Manchester United Thread

The formation we play is almost 4-2-3-1. The back 4 is solid. The next two are Keano and Phil Neville. They provide protection, but at the same time, they don't really create much - it isn't their job (though Keane has been quite good up the park too)

The attacking 3 behind Ruud are the key. Giggs on the left and Scholes in the middle are vital. They're world class creators and are unplayable on their day. It's the right side. When Ole comes back, we'll get firing. He was nothing short of awesome last season. Without him, we have Kleberson, who is more of a centre man, like Fletcher, who has done well. This leaves us with Ronaldo, who will be something amazing, but lacks the consistency, which is expected of a young lad.

Perhaps Saha's signing will signal a change in our system to a usual 4-4-2. Still, our right hand side will remain a problem, because it'd be ludicrous to place Giggs, devastating down the left, on the right, and play Scholes, class down the centre or Fortune on the left. So, all I can see is that Phil Neville is dropped (which he doesn't deserve to be), and our midfield will line up as

Ronaldo/Fletcher, Keane, Scholes, Giggs.

Still need Ole on the right.

If I was Fergie, I would play:

Howard (GK)

G.Neville (RB)
Brown (CB)
Silvestre (CB)
O`Shea (LB)

Kleberson (RM)
Keane (DM)
Scholes (OM)
Giggs (LM) Where he should be!

V. Nistlerooy (right-side striker)
Saha (left-side striker)

Scholes in the hole, pushing for the goals. What a starting eleven, with Solsjkaer, Ronaldo, Phil Neville etc on the bench!

well im back at home, this is really where i belong, sigh, a disappointing three points lost (at least one) but weve got to look foward at new things, Northampton in the FA, louis to play some football at OT...

im catholic and i would like to pray for ole's knee to be healed asap!

They have to hope the gunners choke again if their any chance of winning the comp again.

This report gives the truth about Solskjaer`s progress. Don`t panic yet, Devils . . .

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says "everything is ok" in his recovery from a knee operation after false reports suggested the Reds striker could face a further three months on the sidelines.

Ole has been out for four months after undergoing knee surgery back on 23 September. However, following a set-back in training earlier this month, Solskjaer was told by Sir Alex Ferguson to take a week's break.

Solskjaer told ManUtd.com: "I trained with the first team last week and had planned to play against Birmingham for the reserves. But, Sir Alex advised me to recharge my batteries and take a week's holiday.

"It's important for me to follow the advice of the medical staff and I must be patient and not too eager.

"With the team doing so well at the moment, there is no need for me to rush my recovery plan. However, everything is ok."

Ole's personal manager Jim Solbakken had been wrongly quoted in Norwegian newspaper VG as saying the injury could take a further three months to heal.

Sir Alex had confirmed to us last week: ”We think he did a little bit too much one day a week ago. We’re just giving him a rest this week and then he’ll be back training next week."

Although a deal to sign Fulham striker Louis Saha has been agreed in principle, Ole would make a welcome return - either to further bolster United's attack or, as he did last season, provide much needed ammunition to Ruud from a wide right position.

Well we already new it but Ryan Giggs's goal against the bandits in the semi final has been corwned the greatest FA Cup goal ever:

Ryan Giggs' wonder goal against Arsenal in the Semi-Final Replay at Villa Park in 1999 has been crowned the FA Cup's Greatest Moment by the historic cup competition's official partner, Nationwide Building Society.

Over 10,000 football fans responded to Nationwide Building Society's survey to find the most memorable moment during the competition's 132-year history.

Giggs returned to the scene of that goal earlier this month for Manchester United's FA Cup Third Round fixture against Aston Villa.

Commenting on this accolade, Ryan Giggs said: "I am absolutely delighted with this award. It's a goal that I get asked a lot about and one of my most treasured memeories at Old Trafford. For that goal to be voted as the best FA Cup moment of all time is a great honour from football fans everywhere and Nationwide."

Nationwide's Chris Hull said: "As an official partner of the FA Cup, Nationwide was delighted to host this fascinating debate. It is a survey which has stimulated many discussions around the country at matches, at home and in bars. We decided that we wanted to give every football fan in the country the opportunity to vote for their most treasured moment in the World's most famous domestic cup competition and Ryan's amazing goal is a worthy winner. Ryan's amazing goal is a worthy winner and a truly defining moment in the FA Cup's history."

None of the top 5 were scored before 1979 though!!

MILNER FOR UTD?
The Daily Telegraph and the Daily Star seem to think that Leeds will be willing to part with young striker James Milner. Spurs were told on Thursday that they would need to offer £10m for the duo of Milner and keeper Robinson, but there is no assurance that they will sell, with chairman Trevor Birch determined to hold on to their players until the last possible moment. Manchester United are this morning's suitors and could be a more attractive option for Milner.

Parma meanwhile are hoping Utd increase their interest in defender Matteo Ferrari after Juventus insulted the crisis club by offering a megre £800,000 for the 24 year-old centre-half.

I've always thought that Matteo Ferrari was a bit special.

Damn it! how stupid Juve are to offer so little! Juve could've already had Ferrari if we would've bidden a lot more then we did.

hahaha that game still gets to Wenger and gooners to this day...

beautiful!!!

The moment that gives me goosebumps, even though I didn't get to see it first time was Mickey T's goal at Anfield in 89. Now that is how you win a league in style.

Good old Michael Thomas. Now, that takes me back! By the way, Nicky, does Henry`s body turn you on? ;)

Henry's body is in hiding from Danny Mills at the moment, Good old Danny will snap him next time they play on the same pitch ;)

Do you guys really need Milner from Leeds with Saha and RVN? I mean if one of those 2 gets injured then the other is capable of playing upfront alone with Scholes behind.

Wouldnt be willing to sell Ole to the Boro would u? ;) :D
