Manchester United Thread

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Say what you will about O'Shea, but that goal was sublime. Loved the way he looked up to check the keeper right before he chipped. Reminded me of Eric. I hope these last two games mark a turnaround for the lad. Great night... reminded me of the old days when we had that kind of intensity and passion all the way from Boxing Day to the FA Cup finals. Let's hope we can keep it up for Milan.

He couldn’t have headbutted you if you hadn’t run over to him and provoked the situation you numbnut!

Provocation or not, the headbutt was out of order! Surely you can't defend Silvestre just because Freddie "ran over to him".

You won the match mate with a brilliant performance. Surely its time to let this drop now and we can all just move on.

What do you mean? No one is sticking up for Silvestre. Not even our manager. I was all Mikael's fault and we know it.

It was a disappointing result yesterday. Sparky almost did it for us. The only good thing to come out of the game is that Robben is injured and could be out for a month or maybe more. Huth is also injured too.
Am I sensing a injury crisis?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I'm telling u,nobody here is defending Silvestre whatsoever,he will be punished by the Gaffer for unproffessional behaviour to say the least. The scenes in the tunnel is just fookin amazing.Vieira tries to wind up G.Nev,only for captain Keano to intervene and chokes the frenchman with icy stares,a few finger pointings and a few curses to top it off.Later on,Keane,Carroll and Scholes did not shake Vieira's hand but G.Nev did...

The scenes from the tunnel would have gave us a great mental boost going into the game. I remember Alex Stepney saying on MUTV that you could have spend half an hour getting a team talk from your manager but Keane gave us a better one in the tunnel. Knowing that your captain is ready to stand up for the team sets a great example for everyone else.
Keane is God!

PS. I got a new signature!!! YAY!!! :D

I need to make a GIF of O'Shea's goal for my avatar.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

@ sheva: haha well i had to do it :D

@ rune: that would be smashing, what a goal that truly was, loved the way no one really knew it went in, even sheasy himself was like "i wasnt offside? no? ALRIGHT IVE SCORED AGAIN!"

*edit* just ran over some news on alan smith. i was a bit concerned over his absense and now this worry has been confirmed. he had picked up an ankle injury and apparently fergie had rushed him back too quickly in smitty's recent match. he has had a setback in his recovery, however another of our striker's on the way up. RVN has been put on a "sprinting programme" and that means that he should be well on his way back.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

So what does all this mean? Who is the best team in England now? I guess its Chelsea? they are top of the league, but somehow I'm not convinced. I'm not saying its easy to beat lesser teams, but i think its the big games like Arsenal v Man U that measure the true class of a team. As an Arsenal fan, even though i hate saying it and we were pretty fantastic last season, i don't remember the last time we really "took care" of a team like Manchester. It seems like its always a struggle and we drop because of the equal quality they have on the pitch and their clubs prestige, plus all the hype of course. I know we've beaten man U a couple of times but we have never been able to dominate them and they've seem to have the stronghold in the majority of our battles. Maybe it will change with Arsenals new stadium, perhaps not, but United showed how much they wanted to beat us and they went out and did it. We simply weren't able for them and its dissapointing as a fan. Fair play Man U.

Keano-Vieira Bust-up

i picked up keano saying something like "...your mother..." to vieira

anyway, HE DESERVES TO RILE UP HIS OPPONENTS! after an uncomparable performance against the arse, he was once again commanding in the midfield as his 50th goal for manchester united proved the game winner over birmingham city at home. what a game for keano, he was all over the place and only sometimes did it seem that we missed scholesy.

great game overall, fancy footwork from ronaldo is always a treat. he did well too on both goals

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

At the age of 33 and despite a hip thats probably creaking more than ever,Keano channelled every ounce of energy he had left in that one shot.In his expression you could see how happy he was in breaking that duck,he's like a boy again. He was enourmous again in leading his team to victory. Will we ever see a player like him again?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

no doubt liam miller wont be able to live up to the "next-roy-keane" expectations, albeit im taking nothing from the boy, he has got nothing but potential and i hope he can come close to what people are labelling him
