Manchester United Thread

He's overpriced, overhyped and clearly a bit of a d*ck. Do not want. Doesn't seem like a LVG-system striker either.

Then again, neither was Mane is there's anything to that. Which there may nto be.

Bwahaha, anyone doubting Fergie: This is the team that won 5-2 on aggregate last time we played Wolfsburg:

----------------Kuszczak--------------
--Valencia--Fletcher--Carrick--Evra---
--------------Scholes-Gibson----------
----Park----------------------Nani----
------------Owen----Welbeck-----------

Subs: Obertan, Gill, James, Eikrem, Stewart, Foster, Valencia

Yeah.

Yeah.

I would like to thank Manchester City for buying DeBruyne. :WORSHIP:

I agree, but do you think van Gaal does aswell?

Well he knows we need a top drawer signing which is why Neymar, Muller and Bale keep getting talked about regardless of how difficult or unrealistic it would be sign any of them.

The Pedro signing is a strange one, he should have been signed but who knows what happened there.

Actually, I'd take Bale. No need for Neymar nor Muller. This way Mata can drop behind Rooney with Bale on the right and Memphis on the left. That would look much more lively :D

Well I say that because I think Mata operates better as a number 10, and we already have Memphis on the left. So we're missing a winger on the right and don't think neither Muller nor Neymar fit that position. So I'd go with Bale for that. Plus he can give us aerial threat for set pieces.

Oh good, another number 10!

We were heavily linked right at the start of the window, don't see anything there personally. Nothing from England - all the reports originated in Italy.

Somewhat surprisingly, I don't see us signing anyone else. Once we sell Valdes and Evans we should have spent about $0 this summer, and also freed up $850k per WEEK from the wage bill.

At the same time City will have bought almost 200m of talent, on top of the best squad in the league.

So erm, anyone expecting us to challenge them. Yeah.

Beach I swear I'd probably fall into a deep depression if I had to hang out with you on a daily basis. Perhaps I am too gullible but I like to think that a lot of our staff and management (except for the Glazers) know what they are doing. The new reality is that the likes of City, Chelski and PSG are going to spend spend spend. In the end I like to think we have and are building a much more solid foundation. Tho truth be told, City's investment in its Academy and facilities is admirable, even if the financial muscle for it might not be "fair".

Based on the constant transfer rumors surrounding us for specific positions and the fact the club barely ever denies it, I do still think we are trying for that superstar signing. As LVG himself said: they can't tell you anything about their transfer strategy because that would weaken their position. A lot of these rumors are probably supported by United in order to keep potential rivals confused.
It does sound though like the club is preparing to accept that we might not get whoever we ve truly been after based on the comments that coach is happy with the current squad. Somewhat disappointing if true, but I assume that same disappointment would be shared by Woodward and LVG. At the very least let's not forget we signed Bastian Fucking Schweinsteiger, and arguably the world's or one of the world greatest young talents in Memphis, as well as a so far extremely impressive Damian and the almost equally impressive
Schneiderlin (who might be the most United like signing in a while)

Haha, fair enough. For whatever reason I find football-fandom a far more negative one than any other sports I follow. I blame the way it's covered in the media ;)

It's also true that (despite what other teams want you to believe) United have never really been about buying world class talent at its peak. But, that was with Ferguson and before the oil-money, and the world has changed.

Depends what you want from United as a fan. Personally, I'd just like some good football as I've got very few hours of free time (have a 1 year old) and if I'm going to spend 2 of them a week watching us, I want it to be fun. That's pretty much it.

I much preferred the Newcastle match over the Villa match, because it was actually entertaining. Result be damned. We have some decent talent, let's see what LVG does with it.

MUFC has the highest transfer purchase in the history. What are you spewing? What has MCFC won last last season- nada! I think buying is a risk just like any success.

As it stands (pre KDB), and with all add ons included for both teams, not just City, Utd have spent around 17m net and City around 22m net

But he didn't say anything about money. He's saying United were never about buying class players at their peak. He didn't say we never spent big money.

the similarities of spending a huge sum on a single player vs a quality player at their peak its the same direction using a different path.

No video, it's just 1 person and it's just comments.

Chelsea one had a video, it was a huge chanting group and they wouldn't even allow the abused person on the bus

No videos means it doesnt count. Just lacks the media potential with only being words.

That is certainly part of the explanation. The other part is, that this isn't about pantomime villains Chelsea.

My reaction: every team has racist fans, behaviour like this reflects not on the club, not on the fans of theclub, it just (and obviously) reflects on this particularly people and the fact that they are football fans is not even relevant. Would media write about racist Tesco employees? Idon't think so.

I wonder what people who claim to be outraged about things like this, think about Calais, Macedonia and a truck in Austria. 99% don't give damn...this is all about football, not about racism....

Havent seen much of utd's games, but Rooney looks like a midfielder playing as a striker. Just too slow when presented with a chance.

I wish the top 4 would get their act together and show how shite Rodgers is doing.
