True, better than Riera though.
Nani's got the talent and at United a manager that's known for bringing out the best in youth talent, Riera doesn't have either.
Not as often as Nani though.
For an awful player, he's doing a good job of keeping Silva out of the Spanish international LM position then.
Nani has assisted more than Riera? You sure about that? I'm sure Riera assisted more than 4 times last season ...
Is that the Silva who you've never really seen play and is recognised as being over rated by the British press and therefore over rated by the average Joe?? And the same Spanish team that don't really focus their attacks down the left much at all anyway? If so, well done Albert.
Nani season 1: 26 games, 3 goals, 8 assists. (all in the league)
Riera season 1: 28 games, 3 goals, 4 assists. (may be less assists cos that's all comps.)
Last season they both got 4 assists in all competitions despite Nani mainly being a sub and Riera playing more games.

Anderson is definately a great player. Its just a question of finding the right position/system for him.
Nani on the other hand is a big doubt. You're right, its a big season for him assuming we dont sell him. We were saying it was a big season for Anderson and Nani this time last year too so I dont know how many chances we'll want to give 'em.
Anderson actually started the CL final ahead of Scholes so he definately has a future with us. Its just Nani thats the problem right now.
There's a story on The Guardian website suggesting Sporting are trying to negotiate a deal to take Nani back on loan involving us getting Joao Moutinho! I'd take that in a second, and it would add weight to the rumours about Antonio Valencia. It's probably come from the tiniest bit of truth and been exaggerated though. I mean I'd trust The Guardian not to make up sensationalist bollocks more than most other papers but it's still probably not completely true.
Anyways, it's sunk in that we won't have Ronnie next year, and that just gives me ideas.
Well, we need to go 4-4-2, play Berbatov right up top like he did at Spurs, and play Rooney behind him where he's clearly at his most effective. Finally play our front line with designated positions and not just a free for all.
If we could build the team around Rooney (assuming he's actually played in the correct position) then we'll be alright, Wazza is one of the best players in the world when played right and given responsibilities.
A winger or two would do nicely and that'll be that. Either that or actually push Nani and Tosic to become decent players. Though I bet with Ronaldo gone, Nani will be even shittier next season.
I hope so to would love to get Benzema wanted him for ages not a fan of Valencia really but at least he better then Nani.
For an awful player, he's doing a good job of keeping Silva out of the Spanish international LM position then.
When did anyone here ever say he's our "big hope"? We just went out and bought Obertan and Valencia who are both wingers and we still have Giggs and Park as well.Sounds like you guys had no confidence in Nani at all not so long ago, now he's your big hope along with Owen. Brilliant![]()
Mate, don't shit stir, it's obvious their team is improved.
Keane, Riera, Dossena are all very good players and then there's the younger players they've signed and they've got rid of deadwood like Kewell, Voronin and Riise.
Riera is class...Keane looks out of his depth when playing for you.
Riera is good to be fair, the 2nd best result we could of got today that, Not bad.
I'm with Dags Nani is wank.
