Manchester United Thread

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Ole "The Legend" Retires!!

I think it was the Russian Mob who was behind that attack. :D

Rune,I think finally you have swept some of the excess dirt from our thread...its been here long enough and I thank you. :applause:

Rooney is back in training which is a huge lift for us.Neville is also on the mend and is slightly behind Rooney in comeback terms. Both is likely to be back in the squad for Chelsea on the 23rd.Park Ji Sung is targetting early January which is still a mile away but good thing is,we dont need him now,to be honest.I'm just praying we dont loose anyone to injuries over this midweek international fixtures.Lookin forward to Saturday at Goodison Park, should be a crackin game.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Ole "The Legend" Retires!!

I have a bad feeling someone's gonna get injured at the Chelsea game...

I reckon SAF will be tempted to put rooney on the bench V Everton....

depends on the freshness of tevez and how fit saha is...

be good to see him back before the chelsea game tho, maybe a start V sporting next week...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Rooney Back!?

Who would blame Sir Alex if he does that, the boy always does well against his former club.Just to be safe however,I reckon Rooney will be back against in our CL tie versus Sporting. We have a fit Saha,a fitter Tevez and a hungry Ronaldo back to face the Toffees.I cannot see any problem in winning there.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Rooney Back!?

Everton are a good side. It will be difficult

Moyes has done really well with his resources compared to other sides , but Saha will be great player to have to start and Tevez will be two times as affective as he's been

They'll both get service from Ronaldo hopefully, meaning they'll be infintely more likely to score. Assuming of course, that Ronnie plays like he has done for Portugal.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Rooney Back!?

Was he really? I'd always been amazed at his scoring record wiht his country, thought it was way above club. Until last year of course :)

Should be a great game tomorrow. I actually fear we'll lose it. Last season we had some ridiculous luck (then again I guess they did too with the first goal) to come back and take it, nad that was when we were cruising and had a very settled team. Scholes and Giggs will have enjoyed the rest, I hope the latter can finally start producing something near good form, or else he deserves the bench.

I fear that Fergie is going to start Saha and Giggs up front, because Tevez is too tired from his long flight back from Aus. Which I don't relaly get, i mean can' tthey fly the guy club world or something?!

Ronnie hsould be out to impress, and Nani is looking at least dangeours, if not hte finished article. Still not loving Anderson though :(

Any word on Hargreaves fitness? And what happened ot Fletch and OShea?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Rooney Back!?

I think Tevez will start and around come off for rooney on the hour + mark, Ronaldo and Nani to start for me , Nani Deserves his place in the side but Giggs should get around 30 minutes and also would be better for the Champions league game even though Nani should moved from thier they will know his weakness and how to try to stop him

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Rooney Back!?

massive win against a really strong side. not many temas will beat them at goodison this season.
Wonder where the liverpool fans are moaning about the penalties we could have had so far this season? ... As soon as we get one, I bet they'll be here.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Rooney Back!?

We needed that win badly.Didnt looked like conceding a goal to be honest but it all still boils down to the final ball and we have to work on that.

Sir Alex made the right decision to take the ineffective Giggs and bring on Nani.Good corner met by a great header from Vida, who else.

Some short takes on our players.Ferdinand had a great game summed up by that superb tackle to deny Anichebe.Ronaldo looked tired from the internationals.Tevez is finding his feet, which is a huge lift for us.

Overall,we did well and was pleased with all 3 points.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Rooney Back!?

Ronaldo looked tired in the Internationals as well. Hookers wearing him down perhaps. I think that's the problem with him, if he's not completely fit he loses a lot of efficiency. Players like Ronaldinho can be out of shape and still be effective. I don't think Ronaldo can.

How about Nani, he's involved in most ManU goals this season, I think nobody expected that, not even him.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Rooney Back!?

Two other results in our favour tonight.Liverpoo and Chelski both drawing blanks with their respective opponents.Sets up nicely for Chelski at home next week really.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Rooney Back!?

Just a shame we're not scoring anywhere near as freely as last year.

I fear it'll be a 0-0 with Chelsea, or possibly they'll beat us because we can't score.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Rooney Back!?

You should also worry about Sporting midweek. The way you guys have been playing, I can see Sporting getting a result.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Rooney Back!?

I think we would have our strongest line-up back against Sporting.European games should be quite open and I fancy a chance of course.0-2 to us perhaps.

who knows if we still cannot mount a good challenge for the title i could see us doing a liverpool and trying for the CL and possibly doing well in it

lol , i think we'll be in around the top at the end i think us and chelsea will win it still

chelsea performance is more shocking than you lot..I rather manutd lose `cause come Jan-Feb(ACN) is going to be a tough

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Rooney Back!?

Sir Alex has rallied his troops to have a real go at the CL and perhaps winning it to commemorate the Busby Babes/Munich disaster.

Thats main aim for this season I guess after last.We really want our trophy back last season, got it and I guess its only natural that we should go for the CL this time.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Rooney Back!?

We need to do well against sporting i back nani to have the knowledge to unravel his old side along with ronnie still below par tho tevez needs to find his feet fast jesus hes been the prem for a season already and was lethal was last season twoards the end of the season

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Rooney Back!?

Tevez is just waiting for things to click for him. I'm hoping the Rooney/Tevez partnership will help him get there.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - Rooney Back!?

Tevez to me seems to be missing a partner in crime.I think he has been clicking with Rooney during training but hasnt started with him just yet.I am sure they will bring it to the pitch if they both started.I'm really impressed how he held possession against Everton, really low centre of gravity. This should work for us >>>
