Manchester United Thread

Not a chance, that would ruffle more than some feathers, Bastian won't need the captaincy anyway to be a leader on the pitch, I suspect over the season he'll eventually become quasi captain anyway even if he doesn't necessarily have the armband.

Yeah Morgan should still be on the way, De Gea will be a loss but I was accepting of it, however i am getting worried now im hearing whispers of Valdes being sold or wanting to leave, surely not?

Ramos/De Gea saga will hopefully be sorted soon

Ud have to wonder if DDG isn't watching the drama unfold at Real every time and have second thoughts. I don't know about all of you but I'd rather work at company that treats me right rather than put up with crap just to say I work for company xyz.
Part of me wants to think United and DDG are having some fun with all of this. Like LVG saying to David: "hey you know what be fun? Go to Madrid, wear a shirt that says I am tired and show up at lavish parties just to f with the press. It ll be hilarious!"

I heard or read that De Gea wouldn`t make any steps toward RM unless Casillas was sold. He is known to break the harmony up among fellow GK on the squad. Casillas went on about Mou blocking his transfer to Arsenal by allowing Cech. So, whether its true or not Casillas shows behaviour of a narcissistic personality.

You wouldn't let drama stop you from signing for Utd tho I'm sure

On RVP, I wonder whether his kid is still with City's academy or has he gone to Turkey with him?

RVP kid started at Arsenal . So, you can imagine he will play in Turkey. I heard David`s Beckham son was cut from the Arsenal youth system .

About De Gea, given the choice for either Man Utd of Real Madrid, i would stay with United.
Real Madrid is not a stable club. I know i'm prejudiced because Madrid is the one club i really don't like, but i guess it is fair to say that Real Madrid isn't a stable club...

Morgan Schneiderlin talks are in advance stage will be announced in the coming few days . It's decision time for Schneiderlin either A or B
I wonder if options means club wise or contract wise. I don`t think any other club were in for him.

Godo: fair point but Real's drama seems to take the cake time and time again. Especially now that we no longer have SAF to stir things up.

Regarding RvP.. Rio posted this on Facebook which seems to confirm how disappointing SAF's retirement was for him:

As I am posting this... it looks like my former team-mate Robin van Persieis joining Fenerbahçe.

The moment Sir Alex Ferguson told us in the changing room at Carrington that he was retiring, I looked to my left around 6 lockers where I saw a totally devastating looking RVP... he was shaking his head in shock, completely disheartened it seemed. Robin took it the worst out of the whole squad.

I, like many of the squad had been lucky enough to have played under Fergie for many years but Robin had just got to the club and part of his fairy-tale of joining was playing under Sir Alex.

We would travel to games together and he would talk about him & how he compared or was different to Wenger & ask loads of questions about the great man. He had found a place & a manager that completely got RVP - Ferguson knew RVP 's goals would get us the title back & so throughout the first 6months of the season he was drilling it home to the other players to get the ball into him or else! Imagine the confidence that would have been running through his veins after hearing his boss talk like that to a team he respected - about HIM and HIS importance to winning! And yes we went on to win the league that year and a large part of that was RVP's goals that got us there!

As a player he is so silky to watch, great touch, can hold the ball up & bring others into play, timings of his runs, skills & a dream of a left foot....oh and he can finish!
He was actually a better player than I thought he was when he arrived at Manchester United - I had played against him many times vs Arsenal, so I knew he was good but not this good. Maybe that was because he was up against me and VIDA though!! On a serious note though, I think that was the general thought through the squad too.
"We'll done boss on bringing him here "

The goal against Aston Villa FC will forever be remembered by Manchester United fans - the ball from Wayne Rooney....then the volley....oooofff stop it!!! Don’t get me started on the last minute winner away at Manchester City!!

Two players have left Manchester United this week for Fenerbahce – they both leave being a large part of the clubs recent success. Considering the prices being paid elsewhere, the club will deem both signings as a success.

Good luck Van Pizzle!!

That 1 season lol SAF used him like a cheap whore. I bet SAF did all he could to get Robin knowing he was leaving. Robin knew his career was on the slope w/ SAF calling it quits and apologising to Robin. Then, smirked off saying "you were always a Arsenal scum in my book, son!". He knew his future would end one day by joining a Turkish club. Good Luck! hopefully you can return to OT and score lol

He ll probably kick us out of the CL in the qualifying round. I think Fener is one of our possible opponents, no?

Schneiderlin in the bag as well. Paraphrasing a Redcafe poster here:

Midfield went from Anderson/Cleverley/Giggs/Gibson/Fletcher/Carrick

To Herrera/Carrick/Schneiderlin/Schweinsteiger/Blind

Lloris to join his French mate if DDG leaves? ;)

Utd building some quality strength in depth in CM

Depay/Young-------------Rooney/ST/(Depay)Wilson---------Mata/DiMaria

------------------Bastian/Fellaini-----------Herrera/(Di Maria)

--------------------------Carrick/Schneiderlin/Blind

Shaw/Rojo/(Blind)---------CB/(Rojo)---------Smalling/Jones-----Darmian/Valencia

---------------------------------Valdes/Someone

If Arsenal sign a decent ST, which I think they will, and Utd grab a CB/ST, this season could be an even better title battle than 13/14 with all 4 teams fighting right till the the end rather than 2 dropping off.

So DDG is on the plane for the tour (no Valdes though...)
Wonder what that means long term. Hopefully nothing as daft as letting him go for free next summer.

I'm looking forward to seeing how our new look ahem, Schmidfield will line up...

So we went from having no MFs for so long to having an abundance. Feels much more solid. Better CBs now and I'm set :D

Wenger said:
“They have made some interesting signings. They came out of the season thinking they have to rebuild their midfield, and they did it by buying two important players - Schweinsteiger and Schneiderlin. They are two top-class players.

:SNACK: I think he gave up on the mind games.... lovefest!!

“We knew they wouldn’t be happy with finishing outside the top three and that they would respond,” said Wenger.

stop ffs!

Yeah that's going to drag, we've made it clear De Gea isn't off unles we get Ramos or more likely Real will have to offer a 40-50M fee.

Not really

I'd be OK with it (he's probably the best of the lot 'available') but I don't really want us to get into talks with PSG because it will likely lead to them pushing for Di Maria. :ANX:
