:l Eh?

Whoops sorry hutch there was supposed to be a not in there...

Farewell as in your out of the champs league NOT farewell as in your going bankcrupt

Just want to know why Ferguson was playing an away formation on our home ground as if we were defending a 1 nil lead when we should have been playing a positive formation looking for goals right from the off.

Ronaldo and Saha should have been on from the start as we lacked any real penetration which has been missing for most of the season.

Thought Tim Howard should have at least tried to push the free kick round the post or get a clean punch on it to get it away from goal and only Wes Brown (who had a stormer tonight) following in was poor defending.

This games all about 90 mins and we should know that more than most ..remember the Champs League Final 99:).

Things will get worse before they get better it seems and know our whole season depends on 2 games both against Arsenal.

I think Howard bottled it to be honest. If it had been in the 50th minute, I reckon he'd have dealt with it.
Oh, Djemba Djemba= The future. :)

Yep agree with ya Hutch..but cant be to hard on him he made a great save in the first half when he had nout to do and showed great concentration, but maybe someone should tell him he needs that for 90 mins :(

not a fan of man u myself but come on!
they was robbed tonight ,dodgy officials, lot of players out and paid the price for sitting back on a 1-0 lead.

as for porto they was an absolute disgrace in both games as an english football supporter i was shocked by there dirty tactics.

end of an era ?get real eh looked what happened the year before the 99 treble.why cant the english prem fans give united the credit there deserved ?they are a credit to the english game, have been for the last 10 years and will probably bounce back stronger next year.

On another note, I didn't catch Mourinho's finger flick, but I assume he did it seeing as so many report it. But what I did see was him striding away down the touchline arms outstretched celebrating before the final whistle blew, I don't know the exact ruling but isn't he supposed to stay within his technical area until the match is over?

After seeing this game decided by the Scholes offsides call, how can people not want instant replay . . just limit it to one replay call per team per half!!

Surely that wont kill the game anymore than a diving actor?! And it will prevent Hand-of-God goals and body-of-Scholes non-goals.

If replays were used once per half - ManU would be in the quarterfinal. . .

You can never say how a game will develop if a goal hadn't been disallowed, maybe it would have been 2-2? But anyway, had the goal stood, nothing else changed and the game ended 2-1, there still would have been extra time.

I just knew it when they disallowed Scholes goal it just wasn't gona be our day.
Disappointed in Fergies tactics though. If it was 3 years ago he would have put out an attacking team.

I think if we had gone 2-0 up with Scholes goal, we wouldnt have allowed Porto the sniff of a chance to get back in the match.

BTW - i posted a topic on whether replays should be allowed in the Football Section. May wanna post answers and thoughts in there.

PEACE

Someone on another site said Ronaldo broke his leg . . can anyone confirm this??

LMAO at porto's manager, my gosh he really was excited.

As for replays they should be used, but not because all of a sudden united fans feel robbed. I mean before malbranque scored the penalty at old trafford who was the last guy to do that and when?

Ah yes u guessed it a long time ago

from manutd.com :-

livewire winger Cristiano Ronaldo was taken out of the match within minutes of coming on as a substitute.

The Portuguese youngster received a hefty challenge from Nuno Valente, resulting an injury Ferguson discribes as "a bad one".

Ronaldo will have a scan on Wednesday morning to discover the full extent of the injury, but the news of injuries to an already dented squad will come as little consolation as the Reds manager comes to terms with United's exit from Europe.

and it seems that djemba as a broken rib[/quote]

As opposed to you calling someone a "prick" and telling them to "fuck off". Takes one to know one toots.

ok fair enough classicd

noted fear u should think about what post, hasnt he already gotta a yellow, then he clearly calls us lot bastards, ok i called someone a prick and told them to fuck off so book me, but what does noted fear get ?

Football.Bloody Hell.United should have got that second goal,we really should have, cause that would have killed them. Our defence was good enough last nite, thumbs up to them for their effort especially Gary and Wes.My opinion for the Porto goal was down to T.Ho's poor positioning and even that,he made good ground to palm it,but that was the problem. Why the hell he did that for,he should have punched it away from the goal mouth or parry it to the side for a corner.90th min, leading one nil, safety should be a priority.Costly mistake T.Ho,but at 24 he still has a lot to learn and time is on his side.We should have a world class keeper in a couple of seasons in him, rest assured.Poor champions league for us this season,at least last season, this stage,we went out courtesy of Real Madrid not some scum,dirty-tactics using, cheating bunch of footballers from portugal.Good luck to them but I dont think they can go all the way,not in this lifetime.

OMG, Man United. How close you were.
The "offside" if not called, would have put you up 2-0 and surely to qualify. I just watched the game on replay. Imust say this, it looked as if you deserved the win. A great goal from scholes, brilliant cross in from O Shea..Damn, i wanted as many english clubs in the chmps lge as possible. Oh well, mayB next year. Man Yoo have never gotten kicked out before the 4tr finals..

Too true Goide, we where told to live with the ref's performance in last years final and what happened, but now the boots on the other foot it's a different story.

The better team won without a doubt, absolute destroyed Man Utd at home (only winning 2-1, somehow) and had the possession in the 2nd game, Baia didn't have to make a save in both legs. btw, that Carlos Ablerto has some unbelivable touches.

Didn't see much of the game last night but you look as though you should've killed the game off.

Have to admit I did laugh when they scored.

Is this the end of the empire, another season like this and the board will be glad they gave Fergie a rolling contract
