Manchester United Thread

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I just remember everytime I saw him on the ball he either got tackled or he put in a shit cross.

And he still looks like a sex offender.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

You sound like your trying a wind up Dags? Don't worry this isn't the Liverpool thread we won't get in a strop and shout for a Mod to kick you out. :))

Incidentally I think Riera is somewhat good. I think he's very tidy in the fact that he won't lose the ball often or anything but then again you won't expect something special from him either. He's at his peak right now and isn't really going to improve.

Check all my Nani post's I seriously think the lads got enough for him to become a top player, maybe not amongst the best around but definitely one of the best wingers out their.

I also think SAF is pulling a bit of a smokescreen to keep the Media away. Don't expect a big name though but we might bring in someone like Douglas Costa.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

If United somehow manages to get another striker, then what's the point of signing Owen? I'd rather we give him a chance and wait an see.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Who said were after a striker? I think Douglas Costa seems the most likely.

Why, the media of course. ;)

They keep linking us with Aguero or Ibra. But yeah, Costa seems the most likely if there is to be one more signing. No way is he worth £20 million though. That would be a very risky (and silly) gamble.

To be fair Gill never specified it was players coming in, he probably means youngsters leaving on loan and players like Manucho etc leaving.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Your team better not come to Indonesia, this morning there's an explosion from the restaurant where the Mancs team will be staying on the 19th when they come Jakarta. Still under investigation on what causes it.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

So much suspense in that post i actually thought it was Aguero. Never would have thought about Diouf.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

But his name is Diouf. :(

I thought the same thing. Maybe he can be encouraged to have a different name on his shirt (if he makes the 1st team).

I don't know why but I still think we'll bring someone else in before the start of the season...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Na im pretty sure thats it. I think we wanted Costa but his price tag was just to much. Shame Obertan's out for 3 months + :(( Really wanted to see how he'd fair.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Yeah same here, sounds like they knew about it already though and have only just let the cat out the bag now. The muppets would have gone mad if they'd know we were signing not only an 'unknown' youngster but that he was injured too!!

Diouf should have Mame on his shirt or something. :D

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I reckon it'd be too much if United had signed Costa now. How would they handle such a big squad with a lot of young players who need playtime to develop? I also doubt United will make any big name signing. Not that I mind, I think the squad is just fine as it is.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Manucho's left on a free for Valladolid. Shame we never really got a chance to see if he was any good but he didnt seem to live up to his CAF performances.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Well that's that then, Relegation here we come. Thought losing Ronaldo was bad? now Manucho. were fucked :((

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

If it wasn't for the development of Welbeck and Macheda last season, he would've played a much bigger role in the squad, I'm sure.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I know, it's a sad, sad day for English football. I have no idea why Phil The Tan Brown would rather pay £5m for Bobby Zamora when you can have Manucho for free who scored about the same amount of goals in about a third of the games.

But when one door closes, another window opens... and in January we'll have Manucho mkII: Mame Biram Diouf - our new number 32. :D

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

So we've just beaten the Malaysian XI 3-2. Apparently we were cruising at 2-0 and then started giving goals away.

Owen scored to win the match, but missed a sitter before that happened. At least he scored eh?

Desperately trying to find some highlights but can't at the minute.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Berbatov's not a sniffer though is he?

Half the time he plays he's in our own penalty box so that's hardly sniffer behaviour...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Depends whether he's played as the lead striker when he's on the pitch because when he played last season, he usually played behind Rooney/Tevez.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I watched most of it, we were cruising and then the lack of sleep and jetlag seemed to kick in and we lost our way a bit. Their first goal was well taken but a bit of a sloppy one to concede, it was like Bentleys lob against Arsenal. The second was like Paul Robinson's fuck up against Croatia but this time it was Foster and the guy who scored the first slid in and finished it. I stopped watching not long after so missed Owen's goal.

I think it's best to go off the first half performance though, and we were very much in control then (the commentator mentioned Wes Brown had said they've only had about 2 hours sleep). Not sure why SAF is persisting with Gibson on the right (like he did with Fletch), maybe it's to improve his all round game but either way he's not great in that position.

Rooney and Nani linked up well and Berba was involved a lot, and should have scored himself with a free header from a corner.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Yeh pretty well summed up Jumbo. Berbatov's going to definitely play off either Rooney or Owen. I think with Scholes playing less we'll need Berba's creativity. I still think Anderson and Carrick will be our main centre midfield this season though Fletch will get rotated in and out also.
