Almost perfect night.
Great performances from everyone for us, killed the game absolutely dead so who knows what might've happened if Gibbs hadn't slipped and Arsenal still had a chance.
I was absolutely overjoyed to watch Ronaldo tonight, he was sublime, exactly the type of performance I've/we've wanted from him all season. Two great finishes from him as well, seems like he's coming into form at the exact right time for us (the whole team is to be fair).
Glad to see Evra and Rooney get through the game without getting booked which leads onto the worst possible thing for poor Fletch. The guys been great all season, been there whenever we've needed him, never gives up and is always solid. Makes a great challenge, which admittedly really didn't need to be made with the score the way it was, but still, and now nothing can be done because UEFA are absolutely idiotic and won't allow it to be rescinded.
Mind you, if I remember correctly, the John Terry decision before our game with them at the Bridge earlier in the year, didn't Scolari say England is the only country where he's seen decisions like that get overturned? And as such, i wouldn't have really expected something like this to get rescinded in Europe.
Oh well, hopefully Fletch can receive a winners medal as recognition for his great contribution to the whole season in lieu of a great contribution in the final.
