Manchester United Thread

Well, I was thoroughly dissapointed by that half, despite what SS say. Yet again we can't break a team down (despite the goal), and what the fuck has happened to our pace since last year? Everything was full throttle last year, now its not even half.

Mike Dean is a fucking shocking ref and Grant looks absolutely scared shitless as well.

good game so far.
A bit harsh on Mikel but you can see why the ref sent him off. It looked pretty bad in real time. He's a known harsh bastard so you should know better than to give an excuse. He's sent of something like 13 or 14 in the last 20 games.
Great goal by Tevez. I just hope we keep attacking because they have players that can score from nothing.

how come you manage to score a goal on 47 minutes 32 seconds when there was only 2 minutes added time put on? As for Mikels red card.

This league is a fucking joke.

Yayy. Antred's back with his selected viewing spectacles.
If you listen, they say 'recommend at least XX minutes of extra time'.
How about the penalty we could have had early on? (or the other penalties we've not been given so far this season)

EDIT - I'll give you the Saha one though :lmao:

Dive of the century that was. I was embarrassed about it.

But not as embarrassed as Mike Dean should be, he should be shot.

Still, We're now 2nd. A most uninspiring 2nd.

lol the dive is something to laugh about, so shocked ref gave it.

But for Man Utd this has to be promising. Playing no where near their best but sitting 2nd in the premiership.

They will have to pick up before Roma visit soon in the CL.

No mate the seasons 6 weeks old and its already back to the same old, same old. If United are soo good, why do they constantly need a helping hand? I've only seen you against spurs and chelsea and both times to say the ref has been dubious is an understatement. And they said Serie A was corrupt.

Im no Chelsea lover but FFS cant we have a game without dubious match turning decisions at OT?

Gerrard - Villa - Fuck Off

Well Evra was fouled by Cole for a non penalty so it evened out.

Chelsea scammed a result at Anfield so who cares.

2-0 with players searching for fitness. Also 2nd in league. Groovy

Not half.

I wish we had as much influence on the refs and premier league as you lot, id be made up.

Yes Cole should have been sent off no question but the damage was already done. Also Rooney nibbled at Cole after the ball went and didnt get a second yellow.

Id love to fall for the romantic notion that it all evens itself out over a season, but as we all know thats bollocks :)

Good result. The referee was pretty bad but the decisions evened themselves out over the game.

I think both Ashley and Joe Cole should have been sent off for Chelsea. Joe for his tackles and Ashley for acting like a big girl.

Again, the decisions we get are highlighted while the ones we don't get are forgotten. We should have had a penalty last week for the trip on Ronaldo at Everton and there was also clear ones against Reading and Portsmouth that weren't given. I make that 4-1 against us with the Chelsea game, so maybe you're right and it won't even out over the season.

It was a draggy game to be honest but we deserved all 3 points.Van der Sar didnt have a save to make,Carrick was huge in midfield and Tevez deserved his long awaited first United goal.

Bad decisions here and there but thats football these days and you got to live with it.Funny how Mikel got a red card for a 50-50,dubious tackle only for Joe Cole getting a yellow card for a delibrate chopping down tackle from the back.Again, thats the state of the refereeing these days.

I was right about us getting a victory and it was sweet nonetheless.Watching John Terry applauding the visiting fans and getting booed in return was a bonus.

Hope Sir Alex gave the kids a run out against Coventry this midweek in the Carling Cup.

Do you think the ref was trying to balance his decisions after he fucked up?
No pen for Evra so he gave it to Saha. Red for Mikel so he didn't give it to Cole

Lol! a drop in the ocean mate compared to what you lot constantly get.

You should be ashamed.

New season same bullshit. :applause:

Hehe, to be honest I can understand why you're upset. What's it been now, 20 years since the refs were biased for Liverpool and they won the league? Maybe rafa should have spent some money there rather than on his 15 new players each off season...cause clearly that's the only thing seperating Pool and United.

Saha's dive was a disgrace, we don't need that. Also the first time I've seen him dive for United, he's not normally like that.

Chelsea were pretty rubbish IMO. What the hell happened to Shevchenko? Anyone remember when he was good?

Not half.

QUOTE]

So when did nibbling become a yellow card offense? If it is, then we're not going to have any players on the pitch at the end of a match. Should someone get a yellow everytime they 'nibble' at Ronaldo? The only reason Rooney's 'nibble' on Cole was talked about was because Chelsea were desperately trying to get someone else sent off, and so Cole dove like the baby he is. It was shoulder to shoulder physiacl play, nothing more.

Antred - no offense mate but how do you carry things with a chip that big?

No offense taken. i dont have a chip, i'd just rather see things done in a fair and proper manner as much as possible. Chelsea are no angels and have had their fair share of refs giving them the benefit no doubt especially against us - i could mention a few non penalties weve had against them over teh last few seasons, but the likes of you lot and Chelsea and to a much lesser degree us and Arsenal, dont need the helping hands nor should we.

Its hard to decipher how good you were yesterday owing to the bad decisions that went on.

Rooney is like a little raging bull, that runs around like a hot head after he doesnt get his way. He fouled Cole after the ball had gone a minute after picking up a booking because he got frustrated losing the ball, should be a yellow.

The reason Cole wasnt sent off was because they already had a man off in dubious circumstances, it was never a red for Mikel, in fact it was a good block tackle ball first, at worst if a referee is going to give it a freekick and nothing else. And whose to say Cole would have made that tackle if they hadnt been so unjustly treated in that match?

Missed the Cole penalty claim on Evra so cant comment, but Saha's dive was pethetic. A penalty maybe but surely a booking for theatrics? I thought we were cutting this out? Big games = crap decisions.

I saw you play Spurs a few weeks back and the poor sods where robbed. Theres no denying the fact that at OT you get a massive fair wack of ref loyalty. I mean yesterday He plays the extra time, Tevez scores, and it cuts to fergie with his watch to say time is up and the ref blows up on cue! Farcical.

Liverpool got decisions years ago? really? If they were and i cant remember many major ones - they wernt from diving. Was Ian Rush a diver? Was he hell. Was Daglish? Barnes? beardsley?Souness?

The game was different back then where players didnt roll 40 times after a tackle, or like Rooney yesterday writhe on the floor with agony after Cech punched the ball and never touched him!

Liverpool are no angels either currently, Sissokos started to dive and Voronin and Gerrard are prone to it too which does my head in along with our managers constant meddling.

But i can count on one hand the number of bias refs decisions we've had in the last 10 years - while ive lost count of yours, especially at OT.

Play the game properly or dont at all and they say serie a was dodgy.

alot of bollox surrounding yesterdays game....

yeah with the help of slow motion cameras the red card was harsh, but in real time it looked dirty, and IMO pretty stupid on the players part...

again we didnt play well, but created a few chances and made the keeper work, VDS didnt make a save all game....

good to see tevez score, nice goal as well...

all in all we're far from firing but we're up in second after taking points off our, up to now, nearest rivals...

im not looking at the scousers as title rivals cos rafa is cluless on how to win this league ( see the bitter scouser posted above! )

so it looks like the supposed 4 horse race is gonna be down to us V the gooners, ahhh the good old days....

Vintage!!

Antred,if you feel the need to post a somewhat neutral entry on the disgrace parts of the game these days, you need not be biased. Most of your views on the above entry are biased with hatred for United.Who was it to blame when we are in attack after a corner, scored, then the coverage zooms to Sir Alex doing his usual, watch tapping antics? You should blame skysports.

You called Rooney a little raging bull after decisions didnt go his way but waved off Joe Cole's tackle with intent on Ronaldo for the same reason? Thats farcical dude.

Cech never touched Rooney? Watch the reply and you can clearly see Cech's elbow striking the back of Rooney's head.Without intent I suppose.

The current game is those sets of game you saw last weekend dude. Its how things are these days, live with it.I'd give you a clause to stay quiet if bad decisions go liverpool's way okay? Cheers.
