Manchester United Thread

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

it's a crying shame to see such a joyless celebration for such a wonderful goal. it has just been that type of season. pity that we haven't achieved what we expected ourselves to acheive at the beginning of the season, but we can only move on from here. hopefully the players are loyal enough to give it one more go next time round.

go on united! let's make it two FA Cups on the trot then!

and on rooney's goal, i say! get in there boy! what a quality goal from a quality footballer

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

What an amazing goal by Rooney!! I hope Man utd can be second on the table.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Anyone seen the full video of the goal on sky? It shows Rooney litraly having a right go at the ref the he just runs onto the volley and the rest is history.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

What. A. Goal. Amazing volley by Rooney, too bad the other team had to set it up.
The Heinze injury was horribley unforetunate, he's been one of our best players this season. Did you guys see how he came down on his leg from the jump? OW!!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

not as significant as zizous from the cl final but its surely up there with that bloody helll wat a smash. rooney is just pure and raw talent///// hope to see more

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Great goal by Rooney but im still worried about our performances. Rooney just basically got us out of jail yesterday otherwise the most we could have hoped for was a draw.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Personally I'm still in shock that we scored from a corner, normally when we get corners i take that as a good time to grab a drink from the fridge. But again, we don't make easy chances. No tap ins, no good crosses. I realy like fletch, but he isn't doing anything the past two apperances, and okay he was injured, so i guess he'll get better. I think the problem is that when Ruud is playing up front we need to have giggs and maybe fletch in, because they look up for the long through ball. But when rooney's up there, he's often level witht he midfield, so need the pacier, ronaldo/kleberson/giggs combo. Basically we do'nt seem to have a single style of play, and i think that's whats wrong. But most likely I am ;)

Anyway, still on the prowl for a copy of the rooney goal...anyone?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

yesterday was the result we've needed in the league for the past few weeks, we didnt play to our usual standard but got the 3points, the win was more important than how we won...

Yet another fantastic goal by the boy wonder.

Its been a funny year..

We've had a great cup run and i'm looking forward to the final..

the signings of Rooney/Heinze have been fantastic.

The double over the mickey's brought a smile to my face..

putting arsenal in well and truly their place (4-2!!!!!!!!!!!)

getting our 1st win the blues council house...

Oh well, we'll be back next year!!!!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Second place seems unlikely now and its starting to worry me. The Gunners are 4 points ahead and we dont have enough games to close the gap, plus we still have to play Chelsea.
I'm hoping we finish second because of the fact that you're considered the second best team but I dont see why Sir Alex always goes on about how having to avoid the CL qualifiers is a big thing. Man Utd realistically arent ever gonna lose a qualifier and if we do, we dont really deserve the european cup anyway. Fergies way of thinking and style of management has changed quite a bit over the years.

After thinking about this for a moment and watching a few classic matches, I think I've realised how this all happened.
We all remember Sir Alex as being a great motivator and being able to get the best out of players. It all started from the moment we saw our youth team win the FA Youth Cup which lead to the players like Giggs, Scholes, Butt, Beckham, etc breaking through. In those days, Sir Alex wouldnt hesitate to give players a piece of his mind if they werent pulling their weight. These days it seems like Sir Alex doesnt discipline his players like he used to. In the past it was easier cuz the players grew up with the squad. But if you have a young 19 year old portugese player who hardly understands english, how do you discipline him when he does something wrong? Can any of you imagine Rooney getting a mouthful from Sir Alex? I'm sure Sir Alex knows that if he pisses off some of his younger players, they probably get upset (maybe cry a little) and would want to leave the club. I'm sure some of you remember this season when Ronaldo missed an open goal and then got a mouthful from Gary? When Ronaldo scored at the end of that game, he didnt celebrate cuz you could tell he was still in a bad mood from what happened earlier. So its harder to discipline and motivate players now the younger ones might take it the wrong way and get upset which is a major problem IMO.
Most of our games have lacked the fight and the willingness to win which is the main reason why we're 3rd right now. The last time we were so pumped up for a game was at Highbury because of what happened in the tunnel before the game. And that ended 4-2 to us.
This is a serious problem for us and its gonna get worse once Keano retires.

Thats just IMO though.

Good for Gabriel Heinze, I saw him in the Copa América of Perú and I believed he didn't have enough level as defender in Europe, but in the Premier League he is emphasizing very well.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Whats the story with Heinze and his ankle, I seen the replay and it looked very bad, the way he landed, at first I thought it was his knee, but the commentator said it was his ankle, surely has to be broken, if it aint he is one lucky guy.

I totally i agree.I always wonder about this aswell, weather a player like rooney or ronaldo ever gets told off or even kleberson and veron when he was at the club. I just couldnt imagine keane or Fergie having a real go at those players.

Do you actually think that Sir Alex isnt afraid to have a go at guys like Rio, Rooney, Ronaldo, etc?
The fact is we need those players more than they need us. And Fergie isnt stupid enough to upset them to a point where they want to leave.

From the guy who thinks Fergie & Keane are scared of shouting at there players and thought Sundays performance you played flowing football again and your counter attacks looked deadly at times! and thats just the last two days, if you talked sense (like most of ther other fans on here)i wouldnt be so negative but then again iam a city fan!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Naughty boy Rio! A tin of paint! Throwing CD's? Reminds me of Jan Molby.....:D

Anyway, just a bit peeved at Fergie - apparently it's sinister that Utd haven't got many penno's this season....referee conspiracy? Is that the same one that gave Utd 97 minutes to dispose of Blackburn all those years ago?

I think you're a bit confused. I was just giving my theory as to why Man Utd dont look focused at times. I'm not saying thats the fact. None of us really know what goes on in the dressing room so stop making negative comments cuz you know as much as we all do, which is nothing.
Secondly, I never said we played flowing football cuz I dont think we did.
And if you dont think Ruud, Rooney and Ronaldo offer a deadly counter attack, then I think you need try opening your eyes when watch Man U play.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

RuneEdge i think your confused as i wasnt commenting on your post please read more carfully before saying im confused!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I think you are confused cuz although you quoted Alucard, I'm the one that said Fergie & Keane are affraid to shout at the players and I also said that we have a deadly counter attack.
That was me, not Alucard.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Can you please show me where you said that in last Sundays game agaist Newcastle you were deadly in counter attack beacause i cant see that anywhere? as for the other crap your spouting about fergie and keane Ill just put that down to you taking to many stupid pills! Also It might be worth you checking out a couple of autobiographys like Keanes or even Beckhams get to know a bit more of what your talking about!

then fergie must be sacked... A coach who doesn't shout at the players when they do something wrong, is weak and will likely fail...

but considering what i've seen of fergie, I doubt he is afraid of something like that.

If you find that sooo funny then your a sad man im afraid. Yes in second half against newcastle i thought we could of killed them off coz we were looking deadly on counter attack once we took the lead, maybe i shouldve of said that instead.
Im not going to go in anymore detail on how i think we played last sunday, coz you dont voice a valid opinion on football, you just come out with crap ass comments against peoples opinions with nothing backing it up.

It seems like your on here to prove how funny and right you are all the time which is sad to be honest. You must get no satsifaction in life to come on here and make snide remarks about peoples opinion/thoeries right or wrong.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Listen Allucard i have never once made a personal attack on yourself just your uneducated and unrealstic views of something i know a hell of alot more about than you! There is no reason back up comments i make when its plain that the original poster (yourself)has a severe lack of understanding of what goes on at the club he alledges to support! and again to go on about my life when you know f all about me and just cant argue your case! and you say im sad

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Comon lads sort it out now. Personally i dont know why youre arguing with Jamie cos he hasnt said much wrong.
