Manchester United Thread

Kahn? Casillas?

Kahn excellent keeper, world class though, not for me.

Iker has got all the medals but then again so has Valdes, so has Barthez, doesnt make them world class.

But we havent really set the criteria. I dont see there being a plethora of world class talent. which is good. You may get two five a side teams at a push

My criteria would be, biggest game in World Football, The Final. who would you want in net?

Over past 15 years I'd say Buffon and from 2013 to possibly the 2020's you could see Manuel being worlds top GK.

Typical United really. Don't think it is a fair indication of the game since then though. Passing is just for awful today but I fancy us to get a few in the 2nd.

;)
You lot always scare me a bit even though based on past results we should be pretty confident. Hopefully an off day for Sanchez and no heroics from I wanna be a striker real bad Walcott.

I wrote that just as banter, you know. I didn't know Arsenal would actually open up a can of ass whipping!

If we had a team with that killer instinct like Ferguson used to, this could turn real ugly.
But Wenger's sides have a tendency to become complacent, as you could see in the end of the 1st half.

Will be interesting to see how the teams will come back.

also is it me or Rooney looks finished?

now watch him score in second half :D

He s looked finished for a long time now. Wonder if LvG dare take him off.
Edit: not quite but at least it looks like he s been told to stay the feck away from the front.

Well, that was shite wasn't it? Everything feel apart. United looked incredibly toothless, but Arsenal also defended really well.

You guys should look for another plan B, because long balls to the big man aren't going to cut it anymore. You were lucky enough to get away with 3 only, it could've been worse, so much worse (BVB got 5).

PS: This league is really exciting; a team than can loose to a mid-table team like ours can still hammer title contenders at home. Lovin' it!

Going to be a horrible day today. Two consecutive heavy defeats...think any pressure might be on LVG?

We're 3 points worse off than the corresponding fixtures last year, and still playing nothing like decent football.

We're so going to regret sticking with LVG when Klopp as available. No idea why. He talks a good game, but when the action moves to the pitch...

Well, in my defence, didn't expect to see last season's player of the year. Love that man.

Pretty good, though De Gea kept us in at the start of the 2nd half. Rooney should probably have had one more, and Lingaard should have scored too.

Martial...good lord. It looks too easy for him. Seamus Coleman was toast.

We were excellent yesterday.

Probably took advantage of Everton not being at the races due to the untimely death of Howard Kendall (RIP) but we did our job and didn't give them a sniff.

I hope the midfield three of Schweinsteiger, Schneiderlin and Herrera is our mainstay now. One thing is for sure that Ander should start because he brings everything we need and noone else in the midfield can do.

Amazed Rooney scored against Everton but he was dogshit as ever.

Herrera can change the tempo of our play, everyone else in midfield is happy to keep that steady tempo but he injects that bit of directness.

Back to normal service after a strange Everton match.

I fear for whoever is after LVG, our players won't have sprinted forward in 2 years...

Probably had 70% possession and didn't muster a shot in anger in 45 minutes. This is the LVG era most of the time.

It's dire.

And dull. I mean, if we would lead I would go with this route but so? No pace, no vehemence, no rearing back. Where is the United from last match? Well, we will see if Fellaini could spark some fire.
