Catch with Fabio is that as good as he may be, Evra is one of the best full backs in world football, so I'm not sure he can displace him.

Hopefully he'll get to play tomorrow against QPR then.

We just don't seem to be able to finish at the moment. Rooney missed a couple of easy ones, Ronaldo was unlucky as well, and Berbatov bottled a couple of tackles that (if he won them) would have given a couple of extra chances.
Vidic having a mare didn't help, nor did Gary Neville looking out of his depth a few times. For me Anderson was our best player, closely followed by Rafael.
Let's hope we can make the chances count against Stoke next week :)

Also, Owen Hargreaves is being sent to see Dr Stearman about his tendinitis this week, as Fergie has decided that injections aren't helping anymore: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/m/man_utd/7690267.stm

Fabio is still suffering froma shoulder operation, so won't get a run against QPR. I'm really looking forward to that match, incidentally, as it'll be a chance to see Wellbeck/Manucho/Possebon and so forth, and see if they're 'for real' or like last year's youngsters crashing against Coventry. Of course, no idea where I'll be able to watch it :)!

Ah I didn't know that.
Hopefully a few senior players will feature as well. It'd be nice to rest them all, though some could do with the boost of scoring a goal or 2...

I think Nani, Park and Tevez will all play. All need the games! Could be intersting if Tevez is played as an AMF, which would make some sense.

Park looks good in any match he starts its like he gets better with little matches!! He looks good every time he comes onto the pitch!! Tevez & Nani need games though!! Would love to see Tevez in on the score sheet!!

Welbeck and Manucho will start I think. I would like to see Rafael start as a RM. Would be interesting to see just how good he can be going forward.

Definitely agree. Park is understated but effective, very, very similar to Dirk Kuyt. He doesn't do all the great things that Nani can, but he also doesn't do all the stupid things Nani does. I'd love to see him get a run in the squad, particularly if we switch it back to a 433. As a roaming AMF he could be really useful.

Tevez has to score tonight. You can almost guarantee he is going to start, against a weak(ish) opponent, at OT. If he can't do it tonight, it'll be a sign that he's well and truly in bad shape !

Sir Alex to ring changes
Sir Alex Ferguson will continue his policy of youth alongside older, more experienced heads when the Reds take on Queens Park Rangers in the Carling Cup fourth round at Old Trafford on Tuesday.

After handing out four first United starts and three debuts outright in the 3-1 third round win over Middlesbrough, the Reds boss is set for a similar approach as he rings the changes after Saturday’s 2-1 Premier League defeat to Arsenal.

Sir Alex says: “The younger ones who will play will be Jonny Evans, Rodrigo Possebon, Rafael, Darron Gibson, Danny Welbeck – who is back playing now in the Reserves after overcoming injury – and possibly Manucho. The rest of the team will be filled by the first team squad.”

It’s a comeback to first-team action for Brazilian midfielder Possebon, who suffered a nasty injury in the last round after a crunching tackle from Emanuel Pogatetz. Initial fears of a broken leg or damaged knee ligaments thankfully did not materialise, and it will be a welcome return to the Old Trafford stage for the creative 19-year-old midfielder.

“There’s absolutely no problem with the boy now,” added the boss. “We did worry at the time, but fortunately he was OK.”

However, there’s still not a chance for United fans to Fabio, twin brother of Rafael, who hit a wonderful volley against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium at the weekend. Fabio, who plays on the left side of defence had an operation on his shoulder recently and won’t recover in time to play.

How do you think we'll line up tonight? My guess is:
GK: Foster / Amos
RB: Rafael
CB: Evans
CB: Vidic (to get his confidence back up after a few errors against Arsenal)
LB: O'Shea
RM: Fletcher: Nani
CM: Gibson
CM: Possebon
LM: Park
FW: Welbeck
FW: Manucho (if fit, otherwise it'll be Tevez)

Not enough experience in that side. I can imagine Giggs being in their somewhere and Tevez starting.

----------Foster-----------
Rafael--Evans--Vidic--OShea
Nani---Possebon-Gibson-Giggs
--------Tevez-Welbeck------

I think we'll play that. Hopefully we can get a easy win.

Only heard the commentary today but apparently we played some of the worst football this season.

Ditto. Highlight was apparently Anderson taking a free kick from 30 yards, Ronaldo style...and putting it out for a throw in. Now THAT's impressive.

How can someone with such good feet be so incredibly sh*t at shooting? I mean I can bloody well put my foot through a ball and I'm crap!

On Sky Sports News they said it was Nani that had a shovel foot, not Anderson?
I know it wasn't our strongest team last night, but our finishing is a bit worrying lately...

Interesting stuff there on Ronaldo. As much as I'd like to believe he'd be persuaded to stick around for many years for some cash, I think we'll have the same heartache every summer til he leaves. Then again, maybe if he does this deal and puts in the worlds most ridiculous buy out clause, it'll be seen as a f*** off to Madrid, at least for the next 4 years.

Still reeling from losing Hargo for the year. Was so excited by the thought of him being a big part of our team this year during hte summmer, and now this. Gutted. This is not to be our season.

Tevez saved you guys from some blushes but he was guilty with some poor finishing... should have had 3-0 minimum!! Park missed one too.... QPR were just happy parking the bus and playing defensive negative football!!

@ Delta did you see it? I couldn't find the match anywhere on tv. Apparently QPR literally sat 10 men on teh edge of their box for the whole match til they went behind, the commentary i was listening to said they'd never seen a side play with less ambition. Proving once again that it's just not that easy to score against a team who only defend, no matter who you are.

But yeah, apparently ando/tev/park/nani's shooting was absolutely shocking. My kingdom for a new solsjkaer...give that man 2 chances in a match and you're guaranteed a goal. His shot technique was flawless. The exact inverse of anderson's.

The commentary I listenend to was Alan Green and we all know what a cunt he is. Slated Ando and Nani all game, Surely we weren't that bad just him being him I guess.

Shit, didnt realise they were still in it.
But still, as of right now, the Carling Cup is the one that looks the easiest to win out of the 4 competitions. We need to start taking it a little seriously and wrap it up.
I don't think we need to play all our best players in the Carling Cup, just the ones that can get the job done like Raphael and Possebon, and not play guys like Nani and Anderson who IMO are best used as subs at this moment in time.
We'll just have to wait for the draw first and see how things turn out. Who knows, they might draw Spurs and get beaten before we face them. :APPLAUD:

Yeah i do hope avoid spurs and l'arse in the next round - just because I want our kids to get as many matches as possible.

Big game against Stoke this weekend. Have Spurs and Villa next, so if we can get 7/9 points from these 3 table should look good going into December.
Pity Brown is injured, he's one of the best RBs in the world in the air (probably because he's actually a CB :) and we all know that's where the threat is going to come. Vida's a monster too, and Rio's got spring. W|ouldn't be surprised to see O'Shnizzle isntead of Evra for same reason...

Theres no way id consider O'Shea over Evra...no way at all! Everytime he plays i fear the worst. On the other side with Brown injured id play Rafael instead of Neville. Just see Nevilles lack of pace now a real problem at full back and no amount of experience is gona compensate for that.

Great result today. Evra was immense, Vidic was colossal (even going on a mega run in the second half!), Ronaldo seemed back to his best, Welbeck scored a screamer for his first goal for us... I could go on!
The Stoke fans moaned that they sang more than us, but they were more interested in screaming abuse at Ronnie, and you know how he plays when that happens ;)

And we have Blackburn in the next round - I wonder if we'll stick with as many youngsters for that one?

wow... u guys have an abundance of striking kids.... Wellbeck & Campbell... not to mention Rooney, Cro, Tevez & Berba!! Wow!! good goals especially for the youngsters!!
