Manchester United Thread

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

10. is out of date.... we've won 6 times now.

Anyway, i hope for another great match tonight. Im off now to prepare.

As much as i would love to see a thrashing by Milan, i'd actually hope for a really balanced game like 2 weeks ago.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Good luck lads....... You need it.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Very proud of Milan. What an excellent performance by our whole back line. Gattuso was spectacular, the reason why he would never leave Milan.

Milan was controlling the game from the first whistle, and was confident for 90 minutes. imo we deserved the qualification.

What a beautiful atmosphere at San Siro too.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

ive just got something to say, i truly believe that when you're down 1-0, 2-0 on aggregate, we must need to play with a bit more urgency (sarcasm, i really mean tons more urgency). truly gutted over the result, giggsy got unlucky but from there on in, i really didn't see us getting one back.

every header was either won by them, or won by us but straight to them...

fair play milan, now we must take the fa cup (again) and concentrate on finish top 2 in the league

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Anyone notice that little play by Gattuso at the end with Kaka? Or when Gattuso went to Heinze yelling COME ON

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Milan took the piss out of our team and im absolutly gutted! We were no match. Stam showed Fergie how stupid he is to sell him. Rooney and co in attack got marked out the game. Cocky chelsea go through to make the night worst. Giggs brakes his nose. We looked a spent force out there.

Overall worst night ever.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Hats off to Milan, excellent performance from them tonight, just what can you do ?
It was a tough task to start with, would have been a completly differant game if Giggs' shot had have gone in, but that didnt happen

Well played Milan

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Massively dissapointed, but at the same time, it may not have been our year really. I think its time for SAF and the execs to start finding young players to take over for Keane and the old guard, and keep the rebuilding going. Milan were fantastic because they're all just about at the end of it really so hugely experienced, or at least at their peak. United have some great young players, and a lot to look forward to.

Hopefully Ruud won't lose his confidence, i didn't get to see but apparently it was his for the taking. Anyway, there'll be next year, so lets make sure we don't have to qualify...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

milan are quality at the moment. they show individual class and coherence at the same time and that reminds me of 2002/2003. manchester should have done more against this rigid defence.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

...ryan should have play the ball down to ronaldo...!!! i think we had won the game!!! this was the cracking point...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Thought that was one of our most disappointing peroformances for a long time. We lacked the spirit and the soul which Milan had in abundance. What hurts me more is that we didnt even put up a fight. Milan were a diffrent class though. After United they have always been my seond team so would like to see them take the crown.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Milan are class. They were the better team. End of story.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Milan are a truly great team and played professional game. What was ronaldo thinking squaring up to cafu like that he should have more respect. I hate when youngsters get all hot headed like that.

Giggs definitley broke nose you could see it was bent afterwards, felt a bit sorry for him, its like Beckham braking his nose(end of the world). There was no fight in United tonight, we had to dig in and we didnt. We should have changed to 442 like what chelsea did tonight which would have shcoked our opponents.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Milan are always superb at San Siro, remember that.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Congrats Milan.I didnt feel bitter at the end of the match really. We were beaten by the better side.Thinkin of that, they beat us twice without their top Striker, would we able to beat them without Ruud or Rooney? I dont think so.Reno Gattuso has now permanently replace S.Gerrard to take over from Keano in my books. That bulldog is just dynamite! Someone said before that he's scottish by nature,hahaha..watching him riling up Heinze just gives me goosebumps.Anyways, time to move on United, the dream is over for this year.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

If there was any player id like United to buy it would only be Gattuso.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Gotta give it to Milan again, the best team went thru.

Thought we played poor last nite, very disjointed didnt really get going at all, I know Milan are experts at defending but I thought we would pose more of a threat to them with the talent we had on the field.

I take small comfort in the fact we hit the woodwork in both games but that didnt tell the whole story, again theres no hiding that Milan we're superior in pretty much every position, its hard to see anyone but them lifting The Trophy...

As for us, well Rooney and Ronaldo will benefit from last nite in that its Rooney's 1st CL campaign and Ronaldo's 2nd, we still have to get 2nd place to ensure a better finish than last season and then of course theres the FA cup which is still to play for....

Still feckin gutted though!!!!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Not trying to rub it in or anything, but i found this quite impressive:

Milan fans have the nicest fan art imo.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Ialways been class in serie a. He is from rangers in scotland. There is now no chance of getting him now which pisses me off deeply. His value after that performance he put out has problably gone up millions.

Ronaldo shouldnt be first team player yet. The guy needs to sort out his decision making big time. As for milan they are great but United made them look super human, every minute they were running rings around united or opening us up at will. Kaka was playing like he was on the training gound.

This pisses me off coz no way would have milan looked that super against real class like chelsea, barcelona, real madrid and juventus.t was me who was saying before the game that Guttuso is guy We NEED! If Fergie was worth his trade, he would have picked him up along time ago because he has

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

ronaldo not a first team player!!!! what what what!!! everyone played like shit, except for the one guy who was a ? before the game, T HO.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I thought Howard had a good game (well up until the goal anyway). It reminded me of when he first came over, when he played with no fear. He did that last night. If you want to be super-critical you could say that he should have saved Crespo's header, but I don't think he had a chance.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

even though you couldn't put him at fault for the goal... i think some things he could have improved on... the simple pass to heinze on the left wing, standing there waiting for the pass, but howard kicked it out to touch, turning around to say "fuck off" to heinze, felt that was unnecessary. then several miskicks on a a couple of, albeit poor, pass backs.

...

just a comment on ronaldo, am i the only one who is really in genuine fear about ronaldo being frustrated to be at an under-achieving club? just seeing some of his actions and emotions after the milan goal, every time he/somebody made a mistake, i just shivered with the thought that he is type of player who craves success. he will win a maximum of three trophies with us in two years, and that is including our semi-unrealistic chances of taking the league this year, and hoping we re-take the cup.

don't mean to be a pessimist, but i really wish for the sake of youngsters (already on the team or perhaps looking for a new club), that we start pulling up our socks.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

i agree wit u footiebella i think foreign youngsters come to prem get play time and good finacial background then its off to be like their idols so if am right ronaldo/cesc and maybe reyes might abandon them prem for laliga soon just my view does ne one see it this way as well i hope c-ro stays at ot a joy to watch when on form wit rooney

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Like I said a while back, Ronaldo doesn't strike me as having any real investment in United as a club. He never comes out and says how much he likes it there, or how he feels so at home like other foreign players do. No doubt he's a great talent, but I do hope Fergie has someone in mind in case one of (other?) big european clubs come knocking with a big offer, because I don't think he'd stick around.

And I do find it sad that United would ever lose a player, they are still the richest club in the world, and a far from a weak side, I would say with some confidence the second best side in England, which is no small feat considering Chelsea's spending. But who knows, maybe he'll just keep getting better and sign an 8 year deal and be paired with Rooney for ages, forming the greatest winger/striker combo in history... ;)

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I don't think Ronnie really has any right to be dissapointed with the team when he's fucking up most of the time.
Rooney must have cursed Ronaldo thousands of times during the Milan match, especially during this one play when I was sure that Ronaldo would pass to him giving Wayne a good chance to score but Ronaldo naturally tried to hit Krang, who resides in Dimension X. He's the most player I see getting his team mates angry at him. How many times has he taken a wildly off-target shot when Smith or Rooney were making a near perfect run needing only a pass. Plus he always does it at the wrong time.
I really hope that Ronaldo stay at United for many years to come, I can see him winning many trophies, but first he has to learn to be less greedy. But to be fair, he's been passing the ball more than he used to these days.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

but he takes those types of shots for his country and most of them fly straight into the top corner! what is it with him and only playing well for portugal?! it's excruciating to watch him excel at the international level and not so at the club level

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

don't worry fb that's quite a common phenomenon when it comes to creative players. rosicky of dortmund is another good example. imo it's sometimes down to the 'environment' the player finds himself in. could be the players, tactical system, trainer or even another form of self-confidence and self-assessment. you knows...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

i could see how you mean by tactical systems, but manchester united have an embarassment of riches when it comes to facilities and the best people to use these facilities. i really hope for the best when it comes to ronnie's future

as for rosicky, i guess you can be right. however dortmund are on a terrible slump as of late no? i dont watch the bundesliga, but something like bottom half of the table? for a club of their calibre? dede? rosicky? koller? worns? metzelder? ewerthon? and isnt sunday oliseh playing for them too?

anyway, the saints on the weekend, CMON UNITED!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Old news aside.I'm expecting big changes at united next season in the form of new players coming in.Arsenal as we know will be given cash to sign only 'star players' this summer and ofcourse we have the bloody chelski pack,we know what they can do with their moneybags. We need ready replacements for Keano and Giggsy fast and they are Gattuso and Vicente.Michael Essien should also be bought to bolster up our engine in the midfield. We have to do this or we will never taste the sweet success of 1999 again.

Its Soton in the FA cup this weekend.Should be a breezer for us.I hope Giuseppe Rossi will be featured this time round. He scored a brace with the reserves at midweek now and it seems he tends to score all the time.Rossi,Rooney and Ronaldo,The Three R's.Should be our trademark lineup in the future innit? C'Mon United.
