reality check, you cock.

M8 do you remember ever seeing that Halloween episode of The Simpson's, the one where the characters from advertising boards came alive( homer was memorised with he do-nut guy). Well do you remember how the town got rid of these alive characters, well I think the same attitude should be made in this case.

Don't say I didn't warn you.

And a bit of quick dry cement brings back a 3 point cushion :D

Good solid performance, coped with Blackburn pretty well I thought, Rooney should have had 2 but things go that way sometimes. The defence doesnt seem to shit themselves anymore Vidic has came on heaps and bounds he has been solid this season.

All pressure on the goons and scousers tomorrow both have got to win to even have any kind of sniff of keeping up with the pace of United and Chelski!!!

Glazer is thinking of this as the new logo for next season:

and there's a pic of Rooney in the new home kit as well:

What do you guys think?

Oh, oh I see what he did there, he took 'football' and United have an 'American' owner, and so 'American Football'. Oh my, that's genius. Does his wit know no bounds?

We're doing well at the moment. I just hope we don't get the usual "we're gonna win the league" from the players. Let's just keep our heads down and work hard.

Surprised to see Smith didn't go on loan - I guess he figures that he'll get a shot at least as a sub in the next few games, especially with CL coming up.

I think the Celtic game is now incredibly important for us, if we can rest Scholes and Giggs for the Benfica game and have them fresh for Chelski, we should have a shot.

Is Adu arriving at Carrington soon?

We're looking too far ahead. Lets get Sheff Utd out of the way first. Imagine how we'd be reacting if we lost that game. If we lose or draw that, it changes everything.

We need to concentrate on the League 1st and foremost I think. Champions League is just a bonus IMHO. Id prefer us to stop Chelski doing the Triple Premier League Crown's on the bounce.

We defintely should avoid complency, especially against Sheffield United. I remember last season when we and everyone else expected to walk over Sunderland at Old trafford, then it ended in a unexpected draw. We should concentrate on that result so we can go into the chelsea match 3points clear. So if the worst thing happens that we lose God forbid, then we are at least level points with the scum.

Thats exactly how I'm looking at this. If we stay ahead, a draw will also be a good result. As a matter of fact, a draw for Chelsea will probably feel like a loss.

This is kinda worrying me. This aint the first time Evra has come out and said this. It'll be sad if he eventually asks to leave cuz he's starting to really improve now.

It's always raining and the food is catastrophic."

hahaahahahahaha oh man, do these footballers realize there rich enough to higher a personal chef... this kind of talk never ceases to amaze me... Like when crespo said there was nothing to do in london!!! HA HA HA!

I love how Skysports take out the positive comments that Evra has said and twist it to make out he is unsettled and unhappy at Old Trafford. Here is the full interview. Note hrtr he says 'Life here is so fantastic. Each day I thank God to be playing in a club like this. How many people would dream of being in my place....wouldn't swop it for the world!......"

SENLIS, France (AFP) - Manchester United's French defender Patrice Evra has painted a grim picture of life in England - catastrophic food, awful weather, macho football - but he wouldn't swop it for the world.

Evra arrived at Old Trafford from Monaco in January and his performances since joining Sir Alex Ferguson's team have earned him a France recall for Wednesday's friendly against Greece.

Evra took time out from preparing to earn his fifth cap at training here on Monday to lift the lid on his life in Manchester.

"When I left Monaco in January the first six months in Manchester were really difficult.
"I never expected that.

"It was hard for my family, my wife. I was in a hotel for half a year, I didn't speak the language.

"The food is truly catastrophic, and it rains all the time. For my wife and my kids it's not easy.
"When there's no training, when there's no match, it's a DVD under the quilt to keep warm."
But far from wanting to hop on the first flight back home Evra is loving every second of his time at United.

"Life here is so fantastic. Each day I thank God to be playing in a club like this. How many people would dream of being in my place?"

He says getting his first recall to the France team after a two year spell in the wilderness will put him on level terms with his Premiership teammates.

"It makes you feel good (getting selected). I'll have the impression of doing the same job as the other players at Manchester. During international weeks it's easy to get a game of table tennis, as there are only two of us left at training. Now it feels good to be picked."

Evra, asked to spell out the differences of the game in the French league and the Premiership, reflected: "Physically if you're not tough you can't play in England.

"I hadn't understood that when I first arrived.

"I turned up with my skill but here you have to be first tough, then you learn to play the ball.

"In France I had time to lift my head. Here, as soon as you get the ball you're being attacked at full pelt by the midfielder or striker."

He said missing out on being included in France's World Cup squad had hurt badly.

"It was very difficult. I locked myself away in a gym during the holidays. I was angry with myself. It was a big blow."

He dosent wank...he meditates like that time shown in a video...hahahaha.I'm sure its really tough when your selected team mates go on international duties and you are left behind to do personal training.
