When you say you are happy with the loss simply because you outplayed us, I find it hard to believe. However, even if that is true, I can guarantee you that you would have been happier with a win regardless of whether it came about by playing better than us or worse.
lucasetor said:
I also find it hard to see how a win for us means more than one for you. You are in thrid place for the second year in a row, your team just got bought by an American leaving in his wake grief and despondency among your faithful (see fan demonstrations etc.) Arsenal were second in the league (never done worse since 1998), the only team to provide some semblance of a challenge to Chelsea (never lost to them). So there.
Think what you want. I dont really care. I personnally dont give a damn. Maybe if you had won the title, then I would have something to care about.
We already won the FA Cup last year. Which was a disappointing season anyway. Us winning the FA Cup again this year wouldnt have been any improvement over last season. Sir Alex already said this season that his real target is winning the title or the CL cuz he also feels that a club of our standards arent satisfied with just the FA Cup. You think guys like Rooney joined us just to win the FA Cup?
I'm happy we played well cuz I always use the last day of the season to look back and compare how much we've improved over the year. Last year, Ronaldo played well up until the final where he put on an even greater performance which IMO, made him a better player. This year, guys like Fletcher, Ronaldo and Rooney improved. People seem to forget that we have a lot of new faces in the team that havent won the title yet so we're still in a transition period really. Maybe if we didnt have those injuries, things might have been different.
But Arsenal's team is the exact same team that went undefeated last year and won the title. This year they finished second by a big margin.
So if you look at it, Arsenal look like they're in a declie while our next season looks promising.
I'll be honest, I have been more upset when we drop points to some of the other teams in the Presmiership than losing this final. I dont think I've ever been so happy after losing a final.

The thing is, I dont care about this loss. I was more upset when Chelsea won the title.
But those Gooners keep trying to prove that I AM upset. Its almost as if they want me to be upset.

This is off-topic, but i'd rather win the CL and come 5th then win shit all and come 3rd. The Champions League is the biggest club competition in the world, winning it means a lot more than qualifying for it.

Fair enough but at the end of the day you got 2 be in it 2 win it.

Its time to stop trying to pick positives from your season and just accept it, you've under-achieved once again.

People would have said that even if we DID win the FA Cup. Thats the way I look at it. Our season has been crap so an FA Cup isnt gonna salvage anything for us. Man Utd fans are pissed off at the fact that we lost the title for 2 seasons running which we're not used to.
But we've never retained the FA Cup under Sir Alex and that still hasnt changed, big deal.

I true its been a crap season regardless ANOTHER 3rd place 15+ points behind the champs.

We need new blood especially challenging Ruud as he is always guaranteed a spot even if not quite 100% which is wrong.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - FA Cup Final Week!!

Thats what I said before the second Milan gae but people here argued that his record is great so he only needs time to adjust himself and should get back to scoring goals again.

IMO, thats just harsh on guys like Smith who have proved they can score and are in a better physical condition. Everyone on MUTV after the Milan game said Smith should have played. But Smith is always gonna be considered the utility man like O'Shea just because he can also play in midfield.

Sir Alex recently said that Rossi and Pique are going to be in our Champions League squad for next season which is great for both of them. Hopefully if we win the first leg of the qualifier with a convincing win, we could play Rossi and Pique in the second leg.

Its kind of pathetic that the potential destroying of a truly great English club is a butt of jokes and taunting by Arsenal fans!

If you had deal with plastic Man Utd fans everyday of your life saying how great and rich they are and mocking the fact that you can't compete in the transfer market i'm sure you'd crack a smile.

To be quite honest I don't feel any sympathy for at all. Nothing has happended yet!!!!!

I feel for teams like Wrexham who may cease to exist!!!! You might become mediocre, who cares. Nobody stays at the top forever.

You get what you give mate. You've all benefitted massively from being floated on the stock exchange, now you're seeing the other side of the coin and thus started throwing your toys out of the pram.

'Not for sale' my arse. Your club has been for sale since 1991, that's what it means to be a PLC (PUBLIC limited company), anyone with enough wong and impetus can buy your club whenever they want.

The only pathetic thing is the 'hardcore' of Man Yoo fans who still clutch desperately to the fallacy that their club is owned by 'the fans'. Bullsh*t! Your club has been swapped and shared by opportunistic, loadsamoney wideboys like Magnier and McManus for well over a decade. Any protests should have been conducted when you floated in '91.

Glazer is a businessman, he's not a rich guy from just throwing money away. You should all just calm down and give the guy a chance.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - FA Cup Final Week!!

Gotta give up to the lads on saturday, we played them off the park and as with the rest of our season we rue all the missed chances...

As usual the United supporters we're outstanding, getting behind the team throughout the game, and as usual the goons we're pathetic choosing to chant usa than get behind the team, but thats goons for ya....

So all in all we played well enough to show there is plenty of life left in us yet...

Roll on next season!!

he does but cmon this is just food for all the haters out there, I mean just look at all the pricks chanting usa, like we give a sh*t..

truth is no-one knows whats gonna happen, but the mentality of the people who wanna see us fail is that they hope it fucks us up...

I prefer to talk about the footballing side of things, rather than stuff we know nothing about...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - FA Cup Final Week!!

I agree give the guy a chance but pathetic chanting!

Support your bloody team!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - FA Cup Final Week!!

Maybe Glazer will turn us into an even better team.
Who knows, maybe Man Utd fans will eventually start chanting "USA" too.

Glazer hasnt done anything yet so theres no need to worry.
Its when he starts to sell players and raise prices that people should start worrying.

Surely hes gonna raise prices anyway, your season tickets are amongst the cheapest in the Premiership

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - FA Cup Final Week!!

That is true. But selling our players to raise money is the real problem.

maybe mate, maybe...

ticket prices we're put up prior to this happening anyway, but they've been amongst the cheapest for so long anyway that I dont mind that, if we had to start paying as much as some clubs then i'll be pissed...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Rio to Barca??

Few quiet reports coming out that Barca are offering £30mill for Rio, and that we might accept....

Another target, De Jong of Ajax has stated that he will play in Holland for another year...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Rio to Barca??

How much money should we expect from selling Miller, Bellion, Kleberson, etc?

realsitically, not much...

but i'd wait another season with them anyway...

Even Miller?
I havent seen the guy in ages. Atleast Bellion plays for the reserves so he's developing his ability. And Kleberson plays as often as guys like Phil Neville or O'Shea.
But Miller has completely disappeared from the squad.

yes even Miller, he shows on the training pitch that he's a tidy player, its just a case of finding the right position and him being ready when his time comes...

to me rio is the best player United have, without him, we surely never would have gotten 31 clean sheets....

maybe, for me Heinze is a better CB than Rio, I think the main reason was that the defense was alot more organized this year...

Rooney is becoming our best player, he is the only genuine world class player we have...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Rio to Barca??

I cant see him leaving. We made a mistake in selling Stam and I'm sure Fergie isnt making that mistake again.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Rio to Barca??

I just found this at Skysports.com :
Malcolm Glazer has submitted his takeover plan at Manchester United.
The American has finally outlined his vision of the future for Saturday's beaten FA Cup finalists after a wave of resentment to his takeover from supporters and pundits alike.
A formal offer document has been sent to shareholders, who have been handed a June 13 deadline to decide whether they want to sell their stake to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers owner.
More to follow..

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Rio to Barca??

Oh, and Barca say that they're not going to make a bid for Rio.

Club director Txiki Beguiristain has confirmed that Rijkaard's summer wish list does not contain the name of Ferdinand.
''Barcelona do not normally comment on speculation published in the papers,'' Beguiristain told skysports.com.
''But on this occasion I will say that we're not interested in Rio Ferdinand.
''Our objectives for next season are in different places.''

I dont think he made a mistake, he identified a problem in his game and moved him on (we only just got paid on that deal, how many years later!!)
its the same with rio, there are a few aspects in his game that are infuriating, if we get offered 30mill then take it is my opinion....

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Rio to Barca??

If Barca are prepared to give us £30 mill for Rio, we can really strengthen our squad with that. Rio is good, but he's not irreplaceable.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Rio to Barca??

OK. Lets assume for a second that he left and we have £30milion in our hands. What do we do to fill his space?
