Manchester United Thread

I think it would do us good to bring in a bit more creativity in the middle of the park,But i dont think Joey Cole is the right man at the right time for us, we're overrun with ball winners at the minute, and Liam Miller is also due in in the summer,That should see Na na na na na na Nicky Butt be on his way out the dooor at OT, and as much as i worship the man , Keano's legs wont be up to running the midfield next season. I think we've made a big mistake letting chelski hijack the Robben deal, the guy is gonna be class.Lets just hope all the rumours of chelsea bringing in players will unsettle their squad, they look to be heading the way of some of the italian sides who have mass overhauls of their squads every season and never build up any fluidity and continuity, So who do you think We should be looking at bringing in this summer? I'd say Van der Vaart.

Porto goalkeeper Vitor Baia believes Uefa should ban Roy Keane for as long as possible.
The Manchester United captain was given his marching order in the UEFA Champions League clash in Portugal last week after stamping on the custodian as he came out to claim the ball.

The former Barcelona player believes the game's authorities should hit Keane hard for his offence when they decide his ban on Friday.

He has also denied he affected the referee's decision to dismiss the midfielder because of his reaction to the incident.

"Typically, people are trying to say it was my fault and blaming me for getting him sent off," stated Baia.

"But it is Keane who has no respect for the unwritten rules that a player jumps over a keeper when he comes out.

"Had it been somebody else I might have thought it was an accident but not from Keane."

He added: "Personally, I would not like somebody who does this type of thing as a team-mate."

A couple of games maybe but it seems like Baia wants Keane executed

He seem 2 fink he stamped on him!!!!!!!!!!! Ne1 remember the early 90s wen people were stamping on oponents mayb Baia wants blood

More problems :l
Fortune won't playing against Fulham tommorrow because of an injury.
The South African utility man, United's left-back for much of the season, hobbled away from the club's Carrington training ground on crutches on Thursday.

So now we're missing Silvestre, Rio, Gary, and Fortune.
Well, it should be an interesting game. I'm anxious to see who Fergie's gonna play. Personally, I think Fergie should try and form an attacking midfield and at least 2 forwards (any combination of Ruud, Solskjear, Deigo and Saha would be more than sufficient) and keep the defense to 3 players, and have the team score as many goals as possible and hope that Howard and the defense do thier job.

Vitor Baia is a Fanny! He should be the one having the book thrown at him for his disgraceful play acting.

GRRRRR F*ckin double post why?????

Manchester United FC captain Roy Keane has received a one-match ban following his sending-off in the UEFA Champions League defeat by FC Porto.

Challenge on goalkeeper
Keane was dismissed in the closing stages of the first knockout round first leg, which Porto won 2-1 in Portugal, following a challenge on opposition goalkeeper Vítor Baía. He caught the keeper with a trailing foot as he jumped over him.

Sits out return
UEFA's Control and Disciplinary Body today ruled he would sit out the return leg against the Portuguese champions next Tuesday (9 March). He will, therefore, be available to play in the quarter-finals should United overcome their first-leg deficit.

Looks like Keane has gotten away with his "quick step over" on Baia. Would have been harsh to get the full 3 match ban considering R. Carlos got a two match ban for his swing on the Bayern player.

theres new speculation that old traffords gonna be expanded to a 75,000 seater stadium

Yeah they are gonna seriously look into this, I think 75K would be wicked we'd still fill it everygame and the extra £££ raised by it would keep us in contention with the rest of Europes elite.

HEHE...Baia talking about fair-play...
only those who don't know him and his teammates can take him seriously...

Fulham aint scums,i think they are a fairly competitive team that deserved respect for their hardwork,to me they are one of our dodgy teams to play against.I hope we beat them tonite.

probable lineups

Howard Gk
Keane CB
Brown CB
OShea LB
Djemba Djemba RB
Butt DM
Scholes OM
Ronaldo LWF
Fletcher RM
Giggs LF
Ruud CF

No Phil Neville at right back? i'd put him there in front of Djemba Djemba, and to be honest i wouldnt let Fletcher near the first team at the minute, surely Ole's gonna be back for this one?

It is rumoured that Ole isnt actually 100% fit yet,and the few games that he played, was just to ensure the fans thats he's okay and fit again, but i beg to differ, his knee is still weak and needs more time...Djemba Djemba has been playing RB in the reserves games and I heard he's doing a great job.Another option is to put Phil and Butt both as DM in midfield and Scholes would be playing a free role on either sides.

Decent game. Ronaldo had another marvellous match, I'm really enjoying seeing him play. One of Fletcher's best games too, he's definetly suited to CM, reminded me of Scholes at times. Djemba impressed me a lot when he came on too. He seems to have the right determination to make it.

Hell yeah, finally. In the last 4 of the FA cup and we have a great chance of winning it. Darren Fletcher is the man of the match without a doubt for my money. He was pulling strings in the midfield. He was everywhere, does remind me of that bloke who left for Madrid,he used to wear number 24 too.Ronaldo, again, proving that he is a star, created lots of trouble on both flanks and is more direct now, forget about Robben,Ronaldo is here to stay! I've always liked Djemba-Djemba for his determination and brute strength.Great cameo by him, hope to see Fergie use him more oftenly.Great win by United in the end.
