Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - FA Cup Final Week!!
Dont be dumb Runedge. I know how crucial it is for supporters of ManUtd to take some positives out of this disappointing season, however, it will be very dumb to do so at the expense of Arsenal's season. Arguing along your lines, and with the concensus that Chelsea are the team to beat, then the fact that Arsenal are the only team not to have lost to Chelsea all season counts for more positives than outplaying Arsenal ( a team you beat twice(dont count the Carling cup win over the reserves) this season) and lost to eventually. Secondly, how on earth can you consider your outperforming us and losing to be your ultimate positive for season? Hasn't this sort of performance been the underlying reason for your downfall in recent seasons? You guys played many teams off the park, had millions of chances and yet squandered them, and ultimately lost games or dropped points. It worries me that a repeat of such a performance in the biggest of your season leaves you in merriment and hope for the future. Well, in that case, I must say Arsenal and Chelsea will be quite happy with your sentiments. Now let me finish by saying that, in Arsenal's case, the fact that we managed to win a game in which we were completely woeful brings some refreshment to us fans. That was the kind of performance our team has not been able to produce. Arsenal get into a tight game, in which we do not score the first goal or hold a good goal advantage and there is every chance in hell that we will falter and lose. It didnt happen on this occasion. We won the FA Cup, didnt go trophyless, second in the league, never lost to the team to beat (Chelsea), scored the most goals, had about 11 clean sheets out of our last 13 (including the FA Cup final (not counting penalties))-Now that's a positive any Arsenal fan can take into next season considering how we let in so many goals during most of the season.
In closing, you might want to come up with better reasons as to why ManU will be much better off next season as compared to Arsenal, rather than basing it off one game which, ironically showed us overcoming some of our weaknesses albeit in the midst of dreadful productiveness, while ManU continued on the same path of not scoring goals.
