Manchester United Thread

I agree. And I also dont like the idea of swapping players who are in different positions unless they are surplus to requirements at the club. If we swap Ruud for a striker, we instantly bring in a replacement the moment Ruud leaves. It keeps the flow of players coming in and going out, a lot more tidy.
For example, if you swapped one of your strikers for a defender and one of your defenders for a striker, and then one of those deals broke down, your team would have lost some balance.

Diarra maybe is not right for the swap but its better than payin all our budget on him. Anyway Lyon want Drogba.

We need a player who just sits in fron of back for & hardly attacks, he is that person plus hes only 24.

If you guys see him play on regular basis you will lnow how good he is. Put it this way hes worth the money Essien is not.

Its your opinion tho.

remember, smith and scholes will be back, as well as pique and rossi from reserves. Add Diarra + another striker to that, and we got a class team.

Diarra, from what i have seen, is an incredible player.

Exactly the way he played against Milan just showed that he can mix it against the top clubs in Europe. Its the exact player we need.

We only need astriker then & we are sorted.

Wingers?? We have Richardson and Park as covers on the wings...I'm still gutted that Ballack is joining Chelski rather than us...so we have to get Momo Diarra!!

I'd like to see Ronaldo moved off the wings and into the middle, like he plays for Portugal, which is why Lennon would be good for the right wing. Richardson's a little to inconsistent atm imo.

Ronaldo will not be a striker anytime soon, he has no composure nor clinical finishing ability. But I will say his pace, touch and acceleration would make him dangerous. Until he calms down when he has a shot he won't be up front for us though.

Maybe news about Diarra today? From what people are saying he's the real deal, i hope so! As for Ballack, well he clearly sold out. If he's that interested in the money, I predict he'll go, get hurt and ride out his contract. Wonder what Essien is thinking right now. Bet Lyon are feeling pretty good about that piece of business!!!

Feeling good!!! Their laughing all the way to the le bonk, I would assume that they’re going to do the same with Diarra and hold you mancs to ransom. Shame about Ballack, one of my favourite players as well as Shevchenko and both are going to the chavs. :(

Don't think they will as the way Chelsea conducted themselves made Lyon more persistent to get as much money as possible.

damn lyon... i dont tink diarra is worth 25 million... they are just trying to extort money...he is more like 18 million

Who said £25m?? The media, just wait & see. I highly doubt its £25m, more like £20m.

They are trying to get the best price for a guy who signed a new contract last year. You cant blame them.

Should by Joey Barton.

I think we should get a big striker. I cant remember us having one for quite some time. I dont know why but I can see Drogba doing well if he played for us but thats never gonna happen (and I hate his attitude anyway).
If someone like Adriano was possible, he wouldnt be too bad. I hear he's not perform so well anymore so I wouldnt expect a crazy £60million price tag.

They know that United need Diarra as they have already lost Ballack. They know too that after July 2nd Real Madrid will have a president and will try to get Diarra if he is still on the market. So Lyon know that United will pay pretty much what they ask for in this situation. :)

I think Diarra will make United a very solid team. It's one thing to play with Fletcher and Park alone, and one very different to play with Scholes and Diarra. :)

Hes awful lately. He went through a period of 2 months where he didnt score a single goal.

I'd no longer call him a striker. :lmao:

Read the news lately? Dumbass Ballack should have stuffed his mouth with all the money that he got than talk about how he chose Chelski ahead of us because they were the better team. That is soooo gonna make him a hated figure once he step into OT.Big striker? When was the last time we ever had a big striker in the premiership?? I think Ruud is the biggest in terms of presence and size that we ever got...Lots of random players being released and one noticeble star being 'let-go' is Joey Barton.Terrific player but I dont think he would wanna come to OT,played for Citeh and is a pure scouse.

Didn't realise Ballack turned you mancs down...When a new player signs for chavski you know they're going to say it had nothing to do with the money, I think its clear as day that they're bull-shiting. If a player joins a club because of its stature/reputation/history then Chavski are definitely behind Liverpool, ManU, Arsenal even Newcastle is a bigger club than Chavski.

Let Chelski have their fun for now, we all know it won't last. The second some of these players that came for the 'long term prospects' face a pay cut, they'll be out the door just behind Jose...

They are buying another winger, maybe we should go after Duff?

Aint gonna happen tho with our transfer budget.

SWP will probably go Liverpool
See that pisses me off, Liverpool were so close in signing Simao, it was reported that he was boarding a plane on his way to Anfield for a medical. Now Chavski are going to hijack the winger from under our noses and to rub salt in the wounds they'll dump SWP on us.

Simão is not for sold, he will still with us in the next season.

Anyone else eagerly awaiting some signings...but becoming more dissappointed by the day? Plus, what ever happened to the Ruud discussions that took place a week ago. Dammit Fergie and co give us some updates!
