Manchester United Thread

So I see Lille have filed an official complaint to UEFA about Giggs' goal. I don't know anyone involved in French football to ask, but please someone on here must do. It stinks to me of them trying to divert the blame away from themselves, who demonstrated a truly deplorable attitude threatening to pick their ball up and go home when things didn't go there way. But if the rules really are different in france, how the hell can that be?

No the rules are the same in France, just they are not used to see things like that often, but when T.Henry did it few years ago against Chelsea or aston Villa the same people(pundits,etc...)were screaming"whoooo henry is fantastic, what a clever player he is Etc.. pfff pathetic :(

smoking nothing, he does go down easily. But not as much as Barcelona. Like whores them lot.

lol this from a liverpool suporter, oh the irony....

I think uefa have shown at least some sense by dismissing the idiotic complaints from lille, cheeky bastards!!

I think the ref got both big incidents spot on, the arguments from the tit I quoted above we're bordering stupidity so I'm not gonna go on too much, just glad we finally got a win (and abit of luck away from home at the knockout stage)

Good to see you post vann, nice sig!

I saw the interview with Fergie today he came up with a great point that on Tuesday Lille took 5 quick free kicks themselves within the game, he went on to say where is the differance in taking a quick free kick just outside the box with them having a wall up. Onto the game tomorrow sounds like Ronaldo and Giggs are doubts for the game. Ronaldo's injury isnt down to him kicking the water bottles after being subbed midweek!!! his foot had been stood on and that caused the injury.

Was there any truth in him being injured from kicking the bottles? I find that hard to believe.

We're really struggling in the second half.
We havent been dominated this much even when we lost some of our games.

another HUGE slice of fortune goes united's way. you really couldnt write these scripts could you.

And a clear penalty chalked off.

If VDS had hit the player who controlled the ball, Collins John, I would be with you, stonewall penatly, and when I saw it the first time I thought it had to be. But it was actually helgesun, who was coming in from the side, who collided pretty much fully perpenticularly with the keeper. Both players went for the ball, ball was actually closer to VDS, on his left, helgesun coming from the right. So tell me, is that a penalty?

We diddn't deserve to lose from that, we desereved to lose cause they had the better chances and played better. Lucky yes.

ahahahahah, yes mate.
I love the fact that everyone hates us again now, just shows we're back on top. It just wasn't right when everyone was wanting us to do well because we've been a bit rubbish. BRING ON MORE DODGY REFEREEING DECISIONS.

We rode our luck against the best team we've played this year. Chuffed to bits. It's midnight here and I think I'll go and shag the wife.

He plays on the left!
He plays on the riiiight!
That boy Ronaldo
just made Fulham look shite!

.....but seriously, god we were lucky, they battered us in reality, especially the second half, and shouldve had a penalty at the end in all honesty. but its that kind of luck, and winning those type of matches, thats gonna win us the league

Lucky lucky United but to win the championship every team needs some luck. What im more worried about is why the likes of O'Shea and Silvestre were infront of Heinze in the pecking order?

Heinze is short against a big attack. That's probably why Nev wasn't playing either.

It wasn't a penalty. You could just as easily say the Fulham player went into Van der Sar.

First half performance was an eye-sore throughout. We were jaded.Nothing happened, misplaced passes everywhere.Pass-master Scholes and Carrick were shite. The only fresh looking player was Ronaldo and he deservedly dragged us the 3 points.Larsson should have started with Saha I think. We would have gotten a comfortable lead if we were more aggressive in attack.Numerous times Rooney could have slipped in the ball to Larsson but he chose to drag it out again and then looked lost as being closed down.Much better performance in the second half and we did grind this one out.Nice gesture by Sir Alex bringing his players to salute the travelling fans. Its 9 points till chelski plays.

It does yeah, but what else can you come to expect when it features United?

And wouldnt be surprised next week to get Mike Riley as ref, murder you for 90 minutes and giggs or rooney scoring a deflected goal, while the ref ignores a load of blatent calls against United, because thats whats been happening a lot lately. They are all scared of upsetting whisky nose.

antred, I bet you werent saying these things when Chelsea were winning matches and getting everything their own way?

Dj

teams at the top usually do and yes chelsea got the decisions a lot the last two seasons like blatent pushing in the box and handballs.

And its not as if you guys havent had your fair share of dodgy things going your way huh antred? its all swings and roundabouts.... as RuneEdge said what about "That Goal" against Chelsea in the champions league? The whole of the ball wasnt over the line.... You ended up winning that didnt you? And what about Dudek during the Penalty Shoot Out? Jumping Forward off of his Line? isnt that against the rules?

saha over rooney, hmmm then i dont think giggs gets that perfectly placed cross right on his foot... your nuts man, rooney is a must start as long as he is fit and not tired, he can have some bad touches, he can look lost, but then he does what he always does, he pulls something brilliant out of his ass and plays a perfect ball to and on running giggsy..... rooney should never ever be off the pitch.

Lke Steven "I'm a fecking diving cunt, but nothing's said cause i'm english" Gerrard did yesterday. Stop being so bitter, They make shite wine you know mate, Sour grapes.

I loved gerrard's move yesterday. He managed to completely distract the ref from the actual corner, it was great. He and the ref basically set up the defender, hilarity!
