Manchester United Thread

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I think this will affect him more than it helps too...Was hoping that he'd really spark during the World Cup and then able to carry that into the new season...

I think that the club competitions and such are being too jam packed, and all the players in Europe are really forcing it too much for the WC and thus getting so many people dropping down injured.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Na it could potentially derail the lad, he's a confidence player and he's been in great form recently, taking that into the World Cup could have helped him up it a notch or two.

This will hurt his confidence which will effect his performances.

The way I see it, he's gonna want to work extra hard to ensure he has a good Euros in 2 years time.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

At least Nani and Rio won't need a rest now and can take part in preseason!

We've only got a few lads actually left out there and there's a good chance half will come home early so that's a plus for next season. I think it's only Evra, Rooney, Park, Vidic, Carrick and The Mexican Sensation Javier Little Pea Hernandez now.

Could have been one more but apparently FIFA rejected Mame Diouf's request to enter himself as a one man nation as this would be unfair on the likes of Cameroon, Ghana and Nigeria who might then struggle to qualify.

Personally I think its a shame that Africa's greatest ever footballer (ever) will not be playing at the first African staged World Cup but hell, what do I know.

:LMAO:

I'm gutted for Nani. I'm sure he would have done really well for Portugal. I also think this will affect his United performance in a bad way. Only good thing is he'll be able to rest for a while.

Anybody wants James Milner now after his first game for England? What a choker.
And Barcelona have the cheek to offer us less for fabregas lol. Milner worth 30m lol

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

The only reason there's talk of Milner going for £30m is because Villa want to push the price up as they want to keep him and City are stupid and rich enough to pay whatever they ask for.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Milner is worth £15m, but for City that becomes £30m because Villa have no reason to sell. Fabregas is definitely worth at least £40m imo.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Think Milner is a pretty solid player, he was just unlucky in that game. Probably best if he came on as a sub. Maybe he felt nervous playing in the starting line-up in his first world cup appearance?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

He's a solid player yeah but he's nothing special in the slightest and quite rightly looked out of his depth.

Definitely not worth the prices being quoted for him.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

According to the rumours today we are ready to make a £25 million bid for Giorgio Chiellini.

A superb defender...would be a straight swap for Vida if he leaves.

Sort of unlikely but just keeping it all in perspective.

Another story popping out is CSKA Moscow is interested in signing Zoran Tosic for £8 million...A deal to involve Milos Krasic moving to Old Trafford is also likely.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

£25 million sounds like a fair price for Chiellini but I'd only want to be doing it if we sell Vidic for a lot more (meaning we're working on a profit).
I just dont like the idea of spending large sums in areas where we dont need to, especially when we're still looking for players in more important positions.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

:(( Hope Vidic stays, same situation as Ronaldo as I don't think theirs a better CB of his mould out their.

Tosic officially left which was expected with the 25 cap

There's always a better defender than Vidic...If you consider his lack of pace.

There is a rumour today about Real Madrid willing to involve Karim Benzema in a swap deal plus money, with Vidic. That would be a deal to suit our favour I think.

We got money to spend,if Vidic leaves,we will focus on our targets Simon Kjaer and Giorgio Chiellini.

You mean they're giving the money with Benzema or we have to with Vidic? Cuz if they're giving us money then I'd bite their hands off for that deal, providing we get someone like Chiellini. And when you think about Chiellini's age, I think I wouldnt mind having him and Benzema if Vidic had to go.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

If Vidic is leaving, look no further than Simon Kjaer!

Not the greatest tourney for Nemanja anyway! Chicharito on the other hand looks dangerous and hungry!! Hope he starts against Argentina.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Strange, lots of chat coming out that we've also signed Chicarito's teammate Barerra, who I think plays as a wide forward. Haven't seen much of him. I guess the Mexican market could be considered good value...but a bit strange. Mexicans as arule don't have a great record at the very top of European football.

Wonder when Rooney is going to come good at this World Cup. He does take an age to come back from injuries doesn't he...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

What is going on with fixtures, btw? I know it reeks a bit of RAWK like conspiracy theories, and I don't believe in them generally, but for the third season in a row United have almost all away matches after midweek Champions League games. If you look at our record in such fixtures, we're normally rubbish, so I just don't get why we would have to play 8 odd away, while, for example, Chelsea only have 3. It was the same last year (when I moaned) and the year before that.

United away matches (following) CL fixtures

2/10 Sunderland
23/10 Bolton
4/12 Blackpool
18/12 Chelsea
26/2 Wigan
16/4 Newcastle
30/4 Arsenal
14/5 Blackburn

Chelsea:
6/11 Liverpool
16/4 WBA
7/5 Man United

Really?! Haven't heard anything about that yet but he looks like a very good player as well. One of Mexico's best. Should be starting matches not coming off bench though every time he does, he plays so well, maybe Aguirre likes keeping these 2 diamonds as his super-subs.
