Mark my words - manchester united will win the premiership next year.

Whoever it was who said ManUre fans were arrogant may have a fair point....

Because Arsenal fans are never arrogant  .

Thing is mate, I would never ever make a bold statement like that, especially in a forum, it can only come back to haunt you. Hopefully in this case it will!! :D

Ruud Boy 4 Life!!

Dutch striker Ruud van Nistelrooy wants to end his career at Manchester United and then walk away from soccer.
"When I stop playing, I will quit the game for good and never come back into football. I will finish my career in Manchester," van Nistelrooy told Wednesday's The Sun newspaper.
"I'm now sentenced for life with United, but that is not a punishment. The manager is building a new team and I trust him," said the Dutchman, who recently signed a new contract with United until 2008.
"I don't need to go to Spain or another country."
Van Nistelrooy has been linked with Real Madrid in recent weeks after a disappointing season for both himself and United ended on a good note with two goals in his side's FA Cup final victory over Millwall on Saturday.
The 27-year-old van Nistelrooy, had previously said he would like to end his career with his former club PSV Eindhoven.
"I used to think that after my time at Manchester United I'd have a couple more years back home in Holland with PSV Eindhoven again. But I don't think like that any more," he said.
"When I stop playing, I will quit the game for good and never come back into football. I never want to be a manager," said van Nistelrooy, whose comments in The Sun were also published on United's official website.
"When I signed my new contract recently, I didn't only sign for the money. I had a long talk with (United manager) Alex Ferguson where he explained his future plans.
"His ambition is to win the Champions League again and I'm very proud that I can work on that with him. I agreed with his vision. It was very simple then to sign my new contract the next day."

I think you've mistaken optimism for arrogance.
All i'm saying is next year, we'll be back.
That's all.

It's no coincidence that everytime we've lost the league we've won it the next year. It's simply down to hunger and desire.
Therefore it's only natural that i think the same will happen next year.
You know it makes sense!

So saying "We will win the Premiership next year" is optimism not arrogance?

Gloss it up mate however you want, I would call it arrogance.

We will wait and see!

Call it what you will, it's not worth arguing about.

All I'm saying is write us off at your peril. United are always at their most dangerous when they're up against it.

If i was a betting man (and i am) then my money would be on us next season. (given the return of Rio and a renewed desire to prove people wrong)

everyone's entitled to their opinion mate. it might be an idea not to jump down the throat of everyone who has a different one to yours

Hang on mate slow down.

Firstly, I am not writing you off. Have I said anything today that says anything of the sort?

Secondly, yes you have your opinion and good luck to you.

Thirdly, I am not jumping down your throat or anyone elses (or everyone according to you). You shouldn't be so touchy mate.

OK, no probs.
I probably was a little too touchy (suffering from the mother of all hangovers)! :(

anyway, here's to us winning the league next year, eh? ;)

Well we're pretty good at claiming Our Trophy back, the few times that the arse wipes have won it (recently) they dont hang on to it, it takes a great team and a lot of bottle to do that.

Fair point mate, although you didn't hang onto it last season...

Ruud plans to retire at 32 and walk away from football, just like Eric Cantona as quoted by the man himself.Cantona did not fully walked away from football did he?..he played beach football and still works as an ambassador with Nike...
Smith needs to work hard at United cos he cant be expecting to the XI all the time like at Leeds.I wish he could follow Cantona's and Rio's footstep in becoming a better player at United.

I dont think Smith is a good buy for United. He doesnt bang in many goals a season. I think someone like Viduka or JPA would have been better.

so you left leeds, does that make you a traitor to the sheep shaggers then?

Less of it fellas. If it continues ill card the both of you. And dont fob me off with "all friendly banter". Flaming is against the rules and this isnt even an Alan Smith arguement.
