b)are you sure it wasnt shoulder to shoulder tackle off the ball, which is legal, ask any referee
c)how do you know ronaldo would have not been fouled? It was clearly two bad calls, two wrongs dont make a right, but there is such a thing as make up calls, and that was one of them
d)one goal was contraversial, the other was not, so i dont know how you can say arsenal was cheated, that is too harsh and not a nuetral point of view as a neutral can clearly see the game was 2-0 not 1-0.........

All this without Roy Keane!!...Phil Neville was again in "destroyer mode" against the Goons,played superbly well.Rio was undoubtly Man Of The Match,hacked,blocked,tackled every ball that comes his way.Gaby Heinze was a super charged up player in this match,his passion,strength and pride is the best amongst our players.Freakin hell,it was good to hear that Sir Alex and Rio mentioned that,they were absolutely confident about winning the match beforehand.I just love it.Its good to know that we CAN play DIRTY and WIN games. Havent seen United played that DIRTY for the longest time,HaHaHaHa!! Rooney dived,Ruud nearly broke Cole's knee,Reyes was a punching bag,SO WHAT!!!!!???? ITS 3 POINTS AND THE MATCH WAS MEANT TO BE.

Not sure what you mean here, Ljungberg touched the ball before contact was made, he was clattered after he'd touched the ball.

Not when one player has just pushed the ball ahead and is taken off his feet by the opposition player, who doesn't touch any of the ball. A shoulder tackle is when one player is in possession of the ball and the other leans into him. If you are saying that challenge was a shoulder tackle then you're having a laugh! :lol:

Because that exact scenario would not have arrived had the penalty not been given. I admit that should have been a penalty.

The only reason Man Utd scored a second was because Arsenal had to push forward so much in the final stages for an equaliser, because they were 1-0 down to the goal being debated. IMO, Man Utd did not look like scoring at all, Arsenal were coping fine with them until that decision, and then they had to take more risks. Again, if you're saying it was 2-0 anyway so the PK didn't matter, you're not being completely honest about it.

I wanted to see the best side win, and neither deserved to, Arsenal didn't look like scoring either.

P.S. if it had been Johnny Foreigner diving for the PK you'd have all the pundits immediately calling it as it was - a dive, but because it's Rooney that word isn't ever mentioned, instead he's "conned the ref" or "there wasn't much contact". Rooney dived, end of.

This is so true, look at how Pires was slaughtered last season for his "dive" against Portsmouth. Yet Rooney "won" the penalty yesterday. If you ask me its not the nationality of the player that decides whether it was a dive or not, its who they play for.

the point is, had rio not even been with any 30 yards of lungberg, he would have never gotten the ball anyways, so the foul(if it in fact was a foul, was missed by the linesman and the head ref, so i guess its the worst crew in the prem) was a moot foul, had no bearing on the play and weather or not lungberg would have gotten the ball, this is why a foul was not called and it was the right call.....

That's nonsense, after the pass, the first person to touch the ball was Ljungberg. How would he not have gotten it had Rio not been there? Or do you mean after Ljungberg touches the ball and is fouled, he wouldn't have gotten it anyway? If so, that means nothing, it was still a foul!

Spot on thats the way i like to see my team play,it was just too bad smith couldnt get into the violence earlier on, i reckon he shouldve started in place for ronaldo coz he looked tired again. Love henize,as you said he was super charged and showed he is a true United player,wish keane could still play like that!

Did you see ruud and fergie together in the crowd laughing as if they just pulled off some master plan

Just saw the highlights of the game.Did you see how fast and dangerous Ashley Cole was,charging at Ruud? I reckoned he was trying to sweep Ruud off his feet,not just the ball away.Ruud just stood his ground,had his right peg up in trying to shield the ball and caught Cole's knee.Thats my call on that,Cole's lucky hes not got a broken knee.Wenger wants FA action on the incident,I have to say,they cant do nothing about it,nothing.Rooney won the penalty,he didnt even retaliated,the ref GAVE it to him.Its a bloody shame to see Pat Vieira to be on the refs back everytime the decision goes against and for his team.He's better than this...he lost the plot to be honest.Edu was bullcrap,Barcelona would put him in the B team if he ever goes there,daydreamer,he has got to go,not to Barca though.For the second goal,it was a perfect timed run by Rooney,not offside whatsoever..brilliant 19th birthday present from Smith,you couldnt ask for more.

Anyone can see that Ljungberg gets the ball ahead of Rio and Rio takes him out, the only debate on that matter is how far ahead Ljungberg kicked the ball and whether he could have made anything out of it.

Riley did well to keep the game under control, I fully agree, but he messed up on 3 big decisions (the other being the PK Man Utd never got).

So,what if,when both of them clashed shoulders and Rio lost his ground and Ljunberg went on to score? No foul eh? Worst comes to worst,its a yellow card.Nuff said.

WTF are you prattling on about, I never said he didnt dive, but FFS put it in context, if your telling me that in 49games arsenal didnt get "the rub of the green" then its not me thats delusional. No doubt they will have their "moments" and con a ref or linesman, it happens get over it.

As for the Rio/freddie thing, well i'd take the comments of a top ref over you any day of the week, thats why he was a top ref in europe and your just another anon dude on a pc.

haha I saw that this morning, pure comedy, what a suprise some cockney cunt blowing arsenal off.

The same dude had a nerve to say that this team of arse wipes we're better than the Milan team that went 58 games unbeaten and won a European Cup or two.

And these guys get paid to talk this bollox!!

almost as bad as as this 'unbeatable' reference thats been going around

also had to laugh when he was complaining about utd players 'surrounding the ref and while he was actually saying this it was playing a clip of arsenals players doing that very thing :roll:

After Ljungberg touched it the first time he pushed too a far ahead of him, knowing this he fell the moment Rio came in contact with him.

I hate it when Mike Riley puts in a performance like that yesterday. It gives the Goons such an obvious excuse to fall back on when they get beat. The Rooney incident was clearly not a penalty but the Ronaldo one just after makes me feel a bit better about that. Mind you, the Ferdinand challenge on Ljungberg in the first half would have been interesting at the other end.
I don't know. I've been waiting for this victory for a good year now and I'm so chuffed to have stopped the run but it just feels flat. I didn't particularly think we deserved the win if I'm being honest. Our play in the 2nd half was just a "hoof it and hope for the best" mentality. I hope it's just teething problems and we can get back to playing deliciously crisp football, I genuinely do.
On a positive note though, it's so sweet to end the run at Old Trafford. I thought our players handled themselves excellently at times when we could've easily been provoked.
Hopefully this will kickstart our season anyway and we can start beating the likes of Blackburn and Bolton. Come on United!

I am saying that's one ex-referee's analysis, and of course he knows more about refereeing than someone like myself (or you for that matter, or anyone here). What's delusional is saying because that's what he thinks, that's what happened, his opinion is just that - an opinion.

P.S. I don't think he was a top ref in Europe, maybe the EPL but he wasn't a regular fixture in important European matches AFAIR, he doesn't spring to mind like Collina, Frisk, Meier, etc do.

But Rio never touched the ball, Ljungberg did, that's the crucial thing. And if he gives the foul it's a straight red, no question.

The Milan comment during the match by Tyler was amusing, that Milan side won at least 1 CL, very probably more.

like you say all this bitterness makes it even sweeter, cos they can whinge till there blue in the face but its gonna change feck all lol.

Wenger is being done for his comments post game and Ruud is RIGHTLY being done for his horror tackle on Cole, what is it about some of these dutch dudes cos Bergkamp is a nasty mofo aswell. Ruud will probley get a 3 game ban.

That had to be one of the ugliest celebrations I have ever seen. Galloping towards the corner flag without even a nod at his teammates. It was all about him, down on his hind-legs clenching his hooves and neighing, you could hear him over the crowd "yeeaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh", and those huge canines of his. I thought it was hilarious.

Anyways, United deserved the win. I don't like the way we don't show up for games of this stature. However, maybe losing a game now and again will be good for us?
