I think we're more than capable of getting a draw at the San Siro. We have been really good away from home recently. We've drawn with Chelsea (with a few fringe players in our team), beaten Liverpool (with Morientes and down to 10 men) and beaten Arsenal. I'm actually more worried about the home game. We need to win that.

Must agree. I too think that we seem to be playing alot better away from home this season. Maybe its the new formation but i fancy us getting a better result at the San Siro than OT.

I think United have the best chance of all the English teams of going through really, they really up thier game on important nights and could be any team in the world in a simple knock-out tourny...

Arsenal will struggle against Bayern I think and I'm pretty sure Barcelona will make Chelsea's performance in the EPL seem like nothing...

Liverpool could beat Leverkusun but with a couple of players out I think they'll struggle.

Anyone think United could play 4-2-4 against Milan, it's a bit risky but it will fit all the players in (Keane, Scholes, Giggs, Ronaldo, Rooney, Nistelrooy), might leave some space down the sides depending on how well Giggs and Ronaldo can get back though.

well i think we must try to not allow any goals on the home front right? so i think 4-5-1 is suitable for us at home. then at SS, we should move to 4-4-2 because then an away goal could prove more fruitful than a home goal.

as suggested, i think ruud should come on as a sub, for the first leg

thats gonna suit us IMO, kaka and rui arent the most defensive so your midfield is gonna loose out, also your gonna lack width looking at that, im really suprised theres no cafu in the team, is this due to injury??

Also stam at right back, against giggs and ronaldo!!

Are you sure this is right milansta??

keano will handle rui costa with ease.. and i suspect henize will be assignend to kaka, which heinze can handle as well, and of course rio will have zero problems with crespo, shevy injury is killing milan....

I guess Ancelotti wants to use a rock to stop the wingers. Rui Costa is playing more of a center role.

Gattuso will probably be fighting with Keane all game, where as Pirlo will be the creative man for us.

My fear is playing Crespo as a striker. I thnk our approach to this game is to be defensive and to concede no goals.

Against Cagliari he played. He was good overall but finishing stunk. Good thing was that he did 3 nutmegs in the first half :)

i think the mistake there is stam at right back, as vann mentioned. the whole point in having a strong fullback is so that none of those through balls or passes in the air can get over the top. playing stam on the wing would mean he would be on his toes a lot more than he has to be, and knowing him, he is not as mobile as cafu (however if he is injured, really, there isnt much you can do... pancaro perhaps?)

also @ lumlum, i dont think ruud should start, at any rate, since i cant influence sir alex, several articles have already confirmed that fergie will in fact not start the flying dutchman.

Cafu aint injured, just on the bench. Stam has started about 4 games as an RB. But really hes playing as a CB as he stays back most of the time and Maldini goes up more.

i see... well that bit of information could've helped in my analysis of your backline ;)

well knowing this ... i guess that wont leave room in the middle, but in the flanks if the back four are squeezed in to accomadate for an immobile wingback. hopefully ronaldo and giggs can strut their stuff and create chances for 90 minutes

manchester will win, plain and simple , milan is missing SHEVA , i dont know why he cant play though he just broke his cheek bone , they should wrap it up and get him rdy for the game, aaa hes just being lazy. I've seen players play with a white mask from hospital , i dont know why sheva cant play....

since one's forehead is in such close proximity to one's cheek, a slight bump on the forehead could do anything to that broken bone... anyway, who's to say what the result is tomorrow, a world-class club is a world-class club, one player will not make a monumental difference.

if the ac milan physio staff really want to protect sheva from further injuries (and we know facial injuries can be more problematic) then why risk it? at any rate, if they were to protect it fully, at this stage of the healing process, sheva would have to wear a mask so protective, his peripheral vision is as good as gone.

the players youve seen wearing those white masks are well into their recovery or are in the midst of their recovery from broken noses, and the like, but not several days after the injury.

I'm definitely a little scared for tomorrow, but hey, this is what its about. Wish Fletch was healthy, I think with him on Fergie could have saved ronaldo/giggs as a sub when the defense was worn out a bit. That's also my concern with Ruud, against almost any other backline I'd pick him over Rooney, but the Rooney's so quick, can definitely outpace any of the defenders in a straight up sprint, so I'd consider him.

I'm expecting Rooney to shine tonight. The stage is set for him and I can't really imagine him having a bad game. This is the biggest game of his career and I'm sure he won't let his down.

Thats the different between us and the other teams. We have so much momentum that I can't picture us losing. I really think we have a great chance of going all the way.

yeah I would've thought Stam will really hold the position, he's not shy of going forward though, its usually his ditribution that lets him down in those situations, also its whether or not the occasion will get to him, sure he's played in big if not massive games at every level but this has a more personal touch for him, wanting to prove Fergie wrong, the great reception he's gonna get of us, im expecting a couple of rushes of blood to the head.

On the Sheva situation, it could be difficult for Sheva to get back into the swing of things, the psychological aspect could be worse than the injury, remember he could have died, attacking a 50-50 ball in the air might not seem like a good idea him....

This is going to be my last post before the game, im off to the pre game with a bunch of people.

Wanna say that i hope for the best game ever, and want to see a spectacular game. I would be rather disappointed if its one sided, even by Milan, as it would be crap.
