Manchester United Thread

Talking about Chelsea, we had spent few and earned more than United did this 2 years. :)

I think you should do a maths 101 son.

Chelsea income is £319.9 million, 60% of income goes on player wages, pre tax profit £19.1million. Chelsea owe Roman £958 million.

United income is £433.1 million, 50% of income on wages, pre tax profit £67.9 million, the club owe £342 million.

For some strange reasons nobody knows local tv decided to show only the second half of United v Arsenal live and straight afterwards the whole game in replay.

Naahh, we should have won this match. So, de facto it is the last European Cup qualification round for us now.

You're right, I think we should start counting all spend 2 years ago. That seems perfectly logical. Because without Hazard, Azpilicueta, Courtois, Cahill, Ramires, Oscar, Willian and Ivanovic, you'd have been fine to win the league. Not like any of those players helped.

Personally, I believe squads are built over more than 2 years, maybe more like 10. But I guess I'm crazy. I mean, if you compare 10 year gross spend to actually build the squads, Chelsea have spent 924m versus United's 593m.

But I guess we should just look at the windows that make your argument more compelling.

He's nuts. Not entirely sure if it's a good thing.

Still, rather that then being told we were outstanding and gave it 110% etc.

Big Dave - both POTY awards. SOB.

Shit game today. Almost seems as if the lads were a bit depressed or something. I'd venture to guess few team will have released as many players since the start of this season and the beginning of the next.

Players gone or likely to be gone:
-Fletcher
-Cleverley
-Chicharito
-Nani
-Evans
-Rafael
-Falcao
-Blackett (loan perhaps.. Depends on who we bring in?)
-Lindegaard
-De Gea (?)
-RvP (?)

I'm probably missing a few.

Hopefully we ll do business quickly so the new folk are gonna have plenty of time to settle.

Excited about the rumor we might go for Muller. Not a flashy player but seems like a LVG like workhorse. Plus we've been missing a bit of that nasty streak this season.

You can't sign Muller as you're already at the max for your diving quota ;)

Nice to see Fellaini finaly get a red card today.

Fellaini's challenge was awful. What a prick, basically kicking and kneeing a defenseless player. Big man indeed.

Two other notes:

1. This is inventive. Tired of being held at corners? Just punch the defender and none of the officials will see it.

2. Di Maria went off after presumably a slightly bruised rib, while Paul McShane stayed in with a 3 inch cut up his thigh, a split brow and about 5 feet of bandages.

Was never convinced by Di Maria, always thought he was a fair weather player with one good season at the very top. Proving me right this year. What a disappointment. A real player would have wanted to stay on to prove himself, he was looking for the first chance to get off the pitch.

No offer for Falcao ? I think he should head to MLS. He did very little @Monaco. Di Maria never felt at home he wanted Paris from the jump supposedly .

I think the ever old case of Van Gaal not being able to work with South-Americans is proven again. At Barça during his first tenure he and Rivaldo didn't get along. Then during his second tenure he signed Riquelme who flopped too. Even at AZ he couldn't get a goal out of Ari. I don't know if it's the same case with Di Maria and Falcao but there is a pattern.

LVG's zero bullshit attitude and the temperament of South Americans may not mesh as well? (and yes I know that's a bit of a generalization). Same could be said for him working with Italian players. (e.g.Luca Toni)

And I agree about not wanting Alves unless it's cheap.
