Manchester United Thread

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Ole "The Legend" Retires!!

i think Sir Alex admitted it know cause of the reason we finally have replaced him with Vidic but Stam was a great player for us and will go down in our history for arguably are best team

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Ole "The Legend" Retires!!

gomito,

I have been called a cheeky bastard by you and you claimed I was someone else, you have talked to me as if I was a prick in every thread you have come into and yet you do not know me…now you call me a troll and say I am talking bullshit.

Have you ever spoke to me without being a total dickhead with a bad attitude?

Try acting like an adult will you.

ok your right, no other english team has 12 million, only man united can afford a player that costs 12 million, teams like everton, boro, spurs, newcastle, they cant afford a player like 12 million, thats way too expensive, they are poor teams who cant fill there stadiums and they cant sell there uniforms, it was only because of the 12 million that manu could put up that got ronaldo to OT. it wasnt the manager, it wasnt the trophies, it wasnt the 77,000 for every game, it wasnt the tradition, it was the 12 million

Did I say anything and I mean a single thing attacking Man Utd?

Did I say a single derogatory word regarding the reasons for Ronaldo signing for Man Utd?

NO I didn’t did I.

You and a couple of other people an negatively focused on one point.

I said and I quote myself

The main reason Ronaldo is at Man Utd is because A) they paid over 12 million to take him from a smaller club in a smaller league, B) because although offered to Chelsea Mourinho didn't go for him, C) That Man Utd are paying me lot of money D) That he and Man Utd have been ver successful together D)That ferguson protected him after the fall out from the world cup E) That Carlos Quirós is at Old Traford and their is a Portugese mentor.
.

Why have you not focused on any of the other points?

Oh sorry then you couldn’t paint me as being a twat if you did that could you (shakes head)

My point about the money for Ronaldo apart from being one point was a compliment if anything. As in Ferguson put the money down for the lad when others were not so sure. It was a practical point as in one of the main reason for him going to Old Traford was the fact that you actually bought him….what is wrong with that for fuck sake?

Your point about Everton though as in we could have bought him is pure rubbish, we could never have bought him. The most we have ever payed for even a striker and this year was 11.25 million. We have never in our history paid 12 million for anyone and certainly could not have done that x number of years ago.

But like I say my point was not an attacking aggressive one. It was no more relevant than it was in me saying that part of the reason for Ronaldo being at old Traford was continued success or Carlos Quirós being there etc.

sarcasim over, your a troll, seriously go post your bullshit somewhere else

Ask anyone in here if I have ever acted like a troll?

I have NEVER acted anything other than reasonable and complimentary around here.

You need to stop being a troll, stop running your mouth of f at me and start acting like an adult.

P.S

I bet you haven’t even been to Old Traford or to any big Man Utd games…..I have been to dozens. I have been to European away games against the likes of Bayern and I was in the Nou Camp in 99….you on the other hand are probably an armchair fan who mouths off…like I said grow up!!!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Ole "The Legend" Retires!!

Just watching some highlights of the Euro qualifiers, Ronaldo looked trully excellent, so I'm glad he's back for the Everton match.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Ole "The Legend" Retires!!

We've really missed him, hopefully he can spark that goalspree we had going on last season hopefully Rooney can also play some part

You are living on a differing planet to reality on this one ....sorrry :(
If you're gonna be a troll, atleast make a point when you post. Such a petty reply.

He looked shit hot, Its gonna be great to have Ronnie back at the weekend, he linked up really well with tevez V pompey so after more training together they should be even better...

Was hoping Rooney might make bench, but theres no news on that..

Looks like Howard is a doubt for everton after dislocating his finger...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Ole "The Legend" Retires!!

Park on playing this season:

"Hopefully, I'll be playing again early in the new year. My knee is getting better. It's a case of so far, so good. I'm confident we can retain the Premiership title this season. We've got a good squad and the manager has brought some good players into the team to improve it even further. The new signings have all impressed me in different ways. Nani is very quick, Owen works hard and Carlos has great vision. Anderson hasn't played much but I am looking forward to seeing much more of him."

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Ole "The Legend" Retires!!

He looked shit hot

Actually, Ronaldo was a bit shit cold. Besides the goal and the free kick that hit the bar, he didn't do anything right. I was at da Luz, and I've been noticing that at least while playing for Portugal he's starting to get this superstar attitude, not making a lot of runs, not passsing to open teammates, not helping out on defence when he loses the ball...

Scolari should take him out of the starting XI one of these days, to see if he learns a thing or two... But that won't happen.

I really miss Luis Figo. He was the superstar, but he would never give up, he always played with intensity and set the example.

Give me more credit than that please.

You may not agree with all that I have to say, maybe not much of it even, fair enough mate. But I am, never have been and never will be a troll and I always make point(s).

You have quoted me out of context and you know it.

If you go back and quote my post in full I guarentee that their very much is/are points that I have made.

Do me a favour as well and do a search on all my posts and see how many are negative and how many are positive towards Man Utd. I am sure that in terms of subject matter for a neutral you will find that it is a 50/50 split and that I have in fact said many, many complimentary things about Man Utd and got involved always in genuine debates.

please do me that service and check as opposed to just repeating the unfair and unfounded slurs of others.

P.S

Only been here a month or so and just some of the things I recall are;

Saying I want Man Utd to win the league, saying that Solskjaer is one of my all time favourite strikers, saying that the best player of all time was George Best etc...

If I went much further I would be a Man Utd fan..

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Ole "The Legend" Retires!!

Hope Phil Neville has as good a game as last time at the weekend. We need the goals.
A really difficult game I think. Not sure we can cope with their aerial threat from set pieces. We looked shaky against Spurs and they are not as big as Everton.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Ole "The Legend" Retires!!

itll be another 1-0 win for untied i reckon, I just hope with ronaldo in the team again we will hit the ground running and retain some lost form.

Ok, lets see the full post, shall we?

I think your wrong he wasnt offered to Chelsea, former Liverpool manager Gerard Houllier spotted Ronaldo when he was 16 but thought he needed time to develop then Sir Alex spotted him a year later when they played Sporting and the rest is history
Sorry but I am categorically correect on the main point; he was offered to Chelsea by his agent.

But what does that actually mean...I think the points I made were most relevant, as in each one in turn.
Nope, you really didnt make a point when replying to my post.

I dont care if you've had something nice to say about the club or not. You're talking as if we enjoy you kissing our asses.
Just cuz you've complimented the team or its players, it doesnt give you the excuse to come here and "over-debate" things that are just petty. And as I pointed out above, when you didnt have a good enough reply for my post, you had to insult me personally rather than make a point about why my opinion is wrong. We dont need that shit over here.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Ole "The Legend" Retires!!

My sentiments are exactly like yours Rune...Are you a United fan in disguise Vanzandt? Please come clean if you are and not act like "I'm an Everton fan but I know shit-loads about Man Utd than you real fans do"

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Ole "The Legend" Retires!!

have to agree with the above two posters, i didn't reply to vanzandt's long post about anelka because it was simply too long to debate, i'd made my points in my first post, if i had of replied i just would have been elaborating on what i had already posted and figured i will be proven right in time. Anelka performance and goal against vanzandt's team everton (after he had signed his new contract) was the first step to showing that he has actually matured a little as time has gone on.

Again i'll say that we miss a true centre forward (excluding saha) but i still think that anelka was the most realistic option before the window closed (price, availability, attributes etc,)

the strange thing is i obviously agreed with some of his thoughts on Anelka even before he posted them but he still acted like he's all knowing.

Vanzandt you obviously know a lot about football and seem like a relatively decent bloke but you're not always right and the way you come across sometimes rubs people up the wrong way.

the comment you made to someone about not going to games is a poor argument and something i'd expect to hear when i was still at school. i still go to the majority of united games and i think you actually (now with all the various camera angles, replays etc,) get a better grasp of a match on TV than you do at the game. this wasn't always the case but now i think times have changed

just my thoughts

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Ole "The Legend" Retires!!

I hate to comment about real fans and fake fans largely because there isnt any exact definition.A fan is a fan no matter what.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Ole "The Legend" Retires!!

Exactly phrase, I've converted a lot of people to Man Utd here and they love them as much as I do now. It really doesn't bother me that they have no connection to the club and will probably never visit England, never mind Old Trafford. They love the games and when I give them videos to watch they're really excited. It's great when one of my students comes in on a monday and she tells me about Rooney or Ronaldo's goal at the weekend.
Do people complain the same if you like a band from another city or country? Imagine... you're not from Manchester so you're not allowed to like the Buzzcocks or Joy Division. A bit different, but just as stupid.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Ole "The Legend" Retires!!

Am I missing something here?

I am not quite sure what it is that people are so pissed off about with me.

I have given/offered genuine opinions and made points in almost every post.

I have never just thrown critisism the way of any fan or Man Utd without having a genuine points to make...whether people agree with those points or not.

I have been critical and priasing of things Man Utd related in equal measure based on my opinions...

I have never kissed arse at any point, as I have stated true opinions. I have never been a troll at any point because I have stated true opinion and engaged in real debate.

I am an Evertonian who want Man Utd to win the league because the alternatives are Liverpool and Chelsea. I dislike the style of the latter and the former are rivals.

It just so happens that two of my favourite players of all time are Solskjaer and Robbie Fowler. I wish are my favourite players played at Everton but that is not so and I cannot help lacking the level of bias that many football fans have.

My favourite player of all-time is George Best, again I would have prefered it if he played at Everton, but he did not just as Maradona did not. My connextion to liking George Best also relates to Northern Irleand where I lived and where my dad comes from.

I have relatives from Aberdeen and followed Aberdeen in the 80s so am a fan of Ferguson from back then.

I have designed football games for major softweare companies and love all things football and like teams that play slick attacking football, with the exception of Liverpool...even there I appreciate it but cannot want them to actually get results because I live int he same city and will be ribbed about it as an Everton fan.

I have been to many major European matches for Man Utd as a result of sponsorship with my work..

I wish that was Everton but we have not been in Europe. As far as European football goes I always support all the Englsih teams, even Chelsea...with the exception of Liverpool again for the aforementioned reasons.

So what is the problem?

Are people saying that because I am not a Man Utd fan that I cannot or should not talk about the team that won last yoears premiership?

Are people saying that because I am not a Man Utd fan I am not capable of engaging in conversation about them?

None of this makes sense.

I was called a troll by a guy who also referred to me as being a cheeky bastard because he though I was someone else..

That person called me a troll because they did not look at my post properly at all, but incorrectly focused on one aspect of it and took it the wrong way.

Subsequently the troll tag has been picked up on by someone else...so it is a whispering campaign.

I asked that person to quote me to see I was not a troll. They have done that and I think you can clearly see from my post that I absolutely did make points even if the person concerned did not like them.

The commnets following on from all this again just fall into a form of whispering campaign.

If I say something critical I am a troll, if it is of approval I am kissing arse....you cannot win with such logic.

I have done neither of the above and am not a troll or an arse kisser I have offered decent and honest opinions all the way.

In the talk about a striker the reason my post was so detailed is because I was very interested and showing my opinion....

If I hadn't told you lads I was an Evertonian, none of you would use the fact that you don't like my opinion as a reason to call me into question in this way.

If you want to finish your witch hunt just say so and I will not type in this thread ever again.

Sorry guys but I have just tried to be ok and give honest opinions.

This is exactly what the problem is. How many people actually read all of that?

So let's get this straight I am a troll if I constructively critisize anything Man Utd related. I am a kiss arse If I say anything that is apraising Man Utd. And If I point out the logical flaws then I am still the problem.

That is the logic right?

Can you please explain what the fuck I can do without being at fault then exactly because it is being me at this point.

As far as I can see I am fucked and shit on by you people no matter what I do.

This is elasticated bullshit logic. It started off as a whispering campaign and is basically a witch hunt at this point.

I say day I am a twat, I say night I am a twat...fucking joke!

I wrote a large mail because of the shit you are raining down on me....you or anyone in my position would do the same given how unfair it is.

Sure you make points but when I made a good enough reply to back my case, the best you can come up with was this:
You are living on a differing planet to reality on this one ....sorrry :(
You call that constructive criticism?
And I'm not trying to say you're a kiss arse for apraising Man Utd, I'm saying you're a kiss arse cuz you think apraising Man Utd makes up for being a troll and convinces us that you're actually "unbiased". Its almost as if you're kissing ass to be accepted here.
And you're not f*cked cuz all you have to do is stop arguing about petty little things that no one cares about. Do you realise how stupid this conversation would look if we were doing it face to face outside the Internet?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Ole "The Legend" Retires!!

Rune I didn't do that though did I.

I went on to put my case as to why I felt that and you know that...so stop quoting out of context.

Also are you telling me that for your point of view this witch hunt is based on me having a strong difference of view on one issue?

How vindictive s that?

We cannot always agree...I am sure if you went back and looked at a lot of my posts you would see that they always offered a genuine honest opinion and you would probably agree with some of my comments.

If you wish to deliberately keep quoting the same singular remark out of context and cannot let that go and want to burn me at the stake for it....I mean for fuck sake.

I cannot be a troll and a kiss ass and someone who has written long passionate opinion pieces all at the same time.....these accusations I have faced are bullshit and they are contradictory.
