Marseille were fuckin rubbish!

You need to win against the big teams and we have so.... is our 10 PREMIER LEAGUE title heading our way?

I think our record proves we can win against the big teams. Our CL record certainly shows we can beat the big teams, and even our PL record too. Where we're letting outselves down in the PL is dropping points to the smaller teams. And being defeated against Reading is typical of us.

TBH, neither did ManU create that many chances today or play the so called 'beautiful football'. They managed to score, and have enough composure to defend their lead, which is why they won.

No, we certainly didn't. It was the same performance as against Reading. And it's annoying to lose to Utd and play so poorly. At least go down fighting but we just weren't creative enough.

I thought Lucas should've came on for Mascherano at some point to add a bit more spark.

And I am not saying that doing that is a bad thing. I am just responding to the comments that Liverpool did not have any chances today, pointing out that ManU didn't either.

Wasn't as bad a match as I expected, didn't think it was too bad, quite scrappy and tense though. Thought Anderson was excellent in the first half and Tevez took the goal well. Liverpool were poor, only Babel looked capable of scoring and he didnt come on til the end.

Our CL record certainly shows we can beat the big teams, and even our PL record too.
Sorry mate, that's bollocks, Liverpool's record against the other 3 is the worst of the lot, especially at home.

shows you how crap Marseille are too lol

Marseille were fuckin rubbish!

You must have forgotten that the Premier League is the richest league and MU one of the richest team in the world. In comparison, French teams are composed of a majority of French players. So comparing your today's result with Marseille (a team you didn't even played against this year) ? Oh boy... Pathetic. :applause:

I wasnt trying to have a go at marseille, i meant it as when liverpool beat you they were talking like they were the best team in the world

No we weren't mate. We were aware Marseille aren't the best team in the world, but we can only beat who is in front of us. Marseille were in a good run of form and hadn't been beaten for some time if I remember right?

I wasnt just referring to these forums mate, i meant my friends that are liverpool fans saying it too

Ecstatic. There is nothing sweeter than beating Pool at their beloved Anfield.Gotta agree with a few here that there was little chances created between the two teams. That goal was a training ground setpiece which ironically we rarely use or score from.We got the victory and I dont care about the goons or the chavs.A scouse friend told me that they are contented and stressed that we dont gain anything in life.I disagree because in life we gain sweet memories and victories....Like this last one at Anfield.

Hargreaves, Anderson, Vidic and Ferdinand really played out of their skin. They ran all day - we definately have the best defence in the Premiership.

Anyone realise Harry Kewell was playing? He is friggin' shite, fair play.

Evra showed once again how important he's been for us. Whenever the defence makes a rare mistake, he's usually the one to save us with his speed.
And Hargreaves is really impressing me at the moment. We've needed a fighter like him since Keano left.
If only Saha was a better finisher, then we'd be perfect.

Our backline was superb and I believed throughout the game that we wouldnt concede.Hargreaves and Anderson hassled Pool's midfield all day and didnt gave Gerrard any room to establish control.Evra was my man of the match, that boy is just dynamite!

However,I cannot say the same for Brown,Van der Sar and Ronaldo for this game.We always attack through Evra because Brown is shite at going forward and its looking like an easy read.Better teams will shackle Evra and thats one attacking supply shutted down.Imagine if we had be better attacking RB !

VDS made 3 crucial howlers in this game and was lucky not to be punished.I certainly believed his time is up once Ben Foster is fully fit.

Ronaldo was well marked, fair play but I believed he had more in his locker to worry Pool.I felt he just didnt do enough and looked a bit jaded.Superb move for the chance that Rooney missed though.Looked more effective and dangerous when he spearheaded our attack with Rooney and Tevez behind him.

Phrase why do you write off Van Der Saar so quickly? He had a bad game, all goalkeepers do - look at Cech against Arsenal yesterday. Edwin has won us matches so many times in the past - I still rate him as our number one.

I didnt write off VDS just because of this game.I have always believe that his time was up at the middle of last season. He is only relying on his experience now and by the fact that he made those 3 howlers,it is apparent that his stance is wearing thin.He should be grateful to have Vida and Rio infront of him.

Just to point a fact out as you seem to be going on about winning against the big teams makes you champions. Thats nonsense. For a start Utd were the best at beating the mediocraty of the prem last season with only wins against liverpool recorded as draws and losses were the results against arsenal and chelsea. Arsenal finished "top" against the big teams but barely scraped in 4th place.

Anyway, Anderson looks excellent, even having the "gaul" to have a go at gerrard. There's not many who do that and stand up equal to it in the match. Also showed what gerrard does with that good run he had in the first half (having to be tackled by gerrard near our area).

And kewell was crap, he was just too slow, losing possesion that led to the corner for you guys. Needs more games, especially if he is to be good in the speed of a top match game.

Thing is mate, if Liverpool want to be taken seriously in the Prem then they have to start beating "the big four" home and away. There is just no consistency yet again with L'pool this season - at least with United we know what we are gonna get week-in, week-out. With Liverpool you just don't know what team is gonna be picked or how they'll play. They simply blow hot and cold and this isn't what champions are made of.

Hit the nail on the head mate - great comment.
