Manchester United Thread

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

rooney is amazing, what a game he played, those two goals are two of the best so far this past season.... wow

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

goal of the year candidate right there. even though we won 3-0, i think there were moments when we looked weaker than usual. rio was off tonight for sure for he was the culprit of that zenden close call soon after our goal. at times wes brown seemed typical wes brown with heinze having to come in and bail him out on several occasions

all in all, good game to watch. bring on the arse!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Simply world class from the 19 year old.First goal was sublime but the second goal was simply stunning. One thing that still puzzles me still is why Sir Alex again tried playing O'Shea as an attacking midfielder...apart from the goal he scored,I dont think he contributed well to the game.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I Couldn't watch the match live. Are there any highlights or goals which I can download from somewhere?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

You Manchester United supporters are lucky Andriy Shevchenko in his match against Bologna got hurt and was taken off maybe he will miss the match Man utd-Milan.

YOU LUCKY GUYS

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Well van Nistelrooy might not make the Milan game either. But IMO, Milan need Shevchenko more than we need Ruud.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

United and Aston Villa have supposed to have agreed a fee for Eric Djemba-Djemba and will have a medical today.

Wasnt it just recently Fergie was said to have backed Djemba, and to give him more time ?

Cheers Ashed for the links

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Hopefully, Kleberson will go in the summer too.
One of the problems we've had this season is that Sir Alex has too many players to play around with and he believes that everyone should get a game which is probably why we throw out a crap team every now and then. With a smaller squad, we would be forced to use the better players.
Eagles and Richardson have both gone on loan so our team is starting to get smaller.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Aston Villa have agreed a fee with Manchester United for the transfer of Eric Djemba-Djemba.
Sir Alex Ferguson admitted recently that he would consider offers for the Cameroon international and has accepted a bid from Villa boss David O'Leary, who is desperate to move into the transfer market before the window slams shut at midnight.
Djemba-Djemba is to have a medical at Villa Park and discuss personal terms with the Midlanders, even though he had stressed that he wanted to fight for his Red Devils place.
The midfielder has only made 13 starts in The Premiership for United and struggled to adapt to life in Manchester.
Indeed, he was one of the players who performed poorly against Exeter City in the FA Cup draw at Old Trafford and his last appearance was in the replay at St James Park.
The fee has not yet been disclosed but United will surely not recoup the £3.5 million they paid Nantes for the 23-year-old.
Villa failed to sign Salif Diao, losing out to rivals Birmingham City, and are seeking a replacement for the injured Gavin McCann.
Meanwhile, Villa youngsters Shane Paul and Craig Gardner have signed professional deals with the club.

Yep this is great news, this will ensure United will buy a midfielder in the summer, i cant wait. I just hope he doesnt fail the medical.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

That midfielder probably wont be Gerrard after his reaction when Lineker asked him about a move to Old Trafford. I hope he'd change his mind cuz he would almost complete our team.
Buying Gerrard and a left winger like Vicente would mean that we won't need another player for atleast 2 years. And that would also save more money in the long term.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Well, well The Boy Wonder done good, its been suprising to hear some around OT actually doubting The Kids ability, but I've not seen a more talented english/british player since Giggsy.

Anyway, two of the best goals ive seen at OT for a few years, pure ERIC in style and Sparky in execution, CLASS!!

It was good all round performance, Ronaldo was class througout the game only Rooneys goals denied him the "man of the match" accolades.

So its on to the arse wipes...

Well his second was an unbelieveable finish, you are right about comparing it to Mark Hughes in his pompt. Not sure about the first though. The keeper made it easy, he was in no mans land. Just an easy lob IMO.

Yes, bring it on. I can't wait. You coming down for the game mate?

He took it really well, maybe to you its an easy lob but run onto a pass and chip it from 35 yards is quality IMHO.

Nah dont get to many away games nowadays, especially down south on work nite.

You confident??

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Confident? Yes and No. You are in better form but we are at home. I fear it may be a draw which what neither of us want. If its a draw Chelsea are laughing.

Lets hope its a good game, they usually are!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Sol Campbell tells the Guardian what Tuesday night means to him and his chums.

"Everyone at Arsenal has been waiting for this game," Campbell told the Guardian. "We are up for this one. We know we have to win. A draw does nothing for us or them, so it's very intense. After all that's happened, if we beat them it will be one of our sweetest ever wins, especially because of how we lost to them up there. It is just more bitter and personal against United," added Campbell. "There's an edge. Maybe a little bit of the old north-south divide as well."

As the for the game at OT earlier this season:

"It (the 2-0 defeat) had a psychological impact on us, but again because of the way we were defeated," said Campbell in a reference to a controversial penalty award for United's first goal. That was far more upsetting, losing like that, because they just seem to get away with it. You try and balance out over the course of a season but I've had so many rough decisions against them you begin to wonder."

Campbell tries to play the innocent victim of some evil northern conspiracy to besmirch his good name but the facts show that he is usually at the centre of any hostilities on the pitch.

In 2003, with the title race on a knife edge, Campbell's swinging arm caught Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Campbell was sent off, suspension for three crucial Premiership matches and the FA Cup final followed. Their defence, so fragile without him, blew a 2-0 lead and the championship against Bolton.

In the next clash between Arsenal and United, a supposedly innocuous Community Shield opener, a brush between Campbell and Eric Djemba-Djemba resulted in video evidence, a charge of improper conduct and ultimately a £20,000 fine for the Arsenal centre-back.

And after the notorious 2003 battle between the teams at Old Trafford, when Ruud van Nistelrooy missed a last-minute penalty, this season's conflict in Manchester was sparked by yet another disputed spot-kick - after Wayne Rooney tumbled over Campbell's outstretched leg. "It does add up, doesn't it?" Campbell says with a tight smile."

Campbell goes on to admit that he rift between the clubs runs much deeper than just the managers:

"It's just more bitter and personal against United," Campbell says. "There's an edge. Maybe a little bit of the old north-south divide as well."

Campbell used a Wengerism when asked what happened in the Old Trafford tunnel: "I didn't see nothing. I was in the changing room. Situations get whipped up so it's best to leave that one."

We really got to the goons, quality!!

Yeah we're in the better form amd methinks we've had the better of you's in recent games but you can never tell.

And im defo not daft enough to predict a United win no matter how big my red goggles are, I always fancy us to win but y'know how it goes..

Henry is in poor form (well for him anyway) after going 562 mins without a goal, so he's due a cracking game....

No matter what happens im hoping for a good game of football, arsenal embarrased themselves at OT, and not for the 1st time, I wouldnt think we will let the club down tomorrow and to be honest I hope both sets of players do what they do best and play well...

Fingers crossed we will all be here on wednesday talking about a good game of football and not the media-hyped post match bollocks we got after OT.

Can I get an AMEN!!!

dude your biased man, rooney curled that shit in from 35 on a one timer, he was a clear 5 - 10 yards right of the right goal post, that goal was pure class, i dont think one pundit or someone with a clear mind can call that an easy goal.... now maybe the overall chance of the goal was easy, but rooney made an easy goal very very hard, he could have taken a touch he could have contined to goal, instead the guy curls it on a one timer lob from 35, far from easy....
