Manchester United Thread

Its too bad for Freddy Adu then.Came with virtually a big CV but failed to make the grade at Carrington.Sure he is cocky, already a big name in the US,had a superstar girlfren in Jojo(glad she left him!) and he thinks he has the world at his feet.We dont need cockyness at United. The last player who had that sort of attitude was Eric Cantona.

I wouldnt turn down another Cantona though ;)

Just realised its Villa yet again this weekend, I reckon if United can hit a gear up from last weekends performance they should be comfortable and beat them again, so I expect no last minute Solskjaer goals this time please.

yeah but we all want to see it dont we \\:o/

Some portuguese sites mention the possibility of a deal between ManU and Barça to trade C. Ronaldo for Xavi and some cash next season.

Anything about this subject over there?

To be honest though. If an overrated youngster like Adu comes over to train with one of the biggest football clubs in the world and acts like the big 'I am', It frankly takes the piss. Especially as United have already got arguably the two best young players in the game.

I like Wes Brown as a player, I think he can be an accomplished defender when given the chance. I have read on this board though that United might sell him? Surely you guys need to get shot of that waster Silvestre first.

Quite true about that marukomu, those two along with Wes Brown are indeed United through and through.I wouldnt mind to keep them in the squad.See...to act like you are some kind of star is one thing but to actually have it in you is another.Adu just might be all spark and no fire.He was on trial for a week with us and yet we let him go back to the US.It only took Cristiano Ronaldo one match to convinced Sir Alex to sign him!

Unfortunatly your right about Silvestre, he used to be such a solid player 2 or 3 seasons ago, but lately with the incoming of gabby and evra he seemed to lose it a little.. send him back to inter!

Agree about Silvestre.I think hes the kind who gives you solid performance if he plays week in,week out.He did exactly that last 2-3 seasons.Good thing he could play CB and LB and provide us with some cover.Wasnt Lyon interested in him a while ago?

Silvestre is a good player. But my back-four would be Neville - Ferdinand - Vidic - Heinze before anyone else.

1 - 0! Park!

EDIT: Make that 2 - 0! Carrick scores his first goal for United!

EDIT: Make that 3 - 0! ROOOOOONNNNAAAALLDDDDOOOOOOOOOOO!

Park is playing very well today!

Vidic looks a bit rusty to be honest too.No way would Baros got away from him 2 weeks ago.I simply love how Carrick's goal was made and finished. That was vintage Man United.Park's goal should have boost his confidence up now,his performance has also improved over the last 2 games.13 goals for Ronaldo now and hes not even our main striker, what more can you say...player of the month twice now too.We were so dominant in the first half, the second just killed off the competitive edge...things boiling up for next week's clash with the Goons nevertheless...

Vidic should of had Baros yesterday, he could of easily put that ball into touch rather than follow him to the goal line..vidic is having the season of this life though remember, fingers crossed for the second half of the season.. and getting wenger's men back for old trafford

I think we might struggle against Arse on sunday. Giggs was rested and was also missing from the first game, so it will be interesting to see how him, Scholes and Carrick cope. They're missing Gilberto, so we might be OK in midfield.
Hopefully the scousers can do us a favour if we do lose.

I think we will edge past them as I feel we are the better team no doubt. They should be afraid of us reallly, we are Manchester Utd after all. It will be close but I feel United will be just too strong this time round. I know I got my prediction wrong the last time, but I didn't predict the team to play like they didn't care with O'shea operating in midfield playing like a plumber. Worst case senario is we draw(I cant see us losing) and chelsea win closing the gap to 4points, which I don't think will be a drama.
