Manchester United Thread

Read the news lately? Dumbass Ballack should have stuffed his mouth with all the money that he got than talk about how he chose Chelski ahead of us because they were the better team.

Funny that, Robben said the same thing upon signing for chelsea(with all the others that have followed) and there are rumours circulating that he could be on his way out this summer.

I feel sorry for SWP, Duff and Joe Cole (not Robben LOL) due to the lack of games. Duff was amazing last year against barca in the CL 2nd Leg. And Joe Cole always comes on as a super sub figure. And SWP not playing enough games to get into England squad.

I would certainly like Joe Cole to replace Giggs.
What do you guys think of our chances of getting Sheva? I really want him to come, makes me so mad thinking of him playing for Chelski!

I'd Sheva too but why spend so much for someone who isnt really gonna last any longer than Ruud?
I suggest we hold onto Ruud for one last season and then next season we buy a big name striker.
Adriano is the only one I can think of out of the ones that Chelsea no longer are linked with, plus Adriano is only 22. Its hard to believe that he's a long way away from his peak.
With Adriano, we'd be deadly in the air and on the ground.

Out of Chelsea's wingers, I'd take Duff any day of the week. He'd give more variety to our team and imo, he's still the best of the lot.

It will be hard to replace ruud but football is like that time heals everything. I wish he don't leave we won't get a striker who can bang 21-25 goals every season in a league. People are saying adriano but i dn't think he is that good i have seen him play for brazil and inter, i don't think he is a complete player and i don't see him score more than ruud. He is too left footed player i admit he has good shooting but sometimes when he has a chance to score with right foot he don't do that and tries to bring it to left foot and loses the ball. I would love it if we get fernando torres he is class player young, both footed, speed and can score headers.

Imagine Adriano and Rooney playing together. That would look a very intimidating partnership upfront lol.

I agree about Adriano, that brasilian is wayyy too moody for my liking and everybody knows for a fact that left footed players are pretty much, one footed. Most complete brasilian striker ever is still Romario.Nando Torres would be a gamble as he is frail looking to me.Personally I like physical strikers and the last one we had of that type was Sparky Hughes!! Rumours circling around that Eidur Gudjohnsen are interested in joining us.He is one classy forward, love the bloke.Plenty for good forwards on show this coming worldcup but one rising starlet that we should take a good look at is staying home.Klaas Jan Huntelaar.

yes we will miss ruud (if he goes) but until we signed him we never really had a regular 20+ goals a season striker, and that was our most successful period...

There are some good strikers out there but as with the CMF situation I'd like to sign someone who will fit in straight away, we havent got the comfort zone of a years bedding in period.

I'd like to see Diarra, Lennon, Carrick and Dirk Kuyt at United next season. I reckon we can get all four if we sell Silvestre, Fortune, Fletcher, Miller.

Maybe we relied on Ruud too much for goals. All the best United teams scored from everywhere. Remember Steve Bruce scoring 18 in a season?

I dont think which foot Adriano uses would be an issue. He can be great with both feet at times and when at his peak, people have described him as a "young Ronaldo on steroids"

This is exactly why I believe, if Ruud is leaving, we need a proven world class striker. We havent bought a big name since Rooney and that was more of a "now or never" situation. I dont want Ruud to leave and then we use that as an excuse for being a bit shy up front next season.
We've been linked with TONS of proven players but we always end up with something else. When Roy Carroll left, many of us thought Buffon was coming, when Keano left before Christmas, we all thought we're getting Ballack, and there are many more like Owen, Essien, etc that we've recently missed out on.
Although the replacements have been good, I'm still awaiting that big signing that hopefully changes things for us.
Big signings send out a message to your opposition and fills them with fear. Kinda like when Ballack first plays for Chelsea, he might not even be as good as people expect but cuz he's "Ballack", people will fear him at first and maybe even allow him to play better. Its like a psychological trick which actually wins you half the battle. IMO, this is one of the reasons that makes guys like Henry and Rooney so effective. People fear them and then panic.

our location doesn't help in signing big players. They would prefer London. It has become easier for Chelsea to sign big players because of the money, but also their location

:lmao: i think you need to put that in the Arsenal thread!

Not that I'm hoping your lot get any better  , but don't you think you should test Milan's resolve with a bid for Shevvy and use Van Nistelrooy as bait.

I really have a feeling that Sheva would prefer Man Utd to Chelsea.

|If you offered any player of 22 years that they could leave to replace Van Nistelrooy and £16 million, surely that would be something everyone could be happy about. How could Atletico reject such an offer? How could the player?"

Fernando Torres! get him! he is good, he just lack proper training and guidance...
forget about diarra, he is not worth that kind of money, O shea can play in that position good enough
get sneijder, we lack a good freekick taker, our set piece sucks

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread- New Ronaldinho Signed??

Manchester United are reportedly in talks to sign Brazilian starlet Kerlon.

The 18-year-old, full name Kerlon Moura Souza, is Cruzeiro's prized asset and is one of the hottest young properties in Brazil.
He came to the fore last year during the South American Under-17 championship where he helped his country lift the title in Venezuela - whilst also winning both the top-scorer and player of the tournament awards.
It was during the junior competition that Sir Alex Ferguson is believed to have been tipped off about the boy, whose genius is compared to that of Ronaldinho.
His party trick - which he employs regularly during a game - is something called the 'seal dribble', as he flicks the ball onto his head and runs with it past the opposition, who cannot challenge him without committing a foul.
Kerlon admits it is something he has always been able to do: "It's just a skill I have, though it's not meant to be a mark of disrespect to my opponents.
"Opponents say they will snap me, but this doesn't scare me, it just motivates me even more."
United, having missed out on Ronaldinho, are keen to secure the player who is being tipped to succeed him with the national side and Cruzeiro admit he is available.
"We are always ready to listen to offers for Kerlon," Cruzeiro vice-president Zeze Perrella told The Times and he confirmed a deal was close with a Premiership club - believed to be United.
"We have had a lot of interest in him and we have been in close contact with an English team, but right now we are not there on the money."
One problem for Ferguson and United, is that Kerlon may not immediately qualify to play in England - as at the moment it appears he has no European relatives from whom he could draw an EU passport.
Should Kerlon arrive in England, who would have to be loaned out until he could secure a permit to play in The Premiership.

Apparently this deal could be wrapped up today for £6mill so expect Chelsea to hijack it...

thats crap... swap torres for RVN and on top of that we give them 16 million???

every time man utd wants to buy any player... i will get the feeling chelsea will step in and outbuy us.... its spoiling the market with those kind of price tags... like essien, 25 milion.. setting the benchmark for diarra

Euros tho!

Its because his release clause is like 90m euros.

Also need to stop complaining abot Diarra's price. They dont have to sell him so have evry right asking for whatever money they want. He signed a 4 year contract last year

we'd be getting rid of ruuds £4.5 mill wage and a player who wants to leave, @ 22 Torres would be worth in excess of £20 mill so I think its a possibilty, Rooney, Torres, Saha and Smith is a decent front line.

LOL i was looking at the manutd website and theres a poll on which striker should man utd buy... the percentage that choose Torres was staggering... 80% out of 9 strikers

Diarra is class and IMO better than Essien ( i saw them play at OT a couple of seasons back) we are not gonna get him for less than £20dd mill.
