Manchester United Thread

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Have you seen Keane's record at Liverpool? Replacing him won't take much. Check the Facts!!! :D

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Agreed but I dont think Sir Alex would ever say that Obertan is capable of replacing Ronaldo.

Keane is definately a player who can be replaced, Ronaldo isn't. It'd be more like saying Obertan can replace Scholes or something.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I don't anyone is capable of replacing Ronaldo to be honest. But if we have a pacy winger who can beat his man and put in a good cross it's a good start.
He also has experience in the CL already, as well as being at a struggling side last season which might help his development.

I reckon he'll play about 25 games or so this year, similar to when we brought in Anderson.

That isnt like for like mate....Obertan is a winger by trade whereas Scholes in more of a central attacking midfielder.

Whats bugging me is that...the last time we signed a promising young, french winger...he turned out to be shite...David Bellion!!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

You got my point though, Ferguson is never going to say someone can replace Ronaldo.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

hahaha..but i bet he would when Obertan takes the league by storm by mid season...somewhere along the lines of..."I've ahlways believed the kid could replace Rohnawldo,no doubt...no doubt about did!"

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

He can only be classed as a success when Andy Gray tells him to 'take a boo son' ;)

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Before we got Berbatov, I was out here saying that it would be perfect if we got Zlatan Ibrahimovic...We would be Nike's favourite forward trio back then with Rooney,Ronaldo and Ibrahimovic....Imagine them running rings around defences all over europe. Its all history now with Ronaldo gone and Berba coming in...Speculation is linking us with Ibra again today.Would be awesome if we can get him and that number 7 would be perfect on his back.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

FFS, Rafa said we have more strikers like Kuyt, Babel and Ngog to replace Keane. Not like he was saying Ngog is worth 20M like Keane.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I'd take Berbatov over Ibrahimovic any day. I hate the guy.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

It's nice to see Ronaldo still has his feet on the ground:

You gotta give it him, He probably is.

I reckon he'll play about 25 games or so this year, similar to when we brought in Anderson.

Think your being extremely optimistic mate, I think he'll spend a few weeks in the reserves, depending on how he does probably get a run in the Carling Cup.

Nah. He's just 10 times the player.

He probably is better but then look at their Champions League record, Berbatov walks it. Im a big Ibra fan myself but can tell your just trying to make a stupid comment for the sake of it. :))

No chance we'd be after him. Would cost in the region of 60M and thats just not who we buy, especially when their 27/8 years of age.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Ibra reminds me of my mate, he practises his tricks constantly, and is great at that, but when it comes to passing, shooting, and actually playing the game properly, he's just shit.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

There was one much worse.... he got Kaka's face on himself.

EDIT--

He looks/should be arrested for having a guy tattoo'd in his body.

I don't even think Steve-O would do a tattoo of Kakás face.

Funny thing is, Ibra is actually good at all those things you've listed. He just needs to shine in the big competitions and his haters will start raving about him.

He shines in Serie A though. I'd say he was brilliant against United as well, created loads of chances.

But it's just those who don't watching 'boring' Serie A who don't get just how good he is. I'd say that with Milito now, he'll prove all his doubters wrong, and shine in the CL as well.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I hope so, I cant stand it when people bash players they've only seen play 3 times.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

It's probably because players that we get linked to in the rumours section of the website are automatically spawned profiles for some strange reason.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Yep its just a old glitch. Personally I think Ibra's one of the best players in the world. He's just a machine in Serie A and very comparable to how Ronaldo's been in the Premiership over the last 2 seasons. I think if he ends up in the PL or La Liga where theirs more exposure he'd be named along with Ronaldo/Messi/Kaka.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I guess we'll never know with Ibra because I don't see him going to Spain or England.

Not that the Serie A isn't a good league, it really is and it's very underestimated at the minute because of whats happened in the last ten years or so, but it's not on a par with La Liga or the Premier League.

Maybe he should stay where he is cause he's constantly showing how fantastic he is in Italy without much presure?

Not on par with PL and La Liga in terms of what? Because as far as quality goes, Serie A has much more quality throughout the league than either of the two.
